We had a fabulous stay at Odette's beautiful home! Everything was perfect especially the heated private pool (an additional charge but totally worth it) We're making plans for a return trip😁 Thanx Odette for being a wonderful host!!

I chose this listing B/c it presented as a premium property, Unfortunately its condition fell below acceptable cleanliness standards. Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the unit had not been properly cleaned or maintained. From the bathroom showers, to the living room sofa/chairs had large, visible stains, even the bdrm pillows also stains.The floors throughout the unit were dirty, and the kitchen backsplash was covered with splatter. Additionally, the patio furniture was covered in black mold, making it unusable! Had to place towels over the cushions just to sit comfortably outside.The description and photos advertised 3 lounge chairs yet only 1 was provided. What was most disappointing was when I contacted Odette regarding these issues, her immediate response was if I was unhappy, I could leave and she would refund my money! This was neither a helpful nor responsible solution, after arriving to property and unpacking for what was intended to be relaxing vacation!

When you first reached out, I offered a full refund so you could relocate to a place you’d feel comfortable, because your satisfaction mattered more to me than the booking. I’ve since gone through the unit and our cleaning process to make sure everything is in top shape for future guests. I truly wish we could have turned your stay around, and I wish you all the best.
Just a small issue with the door lock, which apparently had no battery and couldn't be locked. There is only one restaurant open throughout the week, and they have very few staff. The other two restaurants are only open on weekends
The rental was lovely. It’s a resort and as an adventure traveler I was uncertain what the area would afford us but the proximity to the beach with a restaurant onsite was unbeatable. The food at the restaurant, Koyuco, was great; we watched World Cup there. A real highlight of our trip was time spent in Portobelo. Such a lovely city; it’s 30 minutes from the rental. I recommend eating at Cafe Congo, the seating area overlooks the bay and is absolutely breathtaking. Additionally, a stroll to the church with Black Jesus is a must. The church itself dates back to 1606 and is undergoing renovations but still well worth a visit.
Our stay in Playa Escondida was simply wonderful. The place is beautiful, quiet and perfect for disconnecting from the daily grind. The property is very well maintained, impeccably clean, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. What we enjoyed the most was the peaceful surroundings, the beauty of the sea, and the feeling of being in a true retreat to rest and spend time with family. Each space invites you to relax and create lasting memories. We appreciate the excellent service and hospitality we received. It's definitely a place we'd gladly return to and recommend to those seeking an experience of relaxation, comfort, and contact with nature. Thank you for a memorable stay!
Excellent property. Everything was as described, and it was very clean. Everything was well organized, and the host was helpful at all times, providing immediate responses. We 100% recommend this place, and we would stay here again next time.

Odette’s place is phenomenal. The apartment was clean, had plenty of towels- including beach towels, the beds were extremely comfortable, the view was amazing and the private pool was an added bonus. Odette went out of her way to ensure that we had everything we needed to include finding us a private chef during our stay. The chef was outstanding. Not only was she a great cook she was also extremely friendly. She prepared homemade, fresh delicious meals to include chicken curry, fried fish and shrimp with rice. The sides were just as amazing as the main courses… plantains, homemade salad dressings, salads, fresh fruits, homemade mashed potatoes and pineapple salsa. The resort itself was spotless. The staff takes great pride in the facility and it shows. The beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful and we loved the option of multiple pools, the expansive playground with splash pad or beach. No matter where we went at playa escondida our family had a great time.

Esan and his family were wonderful to host. They followed the house rules perfectly and were great guests. They asked me to book a chef for them to cook local flavors for them all week and they really enjoyed all the food and experience. Would love to have them back anytime! Thanks!
The apartment is very nice and in an excellent location near the marina. You have immediate access to the pools, restaurant and also the beach. Very good communication with Odette. We want to come back again with the family. Highly recommended!

The apartment is comfortable and has everything you need. The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos, although we didn't use it. The beach is very close and beautiful. Odette was very friendly and allowed us to check out later without any inconvenience. Thank you for your attention!
