Wonderful stay. Private and in the jungle. Amazing views. Make sure you’re ready with a high clearance 4x4 as the road is very rough to get it.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Layla! The place was as shown in the photos, and the ocean view was breathtaking. There were 4 of us, and we had space and privacy. We liked that the accommodation was both in a quiet area and close to the bustle of Santa Teresa. Several beautiful beaches nearby, including Santa Teresa and Playa Hermosa. There were also lots of activities to do, enough to keep you busy every day! As the road is unpaved, a 4x4 is essential to get to the accommodation. After that, the mountain bikes are really worth the expense and make it much easier to get around the area. Maya already has contacts to allow us to rent some. We were even able to have some available and delivered directly to the accommodation. Feel free to write to her if you are looking for guides for activities; she has several contacts!

We had such a great stay at Maya's place. She was so friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help whenever we had a question. The house is beautiful, well equipped, and the view is absolutely amazing. We really enjoyed our time there, and communicating with Maya was easy the whole time. We'd definitely recommend staying here!

Mayas Place was a wonderful hide-out in the middle of the jungle and close enough to everything you need. Beautiful architecture and really cozy and quiet. Thanks for the stay!

Mayas house was amazing ! we enjoyed the scenery, pool & location very much ! you do definitely need a ATV to get to the villa but was also worth it and fun to explore in , would definitely go back

We had an amazing time at Casa Layla for my partner's birthday! The house was beautiful, peaceful, and well-equipped. The pool was a life-saver during the hot afternoons, and we even had monkeys visit the deck one day! The AC in the bedrooms work well, and there's lots of sliding doors in the main area to get a breeze. You'll definitely need a true 4x4 (not just a 4 wheel drive) with good tires to get back up the road from the house, but it's totally worth it! Maya was a very responsive host, and gave us lots of info and recommendations. She also set up a chef (Davide - highly recommend!) to come to the house to make a delicious birthday dinner! Overall we had a fantastic time! Of note- there are a few other houses around, which you can see from Casa Layla, so it's not as isolated as the photos may seem. But it was still very quiet and peaceful!

Beautiful home in private area with gorgeous view. Definitely requires a 4x4 for access but it’s so worth it! Only downside for us was not having AC in the living space (only was in bedrooms) as it was very hot during our trip

Very good contact with Maya. The directions for getting there, checking in were very clear. In addition, she recommended us a great boat trip with an Italian crew that I recommend to everyone (with diving, food included). Super nice people. Pros: - Very nice house, 3 full bathrooms and 3 separate bedrooms with air conditioning, plus a living room and kitchen. Very comfortable conditions. Towels, swimming pool, everything prepared. - Nature surrounds us. We were visited by monkeys, two toucans flew in. They make themselves known at night ;). Small lizards can also be found. Wonderful. Small minuses: - Difficult access steeply uphill, 4x4 required. For mobile people and those who like off-road, I recommend renting Quads or a 4x4 SUV

We had a really comfortable and special stay in Maya's appartment. Living in the jungle but in a luxury environment. We really enjoyed the house and will happily come back. Thank you Maya!

My family of 4 had a phenomenal week at Casa Layla in Mal Pais! This was my family's 4th visit to Santa Teresa area and we have tried various locations for accommodations. If you are looking for a private and beautiful home imbedded in nature with terrific water views, this is your spot. The air conditioning in the rooms worked very well. The kitchen was extremely well outfitted. The pool was perfect for a cool afternoon dip. Sunset views are magical. Including the drive down the hill, it is about 10 minutes to the heart of Santa Teresa. 4x4 is needed because it is rather steep and rocky in areas. Maya was a phenomenal host. She was extremely responsive and helpful in all regards. Josue did a great job maintaining the property. We could not have been any happier with the entire stay and plan to return.
