Wonderfully comfortable bed. Located very close to the beach!

A Warm Welcome in Nosara: Our Airbnb Stay with Karin Nosara, Costa Rica, is a place of natural beauty, relaxed vibes, and friendly faces—but no one embodies that warmth more than our Airbnb host, Karin. From the moment my wife and I arrived, Karin made us feel completely at home, greeting us with a big smile and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing his love of Nosara. His property is a true gem, nestled just a short stroll away from the pristine shores of Pelada Beach. The accommodations are thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and local charm. We particularly appreciated the serene ambiance, which provided a peaceful retreat after our daily adventures. What stood out most about our stay wasn’t just the comfortable accommodations (which were fantastic), but the conversations we had with Karin. He has an incredible depth of knowledge about the area, and we found ourselves constantly drawing on his insights. Whether it was the best places for fresh seafood, breathtak

The house itself was nicely designed and I believe Karin is a good person. That being said, this was not a relaxing setting for an Airbnb. We spent nearly $400 for the 1 night stay. Between 1:30 AM and 6 AM (and especially for 45 minutes from 5:15 AM to 6 AM), there were numerous animal sounds, including roosters crowing constantly, many neighbors' dogs barking, and disturbing squealing sounds (which apparently we learned later on were from howler monkeys). We have several voice recordings of them. It felt like we were on a farm. What was a bit more upsetting was that Karin attempted to convince us that this was all normal and a "typical morning where it still wild life in Costa Rica". We responded that we had been elsewhere in Nosara for several days before that night and that these sounds are not typical of any of the other days we stayed there. They should have been disclaimed. Karin agreed to a late checkout which should be the bare minimum extended for such inconveniences.

Host Response

Hi Nathan, Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear that the sounds of nature, like the monkeys and roosters, made you uncomfortable. These are part of the experience in rural neighborhoods across Costa Rica and much of Central America, where the natural environment remains vibrant and untouched by excessive development. If you stayed longer, you might have had more time to adapt to and appreciate this unique setting. I’m glad you found the house to be great and exactly as expected, though I noticed the proximity to the beach wasn’t mentioned. Being able to step right onto the beach and enjoy it any time is a rare and special privilege, one that many travelers cherish. While I understand my place might not suit everyone, it offers a truly authentic experience for those who value nature and tranquility. I hope you were able to take away some good memories from your stay. Warm regards, Karim

The house has many convenient amenities in the kitchen and bathroom, is walkable to a quiet, rustic beach, and is offset from road noise. A four-wheel drive vehicle is important for navigating this part of the Nicoya peninsula (rocky, dusty roads and lots of constrution), but once you arrive, many things are walkable via the beach and trails. This place allowed us to avoid the bigger touristy/hotel areas and have a relaxing, not overly scheduled kind of getaway. Thank you!
