Casa Serendipity was everything that we hoped for our family of five. The house is within a quiet, safe neighborhood. The drive to the beach and restaurants was easy and quick. We spent hours in the pool, had amazing meals cooked by Sara and enjoyed Hacienda Pinilla tremendously. Mariela was outstanding. She was extremely responsive when we had questions. We will definitely come back to Casa Serendipity!

Had a great time!! Wanted privacy and quiet time with the family and that’s exactly what we got… in a beautiful well kept house, garden and pool. Mariela was so gracious and kind. She went the extra mile so that we would have everything we needed and wanted. Definitely highly recommended and will come back again…

We've stayed in Airbnbs all over the world. We always poll our kids when we check out: "Would you want to come back here?" The answer is more often than not, "It was nice, but let's try something else next time." After leaving Mariela's Hacienda Pinilla, every single person said: "YES, ABSOLUTELY YES WE SHOULD COME BACK!" Our family of 5 (two teens and an eight-year-old) had a fantastic visit. This house is perfect in almost every way. We aren't "city people," and the privacy of this location was ideal. Very quiet, except for a few construction trucks now and again. (There is a lot of building happening in Costa Rica!) The house was just 20 minutes away from Tamarindo, providing easy access to necessities like groceries, surfing lessons, and restaurants. For 3 straight days, at the private beach (access for Hacienda Pinilla guests) at Playa Langosta, we were the only people visible for a mile in either direction. Incredible! Mariela was the best host we've ever encountered on Airbnb❤️

We were a group of 4 couples. The home fit us perfectly. We had enough room in the home to have our own space but nice gathering areas for dinners inside or out. The pool area was outstanding! Mariela was very responsive. She also gave us recommendation for a chef to come & make us a dinner one evening. That was a highlight of our trip. The home is exactly like photos. The outdoor showers were a hit. You could hear monkeys & so many birds. We even had 2 McCaws land on a tree next to pool. It was awesome! You do have to drive to beaches, which was no problem. It's a 20 min drive into Tamarindo. There are some great restaurants closer like Lola'a on Avaellanas beach. The Hacienda Pinilla beach club is close but still have to drive. It's $45 for day use. We did not use any of facilities. It was in the high 90's & sunny all week. Bring plenty of sunscreen & a hat. We brought bug spray but did not need it at the house.

We stayed at Mariela’s for 5 days and throughly enjoyed our stay. Mariela provided clear instructions to enter the property. She was also very responsive throughout the trip. The property was gorgeous and was exactly as advertised. We also enjoyed the beach club as well.

The pictures do not do this place justice! It is such a beautiful property set in a gated community. Very clean and quiet. The kitchen is well stocked. The outdoor showers are fantastic! The 2 master bedrooms have large automatic blackout shades. We enjoyed the pool and loved playing games and the large indoor and outdoor tables. If you are thinking about booking this place, do it! Mariela was extremely responsive to all questions and is a wonderful host! Thanks for an amazing stay!

The house was so beautiful and comfortable. The backyard was so private and a great place to relax after an active day. The house has a very equipped kitchen with everything you could need. Mariela was super responsive and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better house/host!!!

Our group of 8 adults had a wonderful 8-day stay at Casa Serendipity. The home was peaceful, beautiful, and perfectly set up for a relaxing trip. One of our favorite parts was the wildlife—we saw scarlet macaws daily and also spotted monkeys, raccoons, a skunk, a fox, iguanas, and many beautiful birds. Sunsets on the beach were incredible. The home was extremely well appointed with everything we needed. The outdoor living area was the highlight—we spent most of our time there enjoying the comfortable seating, cooking, and dining together. The pool was great as well, with morning sun and afternoon shade. The housekeeping team was wonderful and Mariela was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. Our only minor criticism is the dirt road between Hacienda Pinilla and Tamarindo can be very bumpy and dusty. Hopefully that will be re-routed soon. Overall, we loved our stay and would absolutely return.

Family vacation with 7 adults - and the perfect setting for this. Lots of room to spread out, comfortable common space and great sun protection. The beach was a 40 min walk and quite pleasant early in the morning. A car was needed for all other activities. Mariela was highly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Quick access to Tamarindo for business and a beautiful beach club on the property for sun and relaxation. Would highly recommend.

Casa Serendipity is aptly named. It is a beautiful, peaceful and well appointed home. The entire home is tastefully decorated: the beds are quite comfortable with nice linens, the bathroom shower gardens are delightful, both the indoor and outdoor kitchens are well equipped, the outdoor entertainment area is a great place to gather, and the pool is brisk and refreshing. Mariela responds quickly to any request or question. She was super easy to communicate with. The Las Brisas community was quite safe and we enjoyed walks and bike rides in the neighborhood, as well as, in the larger Hacienda Pinilla area. Playa Avellanas and Tamarindo are 20-25 minutes away and offer many restaurants, beaches, activities and grocery stores. We became fans of a duo called Nablo (nablo_vibes) who play frequently at several of the local restaurants and beach bars. We stayed a month at Casa Serendipity and truly fell in love with Costa Rican pura vida. Highly recommend a stay at this wonderful property!

Great outdoor terrace and bbq area. Super comfortable house for 8 people. Mariela is super responsive and attentive. We has a great stay at her home in Pinilla.

Absolutely beautiful home. Gracious space for our entire family to enjoy the Christmas holidays. The only hiccup was in settling in, getting some of the appliances to work and having communication with Mariella, who is located overseas and whose first language is not English. Mariella ultimately responded effectively to our needs. Once the kinks were worked out, we really enjoyed ourselves. We would be happy to consider going back again.

Marriott resort is wonderful. Ate at several restaurants and golfed a lot! Her home is convenient to everything
