John’s home in playa langosta was perfect for our little family. It had all of the amenities we needed and was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the private pool each day and the AC and washer/dryer were much appreciated. It was nice having restaurants within walking distance, away from the hustle and bustle of tamarindo. The well-equipped kitchen was great for making breakfast (and other meals) before venturing out for the day. This trip allowed us to relax and slow down a bit — something we definitely needed! John has a beautiful home that has been newly renovated since the photos have been taken. He was a responsive and helpful host. The area surrounding his home is in the Cala Luna property and so this allowed us to have some hotel perks as well. The pool was beautiful and very welcomed with the heat. There was a full kitchen, JBL speaker, and lots of towels as some highlights we enjoyed. Tamarindo is a 20 minute walk to town which is a great distance because it allowed for some peace and quiet from the busier town area. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will stay here again if coming back to Tamarindo.

This home is pure bliss - we absolutely loved everything about it. It's more beautiful than the photos show, and the private pool is such a wonderful perk in the heat! John is a rare find in a host - he's responsive, and shares the best local recommendations. Our whole family is grateful to have stayed in this beautiful place and would love to return! My family had an incredible time at John’s Villa. The photos honestly don’t do it justice—the atmosphere and vibe of the place are something you have to experience in person. The location is perfect: just a quick golf cart ride to all the action, yet far enough away to feel private and peaceful. It was the ideal balance for a relaxing and memorable stay.

We had a great few days at John’s place! I would highly recommend this rental to families with little ones. The location was perfect for exploring the beach and tide pools, just steps from the restaurant at the Cala Luna hotel, and a short drive into Tamarindo (it could be walkable but we drove due to the heat). Our three year old has been crying to go back since we left! Thanks John!

John’s place was even more lovely than the pictures and his responsiveness was top tier. Our 3 kids really enjoyed the pool and seeing the monkeys in the trees right in the backyard. The location right on the Cala Luna Hotel property made breakfast and the beach an easy walk and the walk to the food truck park was only 12 minutes. We left a load of laundry in the dryer during one of our outings and returned to them all folded neatly which was a nice surprise. We actually liked that there was no tv to help reduce distractions. A very wonderful stay!

John has a great spot that is in a prime location. It’s quiet at night and a short walk to the beach, and roughly 15 minutes to walk into town. The pool was a great place to hang out in the morning and evening. I’ll definitely book here again if I stay in Tamarindo.

We stayed at John’s place for a week in Playa Langosta and were overall pleased with the stay. The villa is as described and in photos. We loved having the pool there and all of the wildlife that still roam the area. John was very helpful and responsive during our stay!

One of the best airbnb’s we’ve stayed at!! Great location, secure and cute neighborhood, clean, stylish, and nice to have the two bedrooms on opposite ends of the house + each with doors to the backyard. The pictures on the listing are outdated - they’ve done some beautiful upgrades! Big floor to ceiling windows and glass doors open up to the backyard.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place. The location was peaceful and relaxing, yet still within easy walking distance to Tamarindo town and the beach. One of our favorite things was being able to quickly walk to Punta San Francisco for sunset, which is easily one of the best sunset spots in Tamarindo. A special bonus was seeing monkeys in the trees on the property after a great beach day. Lastly, John was extremely helpful and responsive, offering great restaurant recommendations both near his place and in town. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tamarindo!

We had a wonderful time at the villa. Larger inside than the pictures show and was full of everything we needed. The cleaner was a huge plus since we rented it for 2 weeks. One of my fav parts was having the kitchen stocked with a few niceties like avocado oil, salt, pepper and plastic containers. It had all the towels we needed and the pool was amazing. It’s a great place with kids! It’s a 18 mins walk to Tamarindo and the hotel complex it’s in is very very nice. Definitely recommend his place!

My family enjoyed 11 nights at John’s place. The house was more spacious than expected. All amenities needed were available. We felt safe at the house and surrounding area. The pool was wonderful and we enjoyed it daily. There is a grocery store and 5 restaurants very close by. Tamarindo is about a 15 min walk. We did not have a car. You can rent golf carts if needed. Beaches - Playa Langosta is a very short walk 5 min and you can walk to Tamarindo beach in about 15 min. Tamarindo is busier, it was nice to stay in a quieter area. Howler monkeys were seen morning and night right on the roof of the house and trees in the yard. We also saw iguanas and variegated squirrels in the yards along with a number of birds. Cleaning service was included in the stay the lovely lady came a number of times while we were there. John was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to my many questions prior and during our stay. We would stay again at John’s villa.

John’s place was fantastic! The location was perfect, and having a pool was a huge plus for our kids. John was very responsive, and we really appreciated Reina coming by twice to clean during our stay. Everything was smooth and enjoyable—highly recommend! Thanks again, John!
