We had an amazing time at Alya Jungle Retreat. It was very relaxing, with yoga and breakfast to get us up every morning. The location requires a decent vehicle, but that comes with incredible nature and privacy. Our host, Yani, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back again.

We had the most beautiful, peaceful stay, surrounded by nature. We were even given an upgrade on our casita when we arrived! Amazing hosts, who gave us an abundance of recommendations. And the yoga every morning was absolute bliss! We came away feeling recharged and truly grateful for this experience.

Such a gem! As we arrived, we immediately felt welcomed with warmth. The scenery is so unique and definitely an experience of its own : waking with the howling monkeys, the beautiful birds, the dense vegetation… The morning pilates and yoga classes were definitely a favorite. These moments offered a precious glimpse of peace and taught us to slow down and follow the rhythm of the Costa Rican lifestyle!

What a beautiful paradise! Shlomo was kind and welcoming and the cabana was lovely! Yoga every morning is a must, Maria was such a great teacher and so kind. We woke up to yoga with the monkeys!

The place on the playa montaña; but the photos did not match what we were offered.
Host Response
We realise that some furniture has been moved since the taking of the photos but it is still essentially the same inside the casita. We appreciate your feedback 🙏🏼

Such a incredible stay. We loved being tucked away especially after coming from busier parts of CR. Shlomo is a great yoga teacher and gave us some travel tips to plan our next move down the peninsula. The breakfast we had in their cafe was amazing and we also had all the basics we needed to cook our own meals in the casita. We stayed for Sunday morning ecstatic dance before leaving & it was a great way to connect with the broader community this retreat serves. The only slight bother was being able to hear noises from our neighboring casita a little too clearly/close by, but turning fans on helped drown that out. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend! Best place to be engulfed in nature and so many nearby beaches, sweet towns. Rugged roads so get a 4WD or similar!

Our stay at Shlomo's house exceeded all our expectations. Our stay there was so pleasant and meaningful. The cabin itself is cozy and beautiful, with nature from all directions, a fun kitchen to cook in, comfy bed, fun and thin shower outside facing the jungle. The entire complex is immersed in the jungle and there are common areas for campfire and yoga. Shlomo is the heart of the place, a kind person who is pleasant to stay with and chat with. He gives yoga classes every morning that even more enhance the experience, open their hearts and connect to yourself and nature. We will definitely come back again! Thank you!

Positive points: exotic, relaxing. Negatives: Lack of communication: you don't really feel at home and not so well received… the quick explanations sent, and we're still waiting for answers to our questions. - same for yoga classes, no introductions. We have to follow the movement and that's it. Not to mention the 30mins daily delay of Schlomo as well as a morning when he didn't come and were never notified. Fortunately, another client was a teacher herself and kindly improvised a class for us instead. - Really very dirty fridge - Few cooking utensils (forced to beg for tea towels and a pot near the stove due to lack of response to the message.) - We are told a breakfast that has become paid ($12…) while originally included. Thankfully we didn't count it down. - Outdated mosquito net with lots of holes. This certainly peaceful place didn't make us feel comfortable for lack of attention from hosts

Incredible, wild experience I would recommend to anyone with a strong sense of adventure. Rainforest glamping with a gorgeous pristine beach 10 mins away. Morning breathwork with Shlomo is included. Hannah, Gabriela, and Shlomo were usually available and helpful. Communal cooking, horseback riding, and surfing were more than I’d hoped for. Vibe was unique and authentic. One note is to arrive before sunset. Dirt roads are without street lamps and everything looked the same upon first glance- staff goes to sleep early and given the remoteness you don’t want to rely upon the kindness of strangers. 💗

It is a really special place in many ways. The microclimate, the ambiance, the yoga, casitas, and dogs. Everything mixes perfectly together. Microclimat is different from what you normally experience being close to the water. The place is sunked into the rainforest, making it shady and comfortable even during a midday. You may even want to dress up over early morning!

The stay was a pure experience. The place is magical. The time was very enriching and educational for us (few). People there are incredibly appreciative and kind-hearted. The two dogs Chiva and flor are also in love. The small cottage is - as described in the pictures. (Excluded from the hammock) But no matter what, you can ask for everything and you will be helped. One important thing to mention, especially if you want to stay there longer, you should somehow take something to store your things well, because during the rainy season , things start to mold very easily, due to the humidity. It was actually just one point, otherwise it was really memorable. Monkeys can be watched there Pisotes , butterflies , toads, beautiful birds and just what the jungle has to offer. Oh, still very important. An off-road vehicle 4x4 all-wheel drive is incredibly important. Otherwise, you may not get there. Or also get away - depending on how the roads are at that time. Only in general, you should rent a 4x4 car for Costa Rica, because most of the streets there are not fortified. The breakfast there is also very lovingly prepared and all vegan and fresh. There is homemade humus and nut muse. Everything is very friendly and I can only recommend the place for new experiences if you really want to experience something completely different. Also regarding community life. I am definitely very grateful to have been there 💜 It was an experience for life. Thank you Shlomo !

We had a great stay! You really get a taste for being with wildlife and the cabin is very beautiful. Close by to beaches and Nosara! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.
