Amazing location, probably the best view we’ve ever had at an air bnb, overall a really cool experience. Dagmar was a great host, and provided an amazing guidebook of restaurant’s/beaches/waterfalls in the area.

Stunning villa near Playa Hermosa. Spotless, beautifully designed, and truly one of a kind. The view felt like paradise. Dagmar was an excellent host: very discreet, respectful of privacy, and constantly reachable. My only regret was not staying longer. Would absolutely return! ❤️

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, in the jungle, but ocean views, and close to Uvita beach. If you don’t like bugs, this isn’t the place for you. Super peaceful and you wake up to the sounds of nature. I would absolutely stay here again

It’s absolutely stunning from start to finish. Pure magic. There are a few bugs and it’s not air tight which means lights off from about 6pm which is tricky. But overall amazing.

Pictures don’t even begin to describe how beautiful this home is. Everything was very easy to use, and very homey. At night was a very pleasant experience with even the visit of a caoti! Such a cute place, we would return immediately!! Worth every second of being there 🥰

Beautiful villa - truly one of those “once in a lifetime” spots. The view is to die for!!! It’s definitely located in a small town (definitely not touristy) but the guidebook D & K provided was sooo helpful and every restaurant we went to was amazing! We even booked the zip line tour they recommended and it was great! Waking up to the sunrise and that view each morning was something else! Had the best week with my husband and we will definitely be back! The place was perfectly decorated, so clean and well stocked with everything you need! Highly recommend!!!

This place is BREATHTAKING!!! Looks just as beautiful in person as it does in the photos. You can see the whales tail from the balcony. You will absolutely need a 4x4 vehicle!!! Even for other places in the surrounding area, you will need it. You are in the middle of the rainforest, so yes, expect bugs...ants, moths, grasshoppers, geicos, etc. They weren't bothersome, just hanging out. My husband and I slept with the doors open at night and slept lovely. Just don't keep the lights on at night. The doors do lock, but the area is private and secluded if safety is a concern. Dagmar, the host is an amazing woman. She met us there upon arrival. She's always around if you need anything. Once booked you will be provided with a guidebook that will tell you everything you need to know. It also gives spot on recommendations for food, activities, etc. Overall 10/10 and we will be returning!

We absolutely loved our stay at Dagmar’s place! The space is exactly like the photos, if not even more stunning in person. Dagmar, who is also the architect, has created something truly special. We fell in love with the design and how beautifully it blends into the surrounding nature. Absolutely loved everything about our stay! We came specifically to bird watch, and it turned out to be the perfect location. Peaceful, scenic, and full of life within just three days, we were able to identify 50 different species. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

The house is simply stunning. Pictures and words cannot describe the place and the view. If you like architecture and nature, this is the place for you. The house is equipped with everything and everything is designed in detail. We did not miss air conditioning, the breeze on the mountain is pleasant if you leave the doors open and there are fans. Dagmar is very nice and has great local recommendations. We loved it.

Unbelievable stay. Dagmar introduced us to everything and explained it all. The villa live is even crazier than on the pictures. We were regretting not having booked more nights. The view, the vibe, the architecture, the jungle. You will get an insane Guide from Dagmar, which basically gives you all the good options to do stuff in Uvita. This will go down as one of my favorite stays. Dagmar’s place is absolutely magical. I was slightly concerned about being in nature and reading reviews about bugs. My husband and I love nature, but don’t necessarily love being one with it. Yes, there are bugs, but I actually didn’t find them to be all that bad. My only complaints would be that having ac would be nice. It gets HOT. The nights were a bit tougher than I expected. My husband and I also had purchased a bunch of groceries for breakfast because it is a bit of a trek up and down the hill and we figured we would also save some money. Unfortunately, I went to make breakfast and the propane tank was empty. It was early and I reached out, but didn’t hear anything for a bit which was fine. Eventually we were too hungry and went to get a bite. We heard from Dagmar who said it would be approximately an hour. It ended up being closer to 2.5 hours which was ok, but an update would’ve been nice. 10/10 stay. We hope to visit again!

This home is nothing short of incredible—from the beautiful views, the stunning architecture, the comfortable beds & the wonderful host Dagmar who provided such amazing local recommendations. This was by far one of the most beautiful airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in & we will definitely be back! You definitely need a 4x4 to get to the home & please note there is no AC and lights have to be off by dark to avoid bugs entering the home as there are cracks under the doors etc but overall the bugs weren’t an issue and there is a fan in the closet we plugged into the wall & a ceiling helped with the heat at night. During the day we opened the glass doors and let the cool breeze in. It was pure perfection & I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. You must stay in this Airbnb once in your lifetime!!! We did the sunset horseback riding tour, massage at the Airbnb & ate at a few of the restaurants dagger recommended. They were all fantastic and the highlight of our trip!

Visiting this place was the sole reason I came to Uvita: it had been on my must-visit list for the past two years, and it was truly the best gift I could give myself. This home is an architectural masterpiece that immerses you completely in nature. I’m not usually a morning person, but here, I found myself waking up at 5 AM each day to the soothing sounds of birds and the soft hues of the pastel sky. If you’re looking for a true escape, this is your El Dorado. Outside, you feel as if you’re floating above the bay, and inside, the design is so thoughtfully curated that it’s simply perfection. This house is a gem in the jungle. One of the most special places I’ve ever visited. We stayed for a full week which I recommend because you can really integrate with the surroundings and experience something truly unique. The architecture is impeccable - Dagmar designed this place beautifully and sustainably! Additionally the host was super responsive and helpful with local recs which is a plus! I will definitely visit again and cannot recommend this place enough!

Dagmar made us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. The pictures don’t do it justice. The views are breath taking no matter the weather. Although minimal, the house is decorated straight out of a catalog. Just remember you’re in the middle of the jungle. With that beauty and privacy does come with some bugs. We would highly recommend Dagmar’s place to any couple looking for a private, luxury getaway.

This has been by far my favorite stay 🩷 We arrived late, like 7pm. It gets dark here pretty quick. She was so sweet to greet us & give us a tour personally. I was more than pleased to learn about her & how she designed this villa. What she shared with me, inspired me & I am so grateful I had this opportunity. It was nice to be in a space a woman that literally had a vision & blueprint. Now she gets the pleasure to reap the benefits of her labor. I wouldn’t wish anything less for her. Dagmar has a beautiful energy & super helpful with any questions you can think of. Paradise meets nature is a understatement. I felt so safe. I stayed here with my 7 year old son. I can’t wait to come back to visit. Also, it’s interesting that we have not gotten 1 misquito bite Lol.

Awesome place beautiful view and architecture

One of the greatest airbnbs we have ever stayed at. The place looked even better than the pictures. Great host who provides amazing local recommendations. All the amenities were top notch. A great view to wake up to and fall asleep to. We had one of the best sleeps we have had in a long time. We were sad to leave but we will definitely be back.

The view from this villa is breathtaking. When you open your eyes in the morning, you’ll be amazed by the clouds rolling across the sky. It’s perfect for yoga and meditation. There are many lovely cafes and restaurants down the mountain. I had a wonderful two-day stay here. Dagamar promptly assisted us with all our needs and quickly replaced the water heater. As for the insect issue, it wasn’t as bad as some reviews mentioned. I used six ultrasound insect repellent, and within the area where it were placed, there were no insects. Additionally, with continuous rain, even with all the glass doors open, there were hardly any bugs. I would definitely come back if I have the chance and highly recommend this place.

The hill is very steep getting to the villa but the best thing about the location is that it is very close..less than 5 minutes to the beach. 10/10 recommend booking!

such a cool place we had no plan and based our vacation around this airbnb but it turned out WAY better then we expected, there was a list of things that were given to us about nearby restaurants and waterfalls and beaches and numbers to book tours with and we were lucky enough to visit all the waterfalls alone expect for the one at the national park. Idk what happened but the day on check out our battery to the car was dead but the hosts helped us out, thanks for that! There was some bugs in the villa but it’s normal just sweep em out, view was amazing. Hop in the pool while it’s raining and go to the beach, it’s a vibe. Not pouring rain but you know what I mean.

This place is aaaaamazing, quiet, peaceful and private. Staying here is like living in an open air villa in Costa Rica, feeling all the outdoor feels, smelling the smells and listening to the rainforest. The villa sits a top a hill over looking the best surf break in the area with spectacular views to the south of the Osa Peninsula. We would definetly stay here again and highly recommend Achoite Villa.

As some reviews note, you will need a 4x4 to head up to the Airbnb, you will encounter a few bugs but as long as you keep tidy and leave the lights off at night you will be good. Dagmar's air bnb lived up to the pictures, reviews, and more! The boho theme fits magically with the environment of the jungle. The view was unreal and gives you plenty of reasons to never leave. I visited with my sister but this place is great for a solo trip, friend, or couples trip. There are other residents off the road so that you don't feel totally isolated but it is a private residence. The two big ticket items to be aware of are that it's literally in the jungle so you will need to feel comfortable driving a 4x4 up an unpaved road (you get use to it or can hire a driver!) and the open space concept does allow for bugs to come into the space. Dagmar is extremely welcoming and provides everything you need from bug spray to recommendations in the area. I loved every second of this stay and I will most definitely be staying here again in the future.

Dagmar’s place is beautiful - right out of a magazine. The photos don’t do it justice. There is an incredible attention to design detail - everything has its place. Getting to it can be a challenge - it’s tucked away at the end of a dirt road up a mountain with steep rocky paths. You’ll need a 4x4. But the view is worth it. And after a few runs up and down the mountain, the drive becomes much easier. You’ll have a villa to yourself. There are 2 villas side by side but you don’t really meet/see the other villa. You will also have a full kitchen and great amenities. Do note, this is living in nature. There are bugs at night, but there is a net that surrounds the bed that helps. There is no A/C though. We came in Feb so it got a bit warm at night. We left the doors open for air circulation. But that meant we didn’t really turn on lights after sunset because we didn’t want to be joined by friends. The place is a short drive to everything - food, beach, activities. We loved it!

This place was by far the most epic place we stayed. Incredible view and landscaping made it feel even better. The plunge pool was fun, we lived on the deck. It is open air concept so do expect some bugs to visit. Didn’t bother us at all. Howler monkeys woke us up in the mornings. Sunset view was unmatchable! We would love to stay again if we come back without the kids!

We experienced so much happiness and pleasure while staying in this beautiful villa. Our stay in casa Jaspis in Costa Rica was an absolute delight. It's a rare find that seamlessly blends luxury with nature, providing an unforgettable escape from the ordinary. I wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone seeking a unique and rejuvenating getaway. We experienced such beautiful sunsets that were truly life-changing. Dagmar's guidebook was also very helpful and we enjoyed every minute of our stay in the Uvita/Playa Hermosa area. Uvita was also a very nice place to spend time in! Plenty of restaurants, shops, and options for leisure, we even booked a 1 week membership at a local gym! Our time here was nothing short of extraordinary, and we can't wait to return to this slice of paradise in the future. We reccommend staying here 1000%. You will not regret it.

Our stay at Achiote was everything we could have imagined down to the last detail. Dagmar was an excellent host, and the attention to detail around the property impressed this fellow Airbnb host! We plan to stay again!

This is the most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed in our lives. Everything was amazing. It was sad and hard to leave haha.

Dagmar was a wonderful host and the views were breathtaking even in the rainy season. You absolutely NEED a 4x4 to reach the property. If you’re not comfortable driving, we were given a wonderful list of amenities that come to the villa that we took full advantage of. The property is so quiet, private and secluded. From whale watching, floating breakfast in the infinity pool, and admiring the lightning storms we were really able to connect with nature and fully relax. One thing to note is that it IS private and secluded in nature. We even saw a lemur on the terrace! If (harmless) insects aren’t for you and you are prone to bug bites, Dagmar also has bug sprays and a portable fan for warm nights.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here! Dagmar is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome from the very start! The villa is brilliantly designed & truly offers the best and most private experience of both jungle and ocean together! We will never forget the sights, sounds & ambience here! It’s hard to describe this place in just a few words - it took our breath away! The views, the space, the design were all out of this world. Dagmar was super friendly and the guide book was full of amazing recommendations. Our only complaint is that we didn’t book more nights. Waking up early to that view, hitting the beach at low tide then spending our afternoons next to a waterfall is something we’ll never forget! We hope to make it back someday.

The house is a piece of art and the view is even more beautiful than the photos. I am susceptible to bugs bites and got many, but Dagmar provided bug spray and we needed to leave doors open for the breeze. Dagmar got us a fan which I appreciated and slept right next to. FYI there is no oven or microwave. We were lucky to have quiet neighbors in the house immediately next to ours. We could hear them speaking and laughing but it wasn’t a problem. They played music we liked 😉. If they were loud, it would have been a problem. We could also see glimpses of them through the foliage, but tried not to. If you are afraid of heights or insects, it may not be the place for you. Otherwise it is a spectacular architectural splendor. Also, they are not kidding about 4 WD being necessary. We spent one evening on the outside bed during a thunderstorm and it was awesome. We saw howler monkeys in the trees and they will wake you at 5 am with their howls. Sibu was our favorite eatery.

This place was straight out of Architectural Digest. The view, the space, and the attention to detail is unbeatable. We had a great time with a good luck praying mantis greeting us when we arrive. We were worried about the ride up at first but as long as you have a 4x4 it was an easy ride. Breeze was good at night but can get a little hot on the hotter days. Dagmar was a great host.

This place is a spectacular piece of artwork. Dagmar is an incredibly attentive and kind host, and the architecture is breathtaking. There were bugs and insects, as expected in the wild, but if you are not a fan of those, this place won't be for you. you definitely need 4x4, but we did well with using a local taxi driver. Overall, it is a beautiful magical place.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at. Dagmar is a sweet angel + has the best style! You can feel her heart and soul in every piece she has at the villa + it feels so special when you're there! The views are breathtaking + glass doors surround the entire house! Even when it rains it's the best place to be! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need + has a big fridge. The bed was really comfy with soft sheets + the best pillows + same with the outdoor bed. The shower has organic bath products that smell divine. Everything was perfect. I will definitely come back, because it was so amazing + she was such a lovely host! I didn't want to leave!!!!

We had a fantastic stay at Dagmar’s place. It is truly a gem. You can tell she truly has an eye for architecture and design and we loved her hospitality and how she greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour. The view is incredible- we could never get tired of it. There were also so many thoughtful touches throughout the home, from the landscaping surrounding the property, the floor to ceiling windows, the daybed outside, the dining area, yoga mats in the closet…I could go on and on. We also did so many things in her guidebook and highly recommend!!! Found so many good places to eat and beautiful secluded beaches and waterfalls from it! The home is in nature so if you’re not a nature person I would keep that in mind…but don’t even think twice. Book this! Literally the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in!

My husband and I stayed at Dagmar’s place for four nights. (It was originally three but we just didn’t want to leave) The house is truly special and simply beautiful. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the layout and the design of the space. A true architectural masterpiece. Uvita is a very cool spot and the view from the house is unbeatable. A fantastic find. You will be in the jungle, on top of the mountain overlooking the ocean while staying in a remarkable home. The design of the building lets you become part of nature. We had the pleasure of watching powerful thunderstorms from the day bed. An unforgettable experience. We saw and heard countless species of birds. My wife is a mosquito magnet and she had no issues with biting insects. The home is in the perfect location. Beaches, restaurants and markets are all nearby down the hill. Dagmar is an exceptional host who provided us with a guidebook of the area which has every suggestion you need for a well rounded stay. Scala and La Parcela were great restaurant suggestions. Check them out! The kitchen is well equipped to prepare your own meals because you will want to stay the entire time. We cannot wait to go back!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dagmar’s villa. The views, the attention to detail, and the openness but yet still secluded is what drew us to book. Dagmar was an excellent host and always responded quickly. She stayed in her villa not too far away, but was not overbearing at all. Bugs are to be expected, but nothing out of the ordinary. Dagmar also provided a guidebook with references of restaurants, beaches, and things to do. We were able to book a masseuse and private chef that came to the villa. Incredible! Don’t hesitate, book this place! You won’t regret it.

Every square inch of the home is of the highest quality. the breeze was fantastic with the large sliding doors. the plunge pool was a nice way to cool off. the gardens made the villa private even though it's mostly glass. LOVED this place. would recommend it to anyone. Dagmar is a talented creator.

Without a doubt my favorite Airbnb that I have ever stayed in. As beautiful as the listing pictures are, I promise you it’s even more beautiful in person. The views are out of this world! It is truly a special place. I actually teared up when we left. Do not hesitate to book this!
