Lyndsay's house was truly gorgeous with a dream design. Very well maintained and clean house. Andy was very available for any questions, needs or arrangements. The only downside is that there was no air conditioning in the main living area (only in the bedrooms), which was uncomfortable in the middle of the hot season.

Lindsay’s home is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is very chic yet functional. We came from Rancho so it was really nice to experience an area that felt more local and authentically Nica. The house is perched upon a hill overlooking two beaches and once you get the lay of the land it is super easy to walk down to either beach. If you enjoy surfing, Maderas has a soft/small wave in March/April. Albeit a little crowded during peak times it is easy to stagger your timing to avoid the surf school crowds that show up at high tide. Andy and Marjorie that run the house are so helpful while still giving you privacy and space. Marjorie is a fabulous cook. We loved the energy and pace of the area and the people. Lindsay is the most lovely host and is so helpful before and during your stay. We have stayed at many homes via Airbnb and she is quite possibly the best communicator we’ve encountered.

Communication was seamless from start to finish, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and impeccably maintained. It felt both comfortable and luxurious, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. I would highly recommend this host and property to anyone looking for a memorable and hassle-free stay in San Juan del Sur. We would gladly return!

Our stay at Casa Matilda in San Juan Del Sur (Villa Maderas) was absolutely fantastic. The house itself is beautiful, one of the nicest Airbnb’s we have ever stayed at. The house is a close walk to Playa Maderas and with the new paved road access to the other beaches is a matter of minutes. The house has stunning views of Playa Majagual and its location on top of a hill makes for a constant breeze that helps keep the house cool. Lindsay and Michael are excellent hosts and communicated with us clearly about every detail before and during our stay. They even arranged for us to have an onsite cook (Marjorie) to help with dinner. All the dishes she prepared were absolutely delicious. Please ask for her if you plan to stay here! Her help made the stay effortless and very enjoyable. We were also pleasantly surprised by how good the new roads are. If you are thinking of traveling to Nicaragua, you are already down for adventure . This area is not for people who are looking for all inclusive resorts and golf carts. Which is why we loved this place! Situated on top of a hill up a windy dirt road, the house is oriented to see sunrise, sunset and let the warm winds blow through. There is everything you need to cook, relax and relish the Nicaraguan days. Bands of howler monkeys passing through the branches above you, toucans and mapache coming to check you out while you have your morning coffee and check the swells from the deck. There is one main bedroom, one with a queen, one with four doubles and a separate ‘mother in law’ suite. All super comfortable with AC. Plenty of space for a group. Everyone at Playa Maderas beach and the local brekkie spot were amazing. If you love nature, beach, surf, dogs and outside-in house design, this is your paradise!

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at this beautiful home — it was the perfect place for our family of four to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Nicaragua. From the moment we arrived, the space felt welcoming, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location is incredible — just a short stroll to one of the top surfing beaches in the area — and the close proximity to the beach was amazing for our teens, who took surf lessons every day and loved every minute of it. Lindsay’s recommendations were spot on and made our trip truly special. Every restaurant, activity, and beach she suggested ended up being a highlight, including have someone come and cook an authentic Nica meal for us at the house. The house itself was perfect for our family visiting from NYC — plenty of space, great indoor-outdoor living, and a lovely pool. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our Nicaraguan adventure. We’re already dreaming of our next stay here and can’t recommend it enough!

This home is very comfortable with gorgeous views. Beach on one side and jungle on the other. It’s well maintained, clean, and it was stocked with everything we needed. It was peaceful and the wifi worked great for our whole family. Lindsay was very communicative throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Lindsay's house is as described and even prettier than the photos in my opinion. It is a real little paradise where we can enjoy nature in peace away from the crowds of San Juan Del Sur. The proximity of the beaches of Marseille (wow for the sunset) and Maderas is a big plus. Access was a bit complicated due to the new Caraterra Costañera but this has nothing to do with the house or Lindsay. This road, once completed, will be a real gem for access between beaches! The house has everything you need to cook and enjoy the place. The housekeeper, Andy, was incredibly helpful in booking activities away from the crowds and super reliable. Communication with Lindsay was perfect. Fast, detailed and helpful. This house is a gem that we highly recommend!

This place was absolutely amazing. We had very high expectations and it didnt disappoint. The photos online don’t do justice to the views you have in person, of the rock down on the ocean and the sunset. the short walk down to the beach is its own amazing experience down the stairway that opens up to the beach that’s has both private spots and also other spots with all the amenities at the restaurants. We had a blast, cheap surfboard rentals on the beach for our teenager while our toddler spent hours in the warm tide pools. The house itself is ergonomically designed so we could hang in the living room or be cooking in the kitchen while also keeping an eye on our daughter practicing learning how to swim in the pool. the house is beautiful and is set up so you can enjoy both scenes of the jungle in the back yard and the beach views from the front. Don’t skip the outdoor tub or shower. we made some great family memories here and wish we could have stayed a lot longer!

Lindsay was a wonderful and accomadationing host! We had the an amazing time! The property was beautiful and was just as perfect as what was in the pictures! The sunsets were so pretty! The cleaner that came everyday was very nice and kept the house and laundry in order. All the suggestions that Lindsay gave ahead of time were really helpful. We tried many of them! I can’t tell you how much we really loved it! It’s a beautiful home with a great host! Thank you for making our first time ever to Nicaragua special!

I’ve lived and traveled around Nicaragua for the past 4 years and our stay here at Lindsay’s is probably in my top 3! The pictures are beautiful but they don’t justify the places real beauty and tranquility. The house is a perfect balance between modern and luxurious while still feeling warm and heartfelt. The location is ideal for nature lovers and surfers, being place up in the hills makes the air more cool and taking a hit bath underneath the full moon and stars was just amazing! I highly recommend, I’m even considering coming back for a honeymoon in the future. Thank you so much Lindsay, you made my husbands birthday a memory we will cherish for a very long time.

My wife and I were debating between Nicaragua and Costa Rica and we are so happy we finally decided on Nicaragua, in no small part because of our host Lindsay, who made our stay just perfect! She took care of literally everything for us; from a great local chef who cooked for us every day (morning fresh smoothies of local fruits and fresh local catch from the ocean on the BBQ were the highlights!), surf classes for our three boys by the nicest local surf coach and she even took care of our local 4x4 car rental. Lindsay’s designer house is fantastic, so much attention to detail and with beautiful ocean views; a cold plunge for post surf recovery and a yoga deck! The rooms are really comfortable and well designed and the outside bathroom of the master bedroom is just such an amazing idea. Couldn’t recommend this place more for people who care about great service and a well designed home away from home; thank you Lindsay!

One of the most special place we stayed in!A home away from home, the design of this house is so unique, the nature is incredible and the views! It was hard to leave. Lindsay was a great host and helped us with any questions we had. We can not wait to come back and discover more. The house was very comfortable, and we loved the sunsets by the pool and the cold plunge! Perfect after surf moments. The location was ideal for us, a few minutes walk from a lot of incredible tropical beaches and great little restaurants by the water and a very short drive to San Juan if you need to shop! The neighborhood is very safe and we loved meeting the families who live close by. It is a special place for sure. Also great surfing spots for many different levels.
