Super comfy, all the rooms are spacious. The kitchen is spacious, some kitchen utensils are missing but it has the essentials. Definitely a good option for a vacation. Black beach and alleys are super close. There's a mini supermarket nearby.
The place looks nice. A few things I’d like to mention is a lack of privacy, my wife didn’t feel at ease knowing there were other men on the property lingering around and that the front door had no key which could be used to lock it. So whenever we left the Airbnb our items were vulnerable and could be taken at any time. The host kept coming around which we both didn’t like. Also we constantly had to ask for towels and other items. The refrigerator filter needed to be replaced. Then 4 days after we checked out he accused my wife and I of putting a dent in his refrigerator and was harassing us for compensation. There are about 2 restaurants in the area worth going to. A beach that’s close by, but the airport and tourist area of Tamarindo is about 1h30 m away. Please read this review and ask yourself if it’s worth it to book with his host. This is the first negative review I have ever left for a property, I have a 5 star rating and this is the first Airbnb that I will never return to.

All of our other reviews have been unanimously positive and reflect the quality of our hospitality, as anyone can read in the comments about our listing. ✅ Presence and Security: The property spans one hectare and has only three people on-site: – Marvin, our caretaker, who lives in a small house at the entrance and ensures 24/7 security. – Erika, my wife, and myself, who live in a separate house further down the property, surrounded by dense vegetation and completely apart from the guest space. We therefore offer a peaceful, private, and very secure environment. ✅ Privacy and Amenities: Your room had a locking door, and a safe was provided for your personal belongings. We also offered you a key to lock the living room and kitchen area, which you declined—just like most of our guests, who prefer the ease of access. ✅ Availability and Service: We responded immediately to every request you made: – Additional towels, – Assistance offered when your wife injured her foot, – A Berkey-filtered water tank provided as soon as we noticed the fridge filter needed replacing. You mentioned having to ask for other items—yet we remain unaware of any such request beyond those listed above. ✅ Warm Hospitality: We even offered you, as a kind gesture, our homemade artisan hot sauces, which we normally sell at local markets. This gift is usually very much appreciated by our guests. ✅ Check-out and Condition of the Property: You left without notice, without check-out, without saying goodbye, and in a particularly poor state of cleanliness. In five years, we have never experienced such a lack of respect for our property. ✅ Damaged Refrigerator: Multiple clear dents were found on the refrigerator door after your departure. We attempted to contact you in a constructive spirit to understand how this could have happened. This was not an accusation, but a normal follow-up. Airbnb reviewed the situation, acknowledged our claim, and granted compensation in our favor. In conclusion, we remain committed to our values of genuine hospitality, thoughtful attention, and mutual respect. Our stay at Harold's Airbnb was simply spectacular. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures, with a lovely and inviting design. From the first moment, Harold and the caretaker, Don Marvin, were incredibly friendly and helpful. Don Marvin was always available to help us with anything we needed and he offered us great recommendations to enjoy our visit to the fullest. The house is equipped with all the necessary amenities for an extended stay, which made us feel at home. Every detail was taken care of and the cleanliness was impeccable. The tranquility and beauty of the environment made our experience unforgettable. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Thank you to Harold and Don Marvin for making our trip such a memorable experience.
Wonderful stay at Rancho Coco with our young children. They loved the pool and the beautiful surrounding. Beautifully appointed casa with almost everything you might need for your stay. One of the air conditioning units had some issues during our stay but Harold and Marvin handled it quickly getting it fixed. The only other request would be to have a clothes washer available on property but everything else was so great that it was not an issue at all. Harold communicates very well and is highly responsive. Don’t hesitate to stay at Rancho Coco.
Harold’s place in the jungle was amazing. Peaceful even with the monkeys howling in the mornings and early evenings. Harold was super responsive and very kind. Would definitely stay again!

Harold's place was fantastic for our family vacation - there were 6 of us; two couples with 2 toddlers under 2. Each couple was able to have a private room with a king bed and then each toddler used one of the other rooms to sleep in which made it easier for day-time naps. We were a bit worried about safety around the pool with the toddlers, because the pool is not enclosed with a fence, but it ended up not being bad at all, we just kept an eye on the kids vigilantly and after a day or two they knew not to go towards the pool without an adult with them. The open air kitchen and dining outdoors, and how it seamlessly flows into the indoor covered kitchen and living space was the best, and really great to have considering we knew we would be spending more time at the accommodation with 2 kids that required naps in the middle of the day. Your surrounded by lots of animals - monkeys, birds, geckos, bugs of all sorts; which we personally loved. Felt very close to nature! Pura Vida!
Excellent choice in Guanacaste, a 5-20min drive from multiple beaches, our favorite Playa Blanca. Lots of restaurant options nearby. Very comfortable house, modern, good atmosphere and with all the necessary and quality utensils. Well equipped kitchenette, grill, etc... Small but beautifully designed pool, spectacular on the return of a day at the beach.

Our coconut ranch stay was exceptional! The house is the same as in the photos, quite modern and has everything for up to 10 people! We went 7, until we had space. A super safe place. Marvin's service was also excellent. The house is very spacious and close to quite a few very nice guanacaste beaches. The air conditioning serves perfectly, which is a plus for the heat. We will definitely be back again soon! (let us bring our dogs which is a plus)

Harold was an amazing host with a beautiful, well maintained home. He made us feel very comfortable, safe and was incredibly accommodating. Harold and Marvin always made themselves available whenever we had a question or needed anything. The location was close to the beach, restaurants and markets. The locals in this area were also very friendly.
I had an amazing time at Rancho Coco this past weekend! I hosted a 5 night retreat, and we had 9 guests total, including myself. From the moment I booked this Airbnb, Harold was extremely helpful, responsive, and friendly. Every single one of my guests loved the home, the grounds, and the privacy! Harold was awesome with recommendations, and since I live in Playas del Coco, he also invited me to come and visit the Villa a month prior to our check-in date to meet him and look at the space. Marvin is the groundskeeper who lives in a Casita behind the property… And he was absolutely incredible, he provided us with everything we needed in a timely manner. Harold also recommended an AMAZING shuttle driver, Sergio, who brought our group EVERYWHERE and he// someone from his team ensured that we always arrived safely to each destination. Overall, this experience was AWESOME — I highly highly recommend Rancho Coco!🩷
A beautiful space that was perfect for our group. The house itself is incredible, with everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. Everything was as pictured and super clean. The caretaker, Marvin, was always available and very helpful. The place felt very secure. The location is superb, close to Playas Negra and Avellanas. We did the short trip to Tamarindo twice, which was quite easy. If we’re in the area again we will definitely stay at Rancho Coco! We highly recommend.
