4BR Villa in Akumal

Excellent, 4 months ago

The House is great Adolfo and the staff (Elizabeth and Victor) were cheerful and helpful as Carlos (senior and junior) the cooks who prepared great Mexican (specifically Yucatan) food and were also helpful. Aldofo recommended some good places to eat. Altogether a very successful stay for us, a three generation family. A very good area away from the main tourist drag but close enough to Tulum (shops and supermarkets etc) and interesting places in the interior.

Take me back to El Charalito! This place is a dream, and I cannot wait to go back. The house was beautiful and fully equipped. Fresh hot and cold water, all the cooking things we needed, life vests, paddle boards/kayaks, indoor and outdoor dining and living spaces: nothing was overlooked. From the kitchen to the beach, we did not need a thing. Elisabeth and Victor were so kind and helped to keep everything immacculate! Adolfo recommended some perfect activities and we really appreciated Chef Carlo. The place couldn’t have been better!

Highly recommend! Adolfo's place on the beach was absolutely perfect for me and my family! Waking up to the beautiful Mexican sunrises right over the water for a week was amazing. The place was clean, the pool was warm, and everything was exactly as we hoped it would be. The house staff, Victor and Elizabeth, were friendly, attentive, and took care of everything we needed. Keeping the pool warm and clean was a huge plus as the kids spent most of their time when we were home. Also, since the house isn't super walkable to local restaurants or downtown Akumal, Adolfo recommended Carlos, an extremely professional, capable, and friendly private chef. He cooked the best Mexican food we had on the trip and he was available for us all week. His rates were reasonable and he kept the while family very well fed. Honestly, his cooking and hospitality was one of the highlights of our trip! The beach and snorkeling were amazing, and we had a blast at Xel-Ha, cenotes, and Coba ruins. Thank you!!

We just got back from a stay in an Airbnb villa in Mexico… and honestly, it was exceptional 🤍🌴 Adolfo was an amazing host: ultra-fast communication, always available, kind and professional from start to finish. We felt really taken care of, without ever having to ask any questions. And what about Elizabeth and Victor, the on-site cleaning staff… wow. So welcoming, friendly, caring, always attentive to our needs. Impeccable service, a real luxury. The villa is beautiful, super clean, perfectly maintained, and the location… it's a dream. The views are simply spectacular, a panorama that you never get tired of. It's the kind of place you have to discover at least once in a lifetime. I would definitely go back. If you are looking for a magical place in Mexico, I would 100% recommend it ✨🌊

El charalito was perfect for our 5 day trip to Tulum for my teens and almost teen! Plenty of space to stretch out (even a separate guest cottage we didn’t use but instead had our projector we brought to show movies) clean, spacious and the outdoor area was epic! Stunning views right on ocean and lovely warm pool. Felt very safe as it’s in between resorts so we got the best large space w the same amazing beach. We rented a car which is a must. The only dining walkable is the bar next door which is great but some nights we drove into town (15 min). Amazing golf course across the highway that was actually walkable if needed. Used the private chef for a dinner when we arrived (and he could grab us some groceries!) and also a wonderful taco lunch. We loved our trip. Woke up early to see sunrise which is a must. Truly stunning area and so much to do very close-cenotes, nature preserves, tortoise etc.

This was our second year at Casa El Charlito and we really love this home and the wonderful folks who work there. The location cannot be beat. The beach is quiet but there is still so much to do nearby. Victor and Elizabeth really go above and beyond to take care of their guests and we left feeling like they were a part of the family. Carlos and Carlos Jr. make the best food we had during our stay in Mexico. During our stay the seaweed made the ocean almost impossible to access but that's just kind of luck of the draw in that area at that time of year. We made the best of the pool and still enjoyed beach walks and playing in the sand. Victor made us daily paths through the seaweed to the ocean which was greatly appreciated! We did have an unfortunate interaction with two of the volunteers from the turtle sanctuary next door. We tried to be very respectful of the animals but they repeatedly came on to the property to yell about certain lights that were outside of our control.

Our group of four hardworking moms came looking for a quiet, comfortable beachfront stay and Adolfo's place truly delivered! We were thrilled with our entire visit. The house is private, peaceful, comfortable and spacious. The house staff made us feel so welcome and taken care of, and we loved everything that Chef Carlos prepared for us. Highly recommend hiring him to make meals to maximize relaxation and not have to deal with logistics of grocery shopping. We kept talking about coming back for a future friends trip, or with our spouses and kids in tow - I hope we can make it happen!

We had a magical week at Adolfo’s place with our family of 5 adults and 2 kids. The location is spectacular and the kids loved being able to play on the beach and jump in the pool. Early risers will love the sunrise view from the beach. The location itself is an amazing jumping off point to enjoy Akumal (great taco spots in town!), Tulum, and local cenotes and eco parks. We were a bit anxious about not having AC in the main living area but the breeze was beautiful and it allowed us to really embrace indoor/outdoor living. The caretaking staff are wonderful and very helpful - they helped us arrange for massages at the house and kept the property meticulously clean. We also took advantage of Chef Carlos’s services and are so happy we did. The house itself is very comfortable. Showing its age in places but we appreciated it being un-fussy - especially with young kids. The kitchen is well-appointed with dishes but you’ll need to bring your own basic cooking supplies.

We loved the location, cannot beat being right on the beach. It felt very private and peaceful. We did not love the food at the bar next door, but it was convenient, and there was no issue with noise. There was live music playing for a few hours in the afternoon, rather pleasant and not too loud. No issues at night, you would not know it's there. We did love chef Carlos's dinners, we had him over twice, and these were the best meals (and the best value) we've had during our stay. Victor and his wife were very sweet and helpful, we hope to be back next year.

We had a wonderful stay in Akumal. We were a group of 5 adults and 3 kids (infant, 3,6) and the place was well set up for our group. The beach was beautiful and so accessible right out the back door, the pool was perfect for the kids, and the outdoor space was so comfortable and inviting. The neighborhood was peaceful and relaxed. There was a portable crib available for the baby. We had chef Carlos come for a few breakfasts and dinners and the food was amazing-such a treat. We visited Akumal Natura Rescue, the Tulum ruins, and Yax-kin cenote, all wonderful and close by. Would highly recommend this place.
