We had a wonderful month at Hilltop House. We enjoyed all of the wildlife. There are beautiful scarlet macaw that roost in the neighborhood and watching them fly by every morning and evening was a highlight. Iguana antics are sure to amuse the kids. Watching the wacky Toucan fight with his reflection was hilarious, but best by far were the daily visits from the sweetest neighborhood dog you will ever meet. Everyone was always excited to see Chloe. We all laughed so hard when she started chasing cows down the street. Our favorite part about the house was the pool and we spent 80% of our waking hours swimming or working poolside. We did have a few mechanical things fail while we were there. We didn't have internet for the first few days, and the power occasionally went out in the neighborhood, but these things are par for the course in Costa Rica. The dirt road to the house is very rough/steep. It is manageable with a 2-wheel drive, but not ideal. Very safe neighborhood!

You can’t beat the views, sunrises, animals from the top deck. Monkeys, toucans, macaws, etc. We saw turtles on the beach, sloths, etc. The pool was awesome, super refreshing multiple times a day. We didn’t have a car for much of our time there (2 months) and didn’t mind walking all over, even to the bus stop on the highway multiple times to go to Jaco or Quepos, etc. You can get Ubers there as well that come from Jaco. Don’t be afraid to try the homemade tamales from the lady who has a hole in the wall shop behind the super sol. They are awesome! Pura vida! Thanks again!!

This is a great place to stay. Plenty of birds in the morning to sit on the upper deck with a cup of coffee each morning. Manuel Antonio and other places are 1 hour away. This is a great place for a large group that wants a place that’s a bit off the beaten path.

Great house and location. Great place for multiple groups with 2 kitchens. The pool is great, one of the few pools in my stays in Costa Rica where it's deep at one end. The 3rd floor observation deck is great for bird watch and relaxing. There's a Toucan that comes by almost nightly. Lots of other wildlife to see as well. Short walk to the beach and restaurants.

The house is perfect for sharing a vacation with friends and family, awesome 360 lookout with beautiful views. The pool is fantastic, definitely deep, but our 2 year old had no problem enjoying it with his floaties on. Conveniently located down the hill was a great little grocery store, restaurants, and of course, the ocean with a lovely beach. We would definitely stay here again.

This house had a great location and beautiful top deck. The view from the top was absolutely stunning, we saw many monkeys and toucans. The walk down to the beach was short and safe. The house was clean and felt very safe. Great for families.

We absolutely fell in love with Esterillos Oeste! The house was perfect for our month long stay with our children (4 and 5yo). It was the perfect home base to take long weekend trips or stay close and enjoy the easy walk to the beach. We had friends and family visit and never felt short on space. We booked additional services at the house including Chef Laura for private meals, Yoleny’s fabulous house cleaning service and Florys came to do massages from rooftop deck. We saw beautiful wildlife from the top deck and were able to comfortably work from the home using the consistent WiFi. There were a few issues with water and electricity, and the gate but our house manager took care of everything promptly and made our stay so enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend a stay at Hilltop House in Esterillos!

Large, bright, spacious, airy, clean, super nice. Quick communication and a lot of kindness from Yocselyn and housekeeper Yorleny. A beautiful place for family vacations.

Beautiful views, lovely pool, lots of space in the house! We saw monkeys from the top deck on our first evening, and the birds and there wildlife around the house is wonderful. Nice and quiet area, and Jocselyn is super helpful.

The pictures do not do this house justice, it is even more beautiful in real life. Every outside area is incredible and there is plenty of space for a number of people without getting in each others way. The views are incredible and it's a close (albeit steep) walk to the beach. The decor is stunning, think Swiss Family Robinson meets Architectural Digest. We particularly loved the pool (it has a ledge all around that is at a perfect height for sitting and sipping cocktails) and the outside shower beside it, perfect for rinsing off after the beach or a dip. The views from the third floor are indescribable. Ana and her daughter Yocseliny were outstanding hosts and the communication was fabulous. They made sure we had everything we might need - a bag of coffee and creamer for our first morning, paper towels and plenty of toilet paper, lots and lots of towels, comfy beds with lots of pillows. There was even shampoo, conditioner and soap in the bathrooms. The local supermarket is well stocked and can supply you with any basics and essentials - food, beer, sunscreen, etc. I cannot recommend this house enough!
