Great vacation spot for families! The house matched the listing perfectly, and the bunk room was a hit with the kids. We ended up spending most of our time enjoying the outdoor space. A tip: rent a golf cart during your stay. It made getting around the neighborhood so easy. The beach club is gorgeous and only $5/person a day for swimming. It’s also just a short golf cart ride to the JW Marriott if you want more restaurant and pool options. We also spent time at Lola’s, which was perfect for lunch and relaxing by the beach. Overall, a wonderful trip we’d recommend to any family. We hope to be back in Costa Rica again soon

This house was perfect for our family! We had more than enough beach and pool towels and all the kitchen utensils we needed. The house is beautiful and really felt like home. Book this house! You will not be disappointed!

Costa Rica stole our hearts, and Michael’s home and crew are most of the reason why. Besides being a simply stunning home nestled in what feels like a private oasis, Jeff (house manager) went above and beyond to make us feel right at home, like family coming for a visit. Being our first time, it certainly won’t be our last. Despite an impactful road closure that made traveling to and from the house a bit hard, Jeff and Henry (driver) made sure we could be out and about to see the sights and do the things. Their recommendations for food, fishing, snorkeling, and anything else were spot on and mostly because of the kindness and attention to service by everyone we encountered. We enjoyed the beach club and staff, early morning “monkey hunt” walks, relaxing by the pool listening to the local birds and critters, rest in comfortable beds, sharing meals in the well-appointed kitchen, and playing games on the outdoor porch at night almost as much as experiencing the surrounding towns!

We had the best family vacation in this home! It exceeded our expectations in every way, it’s stunning and the perfect size for privacy and relaxation. Jeff was an AMAZING house manager, meeting to let us in, helping arrange golf, tours, and reservations, he went above and beyond with all of his help. We loved staying here and felt completely safe, I wouldn’t hesitate to book this home again. It was truly lovely!

From beginning to end, our stay was fantastic simply because of the concierge service Jeff provides. Leading up to the trip, Jeff offered invaluable advice/suggestions to help us plan our trip. Throughout our stay, Jeff was always present albeit in the subtlest of ways. He coordinated travel to/from the airport; recommended restaurants; connected us with a fishing guide; sourced our groceries; connected us with Roxanna; and gave us great insight on the local culture and attractions. Jeff simplified the whole experience, which let us focus on relaxing with our family. If you go, have Roxanna prepare at least one meal for you. She is absolutely wonderful and provides an unforgettable Costa Rican cuisine experience. Her ceviche will change your life. Couldn’t recommend this house enough because Jeff’s service is next level. And, the house is exactly as advertised. It’s stunning, and Hacienda Pinilla is a wonderful neighborhood.

Michael’s place was absolutely outstanding! What made this place different from all of my previous stays was the local host, Jeff. Jeff had to have been one of the most welcoming and helpful people I’ve ever encountered in my travels. He arranged transportation from the airport, a golf cart, local reservations at restaurants, surf lessons, and other helpful advice. The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our family of six. There was plenty of room in the house. The outdoor showers were a great experience for all of our kids. The pool was beautiful and extremely private and quiet. There was almost no noise from neighbors. The community was great with access to restaurants at the JW Marriott and the beach club nearby. There is a small market within the community, but grocery stores were not all that far away. Jeff arranged for a local chef to prepare an amazing meal. Highly recommend this experience. Book this place without hesitation!

What a wonderful house. House is located in a quiet gated community. Plenty of room for a family. Large bedrooms. Each full bathroom had its own outdoor shower which we enjoyed. The pool patio area is beautiful and was extensively used. Our host, Jeffrey was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this house.

One of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed at! The home is beautiful and spacious—perfect for two families. The beach is a short drive (walkable for adults), and we spent hours boogie boarding, surfing, and collecting shells. The kids loved the neighbourhood basketball court, and the daily monkey sightings on the way to the beach were such a fun bonus. Evenings were all about sunsets and beach walks to Lola’s for drinks and dinner. We also really enjoyed cooking at the house and eating outside. Jeff, the house manager, was incredible—helping with everything from surf lessons to reservations and planned a fun excursion for us one day. Truly one of the most relaxing trips we have ever been on. We can't wait to book again! Thanks again for everything Mike, Jeff and Henry (our amazing driver)

Been to Costa Rica many times. So far, this has been our favorite Airbnb by far. House is amazing!! The layout is impressive and very well designed. Beds were super comfy and clean. Communication was excellent and very helpful. This is definitely a 5 star stay! Will definitely come back.

We loved this property but were not totally prepared for how remote it is-you are at the mercy of the house manager and drivers etc. We loved Jeff- he was great! But we didn’t know upon arrival how remote we’d be!

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this beautiful home in Pinilla, Costa Rica. The property itself is stunning - immaculately maintained and every detail felt intentional with thoughtfully designed spaces (we loved that each bathroom had both indoor and outdoor showers) - the perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The house layout was great for two families to share, with plenty of space for everyone - it truly felt like a private retreat where we could relax and fully enjoy our time. What really elevated the experience, though, was our concierge, Jeff. He went above and beyond as a concierge, helping us plan day trips, make dinner reservations, and discover the best things to do in the area. His recommendations were spot-on, his communication was seamless, and he made everything feel effortless from start to finish. It honestly felt like having a trusted local friend making sure our trip was perfect. This was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had - highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this home! Everything about the visit was spectacular from start to finish. The house itself is phenomenal and even better than the photos. The community and the beach club were so lovely as well. Jeff, who manages the house, was excellent to work with, both before the trip and once we arrived. He kindly and graciously guided us through everything from transportation (car service , golf cart), groceries, and arranging meals to be cooked at the home, etc. We traveled with young kids so we spent many days at the beach club and rented the golf cart to get around the community, which worked really well! We used the car service which was super professional and reliable for excursions, airport, etc. I would say if you are planing to explore more on a daily basis, may be more cost effective to rent a car! Overall, we cannot say enough about how fabulous this experience was, would absolutely recommend this house and look forward to staying again!

The house is absolutely modern and beautiful. totally perfect! we were a large family and felt so comfortable enjoyed every moment. definitely recommend getting golf carts for easy access to the pinilla Beach Club. the town of Avallenas is nearby with amazing restaurants, local surf town feell. What truly made our stay amazing was Jeff the host. He went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our trip was perfect, whatever we needed, he was available to make it happen. having someone like Jeff as your host with a vacation rental like this really makes all the difference. it just wouldn't have been the same without him. he made everything happen. we had a chef come one night to cook us dinner. we had a masseuse come to the house to give massages. the cleaning help is professional, amazing and pleasant, and we are so grateful!! And of course Henry the driver! Amazing service and Mike is the most amazing owner!! do not hesitate to book this house. it is the best! Ty Jeff, Ty Mike

Mike’s place was perfect for us! The house is immaculate, comfortable and beautiful. We loved having multiple eating areas inside and out, and the pool was awesome. Jeff, the house manager, did the best job & was very responsive. It made our stay super easy. He also got us great restaurant reservations and made other great recommendations along the way! We loved out stay and will definitely be back.
