Aldo At Costa Nube

Aldo’s place was exactly as described, it was our home from home during our travels. The facilities are amazing, there are lots of lovely areas to sit & chill out. I would add to comments regarding mosquitos, around sunrise & sunset they are at their most active & would recommend buying a local insect repellant as soon as you arrive on the island, the taxi that picks you up from the ferry port will be more than happy to stop off at the shop on the way to dropping you off to Costa Nube. We got very badly bitten on the first night using sprays that we bought from home, after we made the switch & timed our journeys we were fine. The busier part of town is about a 20 minute walk, we had lots of fun exploring the island on foot. Caye Caulker will always hold a special place in our hearts, it was one of our best holidays & we would definitely stay at Costa Nube again & recommend to others. Good hosts, apartment was nice and had lots of amenities. The bike rentals for free were amazing during our trip. The rooftop views were great. The mosquitoes at night on the island were harsh without bug spray but that has nothing to do with the Airbnb just something to be aware of when staying in Caye Caulker in July. The AC in the room was cool but did not fully cool down the whole apartment which was a minor mark on this place. Overall good place to stay. Just be aware you will be a bit away from the main part of town, which has both pros and cons.

Costa Nube was great! we enjoyed having our own kitchen and outdoor grill, use of bikes and paddle boards. it was very clean. Great views, comfortable outdoor seating area and rooftop patio, perfect for yoga.

What a cool place to stay. The communal rooftop is super cool. You will need to bike ride in order to reach the main part of the island, but they graciously provide you bikes which is super helpful. The only thing you must be weary of is the area where this bnb is located is mosquito CENTRAL. During the day you’ll be fine. But at night, expect to be eaten alive if you’re outside of the Airbnb. We would ride our bikes back around 9:30-10. And as soon as you slow down enough for the mosquitos to land on you they would swarm. Make sure you wear bug spray when approaching or leaving the Airbnb at night.

My husband and I loved our week at Costa Nube. Aldo has designed and built a beautiful property that makes you feel so welcomed and comfortable. We enjoyed our evenings on the upper level deck watching the sunset with a lovely island breeze. Costa Nube is a little south of town which makes for a quiet and peaceful stay. Aldo also provides bikes with rental and it is a short ride to town. If you aren't interested in riding bikes, rent a golf cart, you won't regret your stay at this beautiful property. We loved riding the bikes to town and all over the island, even to the far north end and back. The colors, the artwork, the deck areas, the furnishings combine to make a perfect place to experience Caye Caulker. Highly recommend you spend some time at Costa Nube and take in the island vibe.

We loved staying here! The bike rides to and from the place were one of my favorite things. We used their fishing poles. The line was old and kept breaking but we had fun nonetheless! We tried using the paddle boards but it was very windy that day so we ended up only being out for 5 minutes, and were too heavy to carry to a different beach. The views on the roof were so beautiful and relaxing. The room and outside the house were fantastic. We felt very safe and at home!

We had such a lovely stay! Aldo is awesome and we felt like we needed to stay another two or 3 days, just to use all of the fun activities that are included with the Airbnb. Like the kayaks and paddleboards. Hopefully we will be back one day! Location was absolutely perfect for us as we loved the peace and quiet, but keep in mind it is a walk/bide ride/golf cart ride into the main part of town.

If you’re scrolling through Airbnbs trying to stay budget-friendly and comparing options, just forget it and book Costa Nube. Even if it seems slightly more expensive at first, it is absolutely worth it. This place is unlike any Airbnb I’ve stayed in. The fourth floor has incredible views and even includes yoga equipment, while the third floor has a super relaxing, chill vibe with hammocks to unwind in. It’s located on a peaceful, quieter side of the island, which makes the whole experience feel even more special. Aldo, the host, truly goes above and beyond. He provides bikes, snorkeling gear, paddle boards, pretty much anything you could need. He’s also extremely responsive and will connect you with local contacts and give helpful tips for anything you want to do. One thing to know: everyone uses Whats App here, so there’s no need to stress about booking activities in advance. You can easily plan everything once you arrive. The island is small, friendly and feels like paradise. Enjoy!

Costa Nube was exactly what we were looking for. Off the beaten path but convenient to get everywhere. We took advantage of the complimentary bikes and rode our pair every day. Took them all over the island and up to Bliss Beach on the north island. Aldo and Colleen supplied headlamps which made it easy to get back even after dark, since there aren't lights south of the airport. The location was quiet all day, but especially peaceful in the evening. The rooftop patios were great places to read, write, nap, or just relax. The breeze up top was always welcome. Our suite was clean, well supplied, and comfortable. The bedroom had A/C and blackout curtains which made sleeping in easy after enjoying late nights out. The bed was very comfortable, and my wife is picky. Aldo was prompt and helpful when needing additional drinking water, coffee, sugar, etc and always had great recommendations on activities and restaurants. Wish we could have stayed longer! Would highly recommend.

Aldo and Kolleen were really attentive hosts! The apartment had tons of amenities -everything was thought of and the upper common areas are SUBLIME! Make sure to schedule before you arrive a drop-off w/ one of the taxi drivers they recommend, not just anyone waiting at the water taxi otherwise it could be hard to find and you could get overcharged (we had a poor experience with a random taxi driver bc we didnt schedule this in advance and it's not the fault of the hosts that Google indicates very poorly). Overall we were absolutely thrilled with our stay there, its peaceful, away from the noise of downtown in a little nature haven. The only downside is there is one section of road coming in that this very rough with the bikes (rocks and large ruts), and also the coastal route you have to lift the bike over some sections, but we were very thankful to have the bikes as a resource, and the bikes are in good condition. For people who want a quiet retreat, it's absolutely amazing.

They were very hospitable and kind. The room was very accommodating. We only got to stay one of our 3 nights but it was a wonderful evening.

Amazing place to stay. Aldo was professional but also super chill and leaves the guests to their privacy. We greatly appreciated the complimentary golf cart rides, so helpful! The public rooftop spaces are delightful for remote work. Don’t hesitate to book!

My Partner and I had a fantastic stay at Costa Nube. Aldo our host was so friendly and helpful. Not only did he give us great recommendations for our stay, he also went out of his way to take us to the airport so we didn't have to walk our suitcase. Aside from having an amazing, responsive, kind host the place was magical. Aldo and his wife have clearly spent a lot of time creating this gorgeous stay and it elevated our experience so much. From the amenities he lets you use (yoga matts, kayak, paddleboards) to the cleanliness of the place. When my partner and I come back we will absolutely with no doubt stay with him again.
