The Boho Villa

The place is a five star stay for sure. The only reason I am not yet providing five stars is that when we arrived we were surprised by the fact that the fridge was not working. It was fixed the next morning and promised a refund for the first night. That was amazing, but in a super hot location like Santa Teresa, a working fridge is vital.

Very good in general terms. Natalia, our host, was very friendly and responded to our needs very quickly and efficiently.

We thought the house was spectacular. It is very spacious and beautiful, and we really enjoyed our stay. Everything was well maintained, and the place really does provide everything you need to spend a few pleasant days. However, there was one detail that bothered us. One day, two men came to do pool maintenance while we were using the space. As a group, we were looking for privacy, and we just wanted to use the pool, but we had to wait for them to finish. Also, when we returned from the beach, they were parked in the space designated for our vehicles, which was also inconvenient. We understand that maintenance is necessary, but we suggest that these types of visits be scheduled when the house has no guests, or at least with prior notice, so as not to impact the guest experience or privacy. As a constructive criticism, the dining room chairs are a bit hard; perhaps adding cushions could make them more comfortable and further enhance the stay.

The villa is very nice and comfortable, with the exception of the 4th bedroom (semi-detached from the main house), given the number of bugs that constantly came in (something that did not happen in the main house). We found spiders, centipedes, cockroaches, and worms (more than you would naturally encounter in Costa Rica; the main house did not have this problem). I appreciate Nati’s willingness to help us with the fumigation the next day, but that room is not well sealed and it didn’t work; in the end, we crammed into the 3 bedrooms in the house. We stayed for a week and had housekeeping every day (Huvania 10/10), but the same couldn't be said for the pool maintenance. Even though they were supposed to check it halfway through the week (and I also requested cleaning), in the last few days, it was a bit disgusting how cloudy it was. Other than that, Nati was always very attentive in helping us with everything we needed, the house is very nice, the rooms (not counting the outdoor one) are comfortable, and the location is ideal.
