We had a great stay at the Pacific Surfshack for 9 days in early May - the house is exactly as advertised. Nice open layout with great ocean views. The house is easy to access, a quick 5 minutes up from the main Mal Pais- Carmen road. Would recommend 100%

This is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay with easy access to the beach (driving) and the amenities of Santa Teresa. I stayed with my two kids who attended camp at Creativo down the road. The property managers are very helpful and responsive, the owners next door are kind, the cleaner who came daily was delightful.

Beyond Beautiful! The place was perfect for my husband and I - up on the hill away from town but close enough to go enjoy the restaurants and stores. Will for sure be back in the future!

We loved the place, the house and its layout. Check-out at 10:00 am is a bit complicated. It's a morning that you can only pack for departure since there is not much time to go to the beach that last day before leaving, mainly because of the distance. Other than that, everything was very good. Safe and wonderful view.

The Surf Shack was the loveliest oasis to stay in. From the moment you walk through the front door, you’re greeted by a breathtaking view of the infinity pool and ocean beyond. It instantly sets the tone for a truly special stay. The open-air design makes you feel beautifully connected to the surroundings, creating a light, refreshing atmosphere that invites you to relax and unwind. The space is perfectly appointed with tasteful, comfortable décor, and the kitchen has everything you could want, making cooking in a real pleasure, especially with that view. We loved every moment: moving in and out of the pool throughout the day, preparing meals overlooking the ocean, and soaking in the sunset each evening. A midnight swim under the stars is an absolute must. As others have mentioned, the drive up is not for the faint of heart and a 4-wheel drive is essential, but it’s more than worth it once you arrive.

Wow 1000/10. If you are traveling to Santa Teresa, book this Airbnb. It is in Mal Pais which is like right down the road, out of the hustle and bustle but super close to everything. You drive up a massive hill to get here but it is quite fun on an ATV & so so worth it for the BEAUTIFUL view. The Airbnb is so beautifully designed & one of those places you never want to leave. Tomas was so helpful throughout our stay. Marina, the cleaner, cleaned daily & even did some laundry for us. I could go on & on but it is truly paradise!

Yes, the path is a mental challenge ....but it is a paradise ...all 4 of us were blown away ....a beautiful place ...a piece of heaven ...Thank you for this great time and like our last accommodation: 5 stars were too few ....

The surfshack is gorgeous! Amenities were top notch, Rylie connected us with his concierge Tomas who was very friendly and checked in on us a few times during our travel to make sure we were having any issues. We asked about an ATV and they had one delivered to us and they even came and picked it up when we left, that made things very convenient. 100% need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the house and would definitely recommend an ATV to drive around Santa Teresa. We left out some dirty clothes from a hike we had done in the jungle the day before and we came back and the housekeeper had come and cleaned our clothes, which was a pleasant surprise! The sunsets and sunrises in the home was unbeatable! There are very beautiful flowers everywhere in the garden around the pool which leads to plenty of different birds, and hearing howler monkeys from the beach below. Would definitely recommend and would return to enjoy this beautiful home.

What a beautiful place, gorgeous house and a view to die for. Tranquil, relaxing with enough butterflies to remind you that you’re still in the jungle.Tomas and Mari were extremely welcoming, helpful even before our arrival. The road is a disaster and not for the faint hearted (probably worse for us because of the rainy season) but Tomas arranged for an ATV to be delivered to us - stress-free after that. Thank you so much for sharing this treasure with us!

This property is an absolute must star in Costa Rica! You get the best of both worlds. It's close enough to town for you to try all of the local restaurants and see the beach but it's tucked up a hill, giving you privacy and close proximity to nature. Highly recommend!

The accommodation is spectacular from start to finish, as shown in the pictures. I have visited the area many times and had never stayed in such a magical place. Tomas' care was super special, we look forward to returning very soon.

Perfect welcome from Tomas who was very helpful and pleasant. The villa is very beautiful for its architecture as well as its decoration. We felt privileged to stay there. The maintenance is spotless and we particularly enjoyed the pool. Access is not easy but worth it. The semi-open concept of the living room/kitchen and toilet brings the presence of small insects but did not bother us. In short, great experience that we're not about to forget.

A 4 x4 is useful to get upstairs. Too bad there is no A/C in the bedroom with bunk bed. There was a fan, but it didn't work. Was immediately picked up to repair, but we never saw it again ... that was very unfortunate. The lady who comes to clean is a treasure. It's also wonderful that your clothes are washed.
