The home itself is beautiful and the location is excellent. Midway through our stay, the power went out around 8:00 p.m. We assumed it was a local outage, but after noticing that neighboring homes and restaurants still had power, we contacted the property manager. Despite multiple attempts throughout the evening, we couldn't reach anyone and ultimately turned to Airbnb for help. The owner responded very first thing the next morning and had an electrician out within hours, and the issue appeared resolved. Unfortunately, when we returned from an excursion later that day, both the power and water went out again within the hour. At that point, we were relocated to another home for the night. The relocation was an inconvenience, and the new home was farther from our preferred location. But, it was very nice, and the host arranged massages for our group, which we appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed the house, but the delayed emergency response and disruption to our stay is worth noting.
We had such an amazing stay at this beach house in Hopkins, Belize! From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, clean, and welcoming. The house itself was exactly as described—spacious, comfortable. Waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning was honestly the best part. The location is perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway. Hopkins has such a laid-back vibe, and we loved being able to explore the local restaurants, culture, and friendly community while still having our own quiet space to unwind. The host was fantastic—very responsive, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Check-in was smooth, and any questions we had were answered quickly.
The location in Hopkins is incredible. It is an amazing little village, with incredible restaurants in walkable distances. The outdoor hammock and shade area are fantastic. The fenced in area is neatly kept. But, we rented this place because of the beach and water access, which was entirely unusable due to saragassum that was never cleaned up. There was over 5’ of it on the shore, parts with a ton of garbage and glass in it. This was a big let down, as we rented this place for the beach and water access. It’s a good thing Belize had a lot more to offer for us since we couldn’t use the water here. The bottom half of the home is under construction, which we were aware of before arriving. However, early the first morning as I am enjoying my cup of coffee on one of their beautiful hammocks outside, in comes a whole crew of construction workers who just start getting to work 20 feet from where I’m laying. After contacting host, they left 30 minutes later.But we shouldn’t have had to do that
Mellow Yellow is just as pics and description. In center of main town and nice to walk around. One of the most equipped houses we have stayed in with all kitchen and bathroom accessories, nice outdoors, nice view to the sea, comfortable spaces… you do feel like you are in your own home, definitely recommend the spot.
Mellow Yellow was a perfect place to be while we fished one morning (caught about 20 red snappers, 2 barracuda and our guides caught 4 lobster and grabbed conch which they cooked on Bread and Butter Caye - amazing chefs), snorkeled, did the evening hike at Cocksomb … both with D Golden Tours…. The guides were so sweet and knowledgeable. Enjoyed our neighbors and the local food was incredible..So happy we stayed there AND the hosts accommodated us last minute! Thank you🥰
We enjoyed our stay at Mellow Yellow Beach House. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The house was beautiful and clean. The locals were very friendly. I especially enjoyed the large palapa. Wi-Fi signal was good even outside. This home made for a very relaxing getaway.
We absolutely loved our time at Mellow Yellow in Hopkins! The location was ideal—close to the beach, local restaurants, and everything we wanted to explore. The space was bright, clean, and full of charm, with all the comforts of home. We especially appreciated how peaceful and relaxed the atmosphere was—true to its name, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the mellow Hopkins vibe.

The Mellow Yellow house was everything and more. Jennifer was responsive to our questions with a very short wait time. Beautiful views with the beach just a few steps from. the back door. Restaurant recommendations were spot on. we took advantage of the bikes in the garage. Everything in town is accessible by bike. we highly recommend the Mellow Yellow house.
Mellow Yellow house was a great stay! Accommodated all four of us very well, well equipped and was a great hub during our time in Hopkins! Highly recommend!
Our second time staying at the Mellow Yellow Beach House and it was just as good as the first! Even though the weather wasn’t great, the house gives the perfect place to relax even when you can’t get down to the beach! The hosts are super responsive and the house has everything you need to be a home away from home with thoughtful touches like a little basket of bug spray, sunscreen, aloe, and even lens cleaner! We came down from Cayo for the Mango Festival and the house is in the PERFECT location. Not too close so you can’t put your kids to bed because of the music, but close enough to walk down and enjoy the festival as much as you like! Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay in Hopkins! The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and perfectly located on the beach and local restaurants. The peaceful vibe of the village, combined with the natural beauty of the coastline, made this a truly relaxing and authentic Belizean experience. I especially loved waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying tea on the porch with an ocean breeze. We had a wonderful stay at Mellow Yellow Beach House! The space was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing and memorable family vacation. The location was perfect—just steps from the beach and close to great local food and activities. We felt completely safe and at home the entire time. The Mellow Yellow was just what we needed for our stay in Hopkins! Our whole family loved how much space we had and the fenced in yard on the beach was a huge plus for our adventurous toddler and our dog. The place was spotless and had everything we could think of to give a “home away from home” feel. We will definitely book again!
