Topos treehouse is one of the most unique/coolest places I've ever stayed at. The open air concept brings you directly into the Costa Rica jungle wildlife. The views alone of all the foliage of different plants and trees surrounding the treehouse felt like you were dropped in the middle of the jungle. Everyday there were sloths up in the trees that are on topos property, another morning I seen howler monkeys passing through the property, multiple different kinds of birds and every night I walked around the pond and spotting the famous Green-red eyed Costa Rican frog along with multiple other dart frogs. The design of the tree house is hard to wrap your mind around how topo built this masterpiece from the coloring of the wood to the handcrafted posts stair case it's truly a piece of art work. 100/10 will stay here again! also the bedrooms are 100% sealed off from all wildlife/critters.

Topo's treehouse is awesome! An oasis of calm in the middle of our own little jungle. We had the most beautiful sloth sightings here! And frogs, agoutis, giant iguanas and monkeys. And Topo is a great host! After the long journey we were happy about cool water and beer and the great fruit bowl! Thank you! We highly recommend Topos Baumhaus!

I bookmarked this treehouse ten years ago with hopes of visiting one day. I'm so glad we did. If you dream about running away to a magical treehouse surrounded by lush vegetation and wildlife, Topo's treehouse is so much more than you could hope for. He's truly put his heart and soul into building a beautiful sanctuary. We stayed for 11 days in this paradise. Each morning, we checked from the balcony to see where the sloths were that day. We shared the beach shower with magnificent tiny red tree frogs. At night, we watched the bats feast on mosquitoes from the hammock. (Bats, you were the real MVPs.) If you're calm and conscious of your noise levels, the agoutis will come say hi. Walking around the property was an absolute delight. Topo provided fresh fruit, a bag of incredible coffee, and a pair of Imperials to welcome our arrival. The bedroom has a mini-split, so we slept in comfort. Treat the treehouse and nature with kindness, and you'll have an unforgettable experience.

We stayed there for four nights as a family and enjoyed the time very much, the house is unique. In walking distance to the nearest bars, restaurants and the beach but still in nature and private. From the house we saw sloths, various monkeys, agutis, tucans, iguanas, colored frogs and more! If you're looking for an exceptional place to stay, this is the place to be!

Special location of the upscale price category. We made this gift for the 25th wedding anniversary. Very clean without insects or other animals. My expectation was to sleep in the branches of the tree due to the photos. This is a lovingly designed lodge, with the tree as a side of the house. Still a lovely experience.

Imagine staring at a painting of a lush jungle. You focus on a small bird on a distant tree, then you look down at your feet, and realize you are a part of the painting. The animals come to life and pass by right in front of you. That is what it is like to occupy this house. As you are observing nature you are also being observed by it. One side of this house is composed of a sprawling ficus tree, the other is open to the surrounding landscape. You are comfortably seated on the exotic wood frame that keeps that colorful vista as it’s focal point. Just as a painter gets a few drops of color on the studio floor or their clothes, nature will dribble into the living space in the form of a few leaves, insects, raindrops, and even a group of fruit bats. If you want a space that is sanitized and immaculate, this will likely not do., but if you can tolerate some slight dirt, or a cricket on your coffee mug, then it might be just the right mix of nature’s magic and comfort for you.

A beautiful and unique place to stay and really enjoy nature. Unbelievably cool.

Stop looking and book Topos Treehouse! Great location, walkable to a few restaurants and the beach, a longer walk to the national park and into town but doable especially for adults. Our 4 & 5 year old did it after being motivated by ice cream. There are bugs, you are in the jungle, it’s to be expected but there is also a family of bats living in the tree and they do a pretty good job of eating insects. Our last evening we watched a sloth climb a tree next to the tree house and scoot on over to the ficus of the treehouse. We watched Agoutis eating and playing in the mornings around the treehouse. We didn’t see any poison dart frogs on our own but asked Topo before leaving and he showed us where to look...so ask him when you get there. When we asked the kids what their favorite part of the vacation was they both shouted “the treehouse” ! After driving around the coast we are glad we chose Topos and Cahuita, very tranquil environment with lots of wild life. If you like lots of shops and people then look elsewhere. Thanks for the memorable vacation!

Topo's treehouse was phenomenal! The property was a slice of the jungle, so many birds and iguana! Fully stocked kitchen, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, and plenty of open air views of the property.

My fiancee and I had a great time in the treehouse. Topo was a gracious host and the location is perfect. I would stay here again.

A magical, private, not to be missed tree house, the like of which you will experience no where else! The town has great beaches and a slow pace and is also close to more touristy areas and wild life sanctuaries further down the coast. Topo is a delight! Might I say a Merlin???

Living in a tree with all the comforts of home. A very fun, interesting experience. Strategically located hammocks and comfortable furniture and beds. Well equipped kitchen. Easy walking distance to beach and restaurants.
