2BR Home in Nosara

Excellent, 2 years ago

Overall everything was as described. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed 10 days at the airbnb and wished we could leave earlier. The location is convenient to the beach and host communication is great. What made the stay uncomfortable for us is the amount of bugs inside the house. This is in the jungle no doubt, but the amount of bugs and insects inside the house made our stay uncomfortable. There is an assembly of big red ants crawling just above the master bedroom (ants were in both bedrooms), flying insects and bugs all over the mirrors and floors in the bathroom where I'm tiptoeing to avoid them, and the biggest heart thumper was on the 2nd night we found a scorpion carrying hundreds of babies on her back. If you don't mind bugs, the house will be sufficient. For me and my friends, we probably wouldn't stay again.

Thank you for the review Molly. We're disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your time here. We do appreciate your communication and honesty with us about your discomfort with the bugs. As you said yourself, it is the jungle and this can happen with the change of season. We did our best to provide you with support through bug spray. We hope to have the chance to host you again in the future!

Karina’s spot is wonderful. It was the perfect location for early surf checks, easy to/from town and to walk to Bodhi for a yoga class, smoothie or cocktail. Her team was very accommodating and had a golf cart ready for us upon arrival. The two pieces of feedback I’d give are 1. There was a red ant problem in the upstairs bedrooms which was more annoying than troublesome. But they were persistent and came out at night. 2. One evening we didn’t have water / water pressure at all. We contacted Karina’s team and they said this has never happened before. Fortunately we had rinsed off earlier in the day, and the water did return the next day. Again - we were flexible as it’s a home in the jungle but an annoyance. Overall though the home is great. We felt safe and would recommend.

Thank you Marissa for taking time to leave a review. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the location and we appreciate your kind words regarding our team. We are sorry ants were an issue during your stay. Ants and insects are difficult to manage in this jungle environment even with regular treatments. We hope they were not too impactful for your visit and understand they can be an annoyance. We would be happy to host you any time, and hope to see you back in Nosara. Pura vida!

The best feature of Casa Gaia is the view from the bedroom. The neighbour has a big piece of land with their Casa up the hill out of sight so you have an incredible extended view of the jungle. The laundry room has a separate lock so you can store valuables and surf boards there. There is also an alarm. It’s 5 min walk to Beach Dog and 7 min to beach. Easy walk with board in hand. Also super close to Bodhi Tree which is yoga central. Thanks for a great visit Karina.

Thank you, Cameron! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you taking time to write a review. We hope to see you back our way in the future. Pura vida!

Great space for a young family. Lots of construction happening in the neighborhood, so it was noisy. Close enough to the beach to walk. Nice jungle path to a commercial area nearby. New property management company managing the rental, so definitely some growing pains (there was no house book, so had to message any questions that we had). Would rent again.

Thank you, Vashti, for taking time to write a review. We look forward to the day of no construction in the Guiones area. We appreciate your feedback and hope to host you for your next visit to Nosara. Pura vida!

We had a great stay at Karina’s. They met us for checking in to help show us where everything was and how to set the alarm system. It was such a nice private space. The curtains were a little open for the bedroom space at night, until I adjusted them and then it was no problem in the bedroom at all. Plus there’s no other houses to the side of the bedroom, so privacy was no problem for us. The house is in such a great location and was so clean. The staff were so nice to help with check in and any questions we had. We’d stay here again!

I stayed in Karin's house for a month and grew to love it more each day. The main feature for me, and the one I take home with me is the big glass windows that make it feel like you are a part of the jungle. As I was working from home, it helped me a lot to have fast wifi and this amazing jungle scape with monkeys, birds and squirrels as daily viewing. The house is a great space for friends sharing space, or a few friends, or a family. And it's five minute walk to the beach is a big feature. Karina and her team were helpful and responsive. There are a few costa rican elements... Some bug visitations, etc. But overall I would choose this place again, close, convenient and having all you need.

I was grateful there was a team of people ready to help us out, because there were a number of things that came up during our stay. There is no AC in the kitchen or living room, so it was unbearable in the 90+ humid summer heat. I requested a couple fans, which they brought over. The shower was clogged, which they fixed. The oven worked okay for a couple days, then didn't (after I had prepared fresh fish, vegetables, and potatoes to cook...which was frustrating). After a couple days, someone came and fixed that (the gas line was kinked), but at that point we were unable to cook a lot of the fish we had caught. One thing that would have really helped our stay is if there wasn't a tree constantly dropping large seeds (I'm actually not sure exactly what they were) on the roof. Especially after being warned of all the possible theft and a need for guards, it was frightening to have intermittent banging sounds happening throughout the night. We'd wake up...look out the windows, tip toe downstairs, and peer around to make sure our family was safe. It wasn't until we had been staying there for over a week that we realized what the sounds were. The location was good, walking distance to the beach, as well as a jungle trail that connects you to a street with food and shops. We loved Nosara!

The home is accurately photographed but the large glass wall and front porch shown in the photos faces the road which is only about 15 feet away. You feel a bit exposed to people passing by as it gets quite a bit of both vehicle and foot traffic. Though the front of the house is exposed you are tucked back into the trees and we were lucky enough to have a group of howler monkeys spend the day and were just outside the bedroom windows. The AC is located in the upstairs bedrooms and works quite well. Downstairs would get quite hot, but then again you are in Costa Rica! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had most of what you would need...we cooked quite a bit. The house is located closer to Rt. 160, but is a nice walk to the beach and a jungle trail takes you to town and drops you close to Cafe de Paris. The wi-fi was consistent and worked well throughout the home. We had a couple of requests while we were there and the management company was quick to respond and fulfilled our requests within an hour or two. All and all we had a wonderful time in Nosara and enjoyed our stay. You can't beat a consistent wave and spectacular sunsets which happen everyday!

What a beautiful vacation! Loved having a full kitchen and air conditioning in the bedrooms. Plenty of room for a family of four to spread out. We were surprised to find the house located directly on the street (rather than set back behind gates) but that proved to be perfect because we were in and out of the house all week. The house is centrally located - easy to get to the grocery store, coffee shop, boutiques, beach, etc. Highly recommend renting a golf cart to get around. Will definitely stay here on our next trip. Thanks!!

Karina's place was just OK. The kitchen has everything and the bedrooms have AC, but that's where the amenities end. The house felt very bare and a little dirty: there's no floor or bath mats so sand and dust quickly accumulate. There's no screens on the windows in the bedrooms. There aren't enough curtains so there's limited privacy from outside. And at night the house creaks A LOT. Communication from Katrina was lacking in general.

Hi Michael, I'm sorry your experience was just ok. I never received word from my property manager or directly from you on any of these issue which we would've fixed right away especially bath bats and dirt - we take cleanliness very seriously and this is the first anyone has ever left a review saying it was dirty. I really wish you would've let us know and we would've done everything in our power to fix it. You mentioned communication was lacking - I never received any messages from you. Were the property managers not responsive? I would appreciate more details. Thanks.

Casa Gaia is really the perfect spot to vacation or work remotely. It’s right next to the yoga spot( Bodhi tree) and very close to the surf. The house is bright and clean and has all the essentials you would need. The monkeys and birds hang right outside and the road is relatively quiet. Also, the property management company was so helpful during our stay to plan car rentals, trips, laundry etc. Highly recommend staying here! It’s magical.

This house is beautiful and looks exactly like the photos. The hosts and staff were so kind and helpful throughout the entire trip, making sure we were settling in okay and if we needed anything else from restaurant ideas, tours, tuktuks, etc. There was AC in both of the bedrooms and fans in all rooms. The glass windows were beautiful to wake up to. The only issue we had was the security alarm was sensitive, so it would be easily triggered and go off, however we felt very safe! The house was only a short 10 minute walk to the beach, or short drive via ATV. Would definitely recommend staying here whether it’s your first or 7th trip to Nosara!
