We spent a long weekend at the house for our annual Book Club trip and it is now one of our favorites. We had a large group of women, but there was plenty of space for everyone. The daily maid service is great and we did hire a private chef to come and cook one dinner and one brunch for us at the house. The other meals were spent at close local restaurants. We had a rental car which was nice because it was so hot, but the restaurants were easily walkable. We were able to snorkel directly in front of the house and saw amazing fish and coral. I would book again in a heartbeat!

The location and views were fantastic. The home itself was perfect for couples and the layout is great. There are some steps in the living room upstairs that takes getting used to. There is no a/c in the main areas something to think about when renting. It gets very hot and especially when there is no wind. One downside of the place is cleaning services comes early in the morning and on the morning of check out, we felt like we were in their way when we’re trying to check out, pack etc., and they weren’t very nice about us making breakfast and coffee, asked us what’s going on and when we were leaving. We left the house at exactly 10am and we felt like they wanted us out of there by 9. I understand that they have guests checking in however they should not be coming in to clean until 10am so that way they’re not in our space when we’re trying to make sure that we’re not leaving anything behind. I would still recommend this house. It was very nice and spacious for a group of 10.

Casa Zama was incredible. We felt so lucky to stay in such a beautiful spot. The kids had so much fun walking along the rocks looking for sea creatures, and the adults had fun relaxing by the pool and on the private beach. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the housekeepers and grounds keeper. They really made our stay. They took such good care of us, gave great recommendations and were so friendly. The area was very safe, and there is a good restaurant on the beach 5 minutes walk away, and a wonderful little breakfast restaurant about a 10 min walk away. You can also go to a Cenote in the Akumal north neighborhood!

This place was further away from the town of Tulum than we thought given the price, so that was a bit of a disappointment. The house was clean and the cleaners were great, but it definitely feels dated. One day while we were there, the water went out, and unfortunately we could not get a hold of the grounds keeper. We also had a medical emergency while in Tulum, and the ambulance we called was not able to come through the gate and make it to the house. When we decided to drive to the hospital instead, the ground keeper called the National Guards and we were swamped by heavily armed military personnel who could not actually help us. It added a lot of chaos to the moment and was not asked for or helpful. That really soured the trip and made us wish that we had just stayed at resort for the price we spent on the accommodations.

The place was beautiful. Rocio was very helpful. She planned our chef dinner with Daveed and also had the house maid (sorry, i forget her name) prepare a delicious lunch for us. We traveled in a group of 9. We all enjoyed. The staff were attentive. I really have no complaints at all. I just wish we had cash to leave tips like we wanted. It would help to have some kinda of electronic payment for that because i really regret not being able to leave them something for their great service. We would definitely come back if we decide to visit Tulum again. Thanks for hosting us.
