The house was amazing. Very accurate and so comfortable. We used the recommended chef and the food was delicious! It made our late night arrival so much easier not to have to worry about food for dinner or breakfast the next morning. The house was beautiful and the cleaner was so nice! The grounds are beautiful and we loved the little reading nooks. We traveled with 4 girls ages 5-11 and they loved the house. Pura Vida!!

We had a lovely stay at Casa Melosa! The house was great for our group of 16. We cooked a lot at home, and Casa Melosa really had a super well-equipped kitchen! Probably the best-equipped kitchen of all the houses we've rented! The outside common areas were beautiful and well furnished. Roofs covered its spaces well to protect us from the rain and sun. The air conditioning in the bedrooms and kitchen worked very well. Thanks for a lovely stay

Great place for our group of 14. A couple minutes walk to the beach or to the restaurants. Not a bad drive from the airport or to other spots along the coast. Separate sleeping spaces, but great central hangout spaces around the pool and kitchen. Amazing plants and animals everywhere. Good assortment of cooking equipment but limited general ingredients (no oils, spices, etc).

This place was such an oasis for our family of 13! The plants and flowers are incredible. We saw monkeys in the trees outside our gate. We loved coming back to the pool at end of our excursions/beach play days. What I loved most was MaryAnnes recommendations. The catamaran she recommends is hands down our favorite outing! We also loved Ricardo tours she recommends. He will do anything to please. We booked two all day trips with him, but then asked if he could drive us to Tamarindo for 1/2 day and he put together cabanas, lunch and surfing lessons. I also cannot say enough about the Orofinos chef delivery service. This was our best decision, we communicated with them ahead of time about what we’d like our dinner menus to look like and they delivered them each night and they were so amazing! We also added breakfast a few mornings. They were such a blessing to our family! It was great to come home to comfort food and not stress about menus and prices at restaurants.

We had a terrific stay at Casa Melosa. The property was perfect for our large family. The pool area is a natural gathering place along with lots of seating. Plus there are additional table and chair arrangements for smaller groups. The kitchen is very well equipped and a large picnic type table accommodated us all. Sandra, the housekeeper, is wonderful and helped us with whatever we needed. A short walk away is a coffee shop (worth a stop) and a small Italian market for packaged foods. A perfect place for all 15 of us!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the villa. Four moms and four teen boys. Mary Anne provided local contacts, restaurants, and was always available for assistance. Sabrina was always there. she was warm and lovely. perfect villa for us. recommend

This was a stunning airbnb! It had 7 bedrooms, all with their own bathroom. There was a maid named Sandra who was a fantastic help throughout our stay, changing towels and sheets as needed. She also answered questions and provided us with anything we were looking for. I loved how there was so much outdoor space. It was private but yet only a 10 minute walk to a grocery store and restaurants. TVs in bedrooms/common area were not as advertised as an FYI. I would return and recommend this villa for all! Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed with our entire family including grandkids - 16 in total. This was the ultimate villa for a group our size, and Mary Anne was an exceptional host. The property is ideally located with endless private and cozy nooks along with spacious common areas for group dining and relaxing by the pool. We would definitely go back again!

Wow! This place was an absolute dream. We stayed there with a group of 16 aging from 1 year old to 75 years old. It was everything we hoped for and more. Beautiful space, plenty of privacy but also great common areas for all of us to relax together. There were almost no bugs on the property, but we saw plenty of wildlife in the area. So many lovely spots to visit and restaurants to enjoy very close. Mary Anne gave great recommendations and was always prompt in getting back to me when I had questions (which was frequently). Would absolutely return.

This place was a perfect setting for our multigenerational girls trip to Costa Rica. The neighborhood was easy to find and was safe. The place had plenty of space and bedrooms. The pool was refreshing and clean. The outdoor kitchen/barbecue was easy to use. I can’t say enough good things about it. Everybody loved the location and the amenities. Mary ann was very responsive and wanted to ensure we had everything we needed.

Casa Melosa was the perfect spot for our trip and had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Costa Rica. The cabins were extremely clean and comfortable and all of the amenities made for a great trip. We would definitely be happy to come back!

Maryanne was a great host. Our housekeeper, Sandra became our friend and she was amazing. She kept it so clean, little to no insects which is great in CR. House is clean, private and had everything we needed! The gardens were beautiful, the pool was refreshing and everyone had a private bedroom with their own bathroom. We had a group of 14 and this place had plenty of space for all of us. We also used a private chef, Chef GerLi’s Kitchen and he was also beyond amazing!!! My family will definitely come back to Casa Melosa

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mary Anne's home in Playa Potrero. The grounds are stunning and this property is very private, while still walking distance to the beach and shops + restaurants. She connected us with a private chef for our first night which was a fantastic way for everyone to unwind and begin our adventure. The property is very large; our smaller group of 5 adults + 1 toddler had ample space. The pool was ideal for cooling off on a hot Costa Rican day (the water temp was a little chilly in October but still enjoyable) and we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The on-site housekeeper Sandra takes fantastic care of the property and became like family to our group. Some considerations: challenging with children (or elderly) due to very slippery tile and many elevation changes + steep stairs to second floor. We would highly recommend this location for a group wanting to be immersed in Costa Rica's natural beauty while enjoying modern luxuries.

Casa Melosa is the place to be if you are visiting Costa Rica in the Flamingo/Potrero area. The place is kept clean at all times, and it feels extremely safe. The host was always responsive. I would definitely come back here. It was great for a family of 12.

Great retreat, very cool unique place. Really great outdoor spaces , beautiful garden and pool. The host was very informative and responsive. The town is nice and not overly gentrified. Easy walk to beach with great coffee shop on the corner.

This place was beautiful and much better in person than the photos. Love the vibe. Great for large groups. There were 3 families and we were very comfortable. Bring oil and condiments if you plan to cook. Otherwise, kitchen is stocked. One of the ACs wasn’t turning on but we had the AC guy show up immediately after I reported it. Mary Anne is super responsive and helpful with questions and recommendations. We walked to Potrero beach and there are nearby restaurants. Her recommended chef and tour guide were great!

This location was an excellent choice for our large family. Every couple and member of our group had their own private rooms with bathroom attached. Multiple areas throughout the property allowed for members to sit and relax in various settings. There were a couple quiet nooks where some could read while others enjoyed the pool or fire pit. Overall just a wonderful stay and the property was in great condition. There were some small issues that did arise from some power outages, but Mary Ann was very quick to respond and have her property managers get issues handled quickly. She was always pleasant to deal with and very proactive if I had any questions.

beautiful home with lots of things to do around. pictures don't do the property justice. it is in a smaller town so not much of a night life, but it's what you make it and we stayed plenty busy for a week. there's a couple small things but that's to be expected. I communicated with the host through everything and had no issues. Mary (the host) was very quick to answer to any problems that may have arouse, or questions that anyone in my group needed answers too. overall it was a 10 out of 10 experience and would recommend to anyone. definitely plan to use again in the future when we come back. based off of the majority of homes I looked at while down, most can't compare to the size and beauty of it

Very private comfortable place. Very well laid out for multi couple or large family's as it has multiple bedroom/cabin with private bathrooms. Close to beaches and restaurants. Lots of much needed shade in the gated home. A/C worked well. The finishing's aren't new however as someone who is particular about cleanliness it was very well taken care of. Daily staff on site to clean was an added bonus. Felt very safe in the community.

From the get-go MaryAnn was a fantastic host. From questions about the booking, the stay, the area to issues we ran into at the house (like changing the propane tanks), she was very helpful and quick to respond. The house was just as it was listed. All photos matched the listing. All the rooms were very well kept up and clean. We had a big group, 8 adults and 4 kids, and we all fit comfortably with room to share. The location was not a far drive to Flamingo Beach or restaurants. A lovely Cafe was just a couple minute walk down the road. We even got to watch baby monkeys play in the trees right outside the gates. Would certainly recommend this place to others! And who knows, maybe we will make another trip in the future!! 10/10 satisfied!

Casa Melosa was perfect for our group--we all had private rooms to retreat to but also multiple open seating areas to hang out together. Having a kitchen was great to cook in, and the pool was a fun addition for my kids. There was a small business center with some restaurants just two blocks away, and additional restaurants and grocery store within a mile. The beach access was super easy as well-just a few blocks away. We had some issues with the AC units in different rooms but the host's maintenance man immediately came over to fix them. A little awkward having a full-time housekeeper there during the day but not sure what could be done about that. Mary Anne was incredibly quick and responsive to my messages throughout our stay which we definitely appreciated. Would definitely recommend to any considering.

Good location, it was easy to get to and there is a market nearby to buy food and other items. Communication was smooth, I got prompt response and attention. There is no garage, however you can park outside and it is a quiet place. 10 minutes from Playa Penca and others. We had a great time!

I will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend other mature folks to visit as well. I traveled to Casa Melosa for peace of mind. However, I ended up finding lots and lots of fun as well. So, thumbs up!! Chris

Terrific! Great for getting alway few days. You can visit nearby beautiful beaches, have dinner at some of the restaurants around or; as in our case; simply enjoy of a delicious “in-house” dinner, lunch or breakfast while enjoying the place. Mary Anne was attentive to our needs and so does the local team she has supporting her enable us to have a wonderful experience.

Mary Anne the host Sandra and daughter was amazing they made us feel like we were at home we felt welcome and the house was clean and comfortable the photos on site does this amazing facility no justice this place was absolutely incredible we were a group of 13 people and we loved it just walking distance to the beach and local grocery stores. Wow! We absolutely loved Casa Melosa! We had a group of 10 adults and 4 kids and it was perfect! Each bedroom had a bathroom that was fantastic. The pool was so beautiful and well maintained. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment so that we could cook together! We loved every aspect of casa melosa and will miss her!

Airbnb I highly recommend Mary Ann’s place. It was perfect for what we wanted. Our party consisted of 12. Us, our two sons and their families. Each of the teenagers had their own room and the younger 3 shared a bedroom. The kitchen is off to one end, so early risers in the kitchen didn’t disturb the others. Many different sitting areas, so if you want to be totally removed from the “pool party” or watch from a distance you could. Mary Ann has connections for possible excursions in the area. Sandra, the housekeeper was a charm. She did things for us we didn’t expect her to. She was there but always in the background. Mary Ann asks that you not use her pool towels at the beach. Once you visit the beach/ocean you understand why. I recommend using different bathing suits for the pool and the ocean. We didn’t rent any vehicle, we’re easily able to walk to the beach, fruit vegetable stand, 2 grocery stores and restaurants. For excursions and airport we used gentleman recommended.

The super full and beautiful bar, the very comfortable furniture, reading spaces and board games, the super clean and cool pool, the comfortable and spacious rooms, the super full kitchen. The house is a great option, the staff super attentive and friendly, everything was perfect It was a great experience The host is very friendly and helpful I recommend it 100% I will return in the future of insurance Rating 10/10

Eleven of our extended family stayed at Casa Melosa for 3 weeks. The house was wonderful for our group; enough bedrooms and bathrooms for plenty of privacy, combined with lovely outdoor living space. The pool was a necessary bonus as temps were in the high 90’s. Sandra and the rest of the house staff kept everything clean and organized. We will miss them! The kitchen is well stocked and spacious for multiple people to help prep. Had massages one morning in the back garden area. Loved the location in Portrero - outside of the crazy Tamarindo area and close to beautiful Playa Flamingo. Made multiple trips down the road to the produce market and Nita’s coffee shop for smoothies. The golf carts we rented made for easy and fun beach transportation. Maryanne was in constant communication and incredibly responsive and helpful with local suggestions and any questions about the house. We miss the neighborhood monkeys!

The Airbnb was better than the photos. We loved the layout of the outdoor communal area. It was super hot so we really enjoyed the pool. We had an amazing time here!

I hosted a yoga retreat at Casa Melosa for 6 days & we all loved it! I'd never experienced the open concept, it was a treat! it's very shady, has lots of overhead fans, & is spacious enough for us all to take time alone. There were many gathering spaces so we practiced yoga in one area & did workshops in another. The onsite staff was wonderful & kept it tidy cleaning away the debris from trees both in the pool and on the floors daily & was responsive to the few times we needed maintenance. Loved the book nooks and twinkle lights. The kitchen has plenty of cookware but has no storage containers for leftovers. The beach is a few minutes walk on a dirt road, shops & restaurants are 5 to 10 minutes walk away. The only suggestion is to be prepared to have anything you need for the kitchen as there is no coffee, tea, paper towels, or oils for cooking. Only soap is provided for the shower.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Melosa. It was the perfect size for 9 people with plenty of privacy. The outdoor space was great and we loved the pool. It's close to many restaurants, but I'd suggest a golf cart to make it easier. One suggestion I would make is that if you have any older people in your party, I would put them on the first floor cabanas. The second level steps are quite steep, but we didn't have any problems. Just a safety precaution as my dad is 72. Sandra was wonderful! Mary Anne was great with communication. Overall this was a wonderful place and would definitely come back!

Perfect place for our family vacation. Allowed us to have our own space and be together. So clean and with an open setting that is not easy. So helpful before and during the booking.

Our stay was amazing! The private rooms are great for everyone to have their own space. I thought the open air living in the rest of the property might be too much with the heat, but it was so nice! Fans everywhere and the pool to cool off in! We came for 2.5 weeks, so we really got to know the area. All of the reviews say that walking is fine to all of the restaurants & beaches, but you need to be aware that there are no sidewalks or shoulders. Our teens felt safe walking, but my parents (60s) and 8 year old daughter did not, especially after dark. We definitely recommend getting a golf cart or car. A cart was fine as long as we wanted to stick close to Potrero and Flamingo. A car was needed to go to Tamarindo-45 minutes away by car. We were confused bc the listing said Tamarindo, but ultimately glad we were not staying there after visiting twice. Be sure to remember to bring all necessities & toiletries, none are provided & bring plenty of cash bc many people don’t accept cards.

Casa Melosa was so special, I would stay here again out of all the options to choose from. Honestly, our experience really couldn't have been better. Mary, Sandra and Adrian were very friendly and fixed our one issue with one of the cabins flooring in less than a couple hours. The house is even more incredible in person and has so many details you just can't see in person. I felt Mary truly cares and worked hard to help me plan my wedding there(getting me information) and this house will forever be in our memories. So beautiful. Thank you Mary we appreciate your hard work! 🙏

This property is beyond beautiful. We stayed here with a group of 12 friends and family during a 7 day visit in Costa Rica.  The property was spacious, yet intimate.  We all had plenty of space to spread out and space to come together. Every room is spacious and comfortable. Each room has its own A/C unit, so we all stayed comfortable indoors. There is a large outdoor gathering area in the shade, where we spent most of our time.  We spent a lot of time in the pool, which was a perfect temperature all day.  If you wake up at sunrise, you can hear and see the howeler monkeys hanging out in the trees near the property.  This property is just a few minutes walk from a quiet beach.  There are some great local food options within walking distance, including a fruit stand, authentic tico sodas and some more touristy restaurants on the main street. Playa Flamingo is just a 5 minute drive away, with much more dining options and an active beach.

Great place to stay with family or large groups. The layout of the spaces is perfect for group sharing.

My family and I had the most amazing trip with the help of Maryann, Sandra, chef Yanni, and Ricardo. We were warmly welcomed to the property by Maryann and Ricardo after a long trip from San Jose. We booked 3 excursions with Ricardo and all went swimmingly! We had 2 senior members in our party and Ricardo was very attentive making sure that activities were adjusted according to their abilities. We had a phenomenal seafood feast by chef Yanni and had her mom bake us a superb cake. Sandra and Maryann do a great job making sure guests feel at home.

Our stay was an awesome experience. The place was great for me and our large group of friends. The common space was a great place to hang out and we all had our privacy in our rooms. The pool was great. The host responded quickly to any small issues we had during our stay. The host also had an awesome team of people who coordinated every aspect of our stay. We scheduled a masseuse to come one day and that was great for all. We also used her chef service three nights during our stay the food was great, and it was so easy to coordinate. It was a great value for the awesome meals we had. We also used Ricardo for airport transportation, golf cart rental and all our excursions during our stay. We booked four excursions with him (ATV/Snorkel tour, Zip Linning, a private snorkel/ sunset catamaran tour and a waterfall, sloth and blue lagoon tour). They were all a great value and extremely fun. He provided everything we needed during our stay.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Casa Melosa, one we won't soon forget! We were greeted by the lovely Sandra, who made us feel right at home and kept up constant, friendly and clear communication with us throughout our stay. The house was actually better than we imagined and in a very peaceful area. That being said, we were close enough to walk to both the beach and restaurants, making it easy to get around. Our favorite thing about Casa Melosa were all the dedicated spaces - the refreshing pool, cozy lounging area around back, peaceful gardens, awesome bar, and great kitchen. We would highly recommend and happily stay again! 5 STARS!

Amazing stay!!

I recently hosted a women's retreat here for a week and couldn't have been happier with every aspect of pur stay. The home is magical and even better than the pictures. The private rooms allow each guest to have their own private sanctuary. The open air lounge and dining areas were perfect for gathering together as a group and to take in the ambiance. We were walking distance to town and the beach; also near all other activities we had planned like Tamarindo for a fun beach shopping day and Rio Celeste and Tenorio National park for hiking. We used Chef Gianina and couldn't have been happier, excellent Costa Rican food! Sandra and Adrian are there to ensure everything runs smoothly, they are amazing hosts and we were happy to have them there for our stay. Sandra makes your room sparkly and amazing smelling every day and Adrian helps when you accidentally lock yourself out of a room. Our group loved this house and the hosts! oh yea, we even had monkeys right out front a few days. extra bonus!

Excellent place, we have already stayed 2 times and my family and I will continue to seek the kindness and attention of Mrs. Sandra and Mari Anne, the house is remodeled and everything in excellent condition, we hope to return soon.

We loved our stay! We booked Casa Melosa for our family reunion and had a wonderful time. Our group had a mix of kids (11 months, 5 and 7 years old), parents/relatives, and a grandparent. The place was perfect for our group - each family had a private casita, the kids loved the pool, and the adults loved hanging outside in the communal areas. Sandra was amazing - she is a treasure and we all loved her! Communication before and during the trip was excellent. We would definitely be happy to come back.

We had a relaxing and delightful stay. Sandra was great! We hired the chef for a few meals and the food was ridiculously good! The house is even more beautiful in person. The location is great! Two tips: take a photo or screenshot of the front of the house because the name isn't there and you don't want your transportation looking all over the neighborhood for you. Second, don't rent a car unless you're going long distances. If you're exploring nearby, just rent a golf cart or atv. It's so convenient!

This was a perfect rental to stay in for our family reunion in Costa Rica. It had seven bedrooms, all with there own bathroom and a good AC units. We had enough space to be able to have our alone time whilst the communal areas were great for getting together. The kitchen had everything you could need and it is set apart from the main house. The eating area is covered but outdoors which we loved. A large table that fit us all around for breakfast. There were 13 of us in total. The location was great with a supermarket and many good restaurants around. We went to the Playa Flamingo beach which was maybe 10-15 mins drive. A beautiful beach with large Ezup/canopy’s, chairs to rent. Not crowded and great waves. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Sandra met us at the house and gave us a tour. The breakfast the following morning was great! We paid her to come cook us a traditional Costa Rican dinner and it was fantastic! Having our own bedrooms and bathrooms was a huge plus. The pool was refreshing and the outdoor area was perfect for hanging out. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything plus items we didn't expect. I highly recommend staying here.

We chose to stay at Casa Melosa for our family vacation to Costa Rica and couldn't have been happier. This is a very unique and fun rental. The pool in the central courtyard and adjoining open common areas/kitchen were perfect for our family of 8. There was some haggling over who got to stay in the cute little casita's around the pool, but even those of us who slept in the four upstairs bedrooms had a comfortable and quiet sleep. The location was perfect. We liked that it is on a quiet backstreet within walking distance to downtown with restaurants, bars, supermarket and beach. Mary Anne and Sandra a truly superhosts, everything went so smoothly and Sandra was there to meet us when we arrived. She made sure we had everything we needed everyday of the stay. This really is a perfect home to stay in for any family visiting this part of Costa Rica!

The house is comfortable. Very spacious. It has all the amenities. The pool is spacious enough for the 14 guests. It has the basic amenities. Hot water in the bedrooms. Although the house does not say it, there is a comfortable area for the disabled. There are places nearby for basic shopping and recreational places such as bars and restaurants. It is close to the beach and easily accessible.

The house is very large, comfortable, clean, all rooms with their air conditioning, independent bathrooms and screens, very comfortable and clean kitchen. They have a bar area with their own sound!!! pool medium and quite deep. Parking only for 2 cars, but we leave another outside there are surveillance cameras but still remains on the street edge. Dust path which is normal for everything to dust very quickly. Quite separate areas but close to share with different groups and activities. In the complex there is an extra room in which a male man lives and sleeps who takes care of the property and the attention of him(Adrian) and Sandra, the very good caretaker. Very important, super close to many paddock beaches, penca, pirate sugar bread, flamingo. Access steps to the second floor with difficulty for seniors and children.

We had an excellent vacation. The place is beautiful and very well taken care of by Sandra and Adrian. Sandra cooked for us and she cooks delicious. The place exceeded our expectations. Walking distance to the beach. The sad part was that we had lo leave.

Place is exactly how it looks in the photos. Some things our large family appreciated included excellent kitchen equipment, clean pool, excellent communication with Mary Ann and Sandra, and a quiet street. The location is also good for wildlife viewing - from the property we saw howler monkeys, orange-fronted parakeets, and Hoffman’s woodpeckers, among others.

Convenient location, beautiful spaces, special for large groups as it has many areas to enjoy!

Casa Melosa is special for large families who also enjoy having enough space, each room has its own bathroom, the kitchen is quite spacious and equipped with what you need, the areas to eat and share are spacious. We loved that they accepted our pets, there is no green garden or space right for them but you can walk them through the neighborhood which is quiet or take them to the beach that is very close. If you go with numerous cars, inside the property can fit 2 cars comfortably, the others would be outside the gate guarded by the guard. In our stay there was no problem with the cars left out. Sandra, who welcomed us, is super kind and gives you all the directions, someone is always available for any eventuality. The location is PERFECT, close to beautiful beaches! Thank you so much for everything!

Excellent house for families, impeccable cabins and rooms, excellent and super-equipped kitchen and common areas and attention, not to mention. Sandra and Mary are excellent hosts, my family and I were delighted and happy with our stay.

An amazing quiet place to stay while being very near to the beach. The space to hang out was amazing. Ample place to hang out for 10-15 people. The kitchen had everything you need so it was easier for us to cook Indian food(imagine India food ). The host Mary and Dylan has been always communicating about the stay and all the updates weeks before the main days. The property caretaker Richard was an amazing man and he made us felt warmth and welcome and arranged anything which we asked for. He also guided us with the local shopping. All in all , it was an amazing stay and will recommend it to others too.

Excellent place to spend time as a family, the place is amazing, it is very cozy and relaxing. It makes you feel at home completely, spectacular atmosphere. A very clean, spacious place, with a great unique style, an incredibly equipped kitchen and Richard's service is unbeatable. An excellent host many thanks to Richard for everything. The villa is stunning, supermarkets nearby and easy access to many of the beaches in the area. Without a doubt, I would definitely come back here.

A super quiet place to be with family or friends and you can rent the entire villa to be in your "bubble". Thank you very much Richard for your hospitality and always being attentive to every detail. Excellent place, with everything you need and excellent communication from the host. The pool, the living room, the kitchen and the rooms are very detailed. One problem of understanding that he solved very kindly.
