6BR Villa

Jack

Excellent, 5 months ago

This house is simply amazing! So beautiful and so comfortable! Located very close to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. The cook was fabulous and the rest of the staff very attentive and accommodating! We loved our stay and did not want to leave!

Joya De Costa is definitely a luxury stay with everything you could possibly need. This was a dream come true, for our family get together. There was 12 of us... ages 10 months to 80 years old. Everything about the buildings, the furniture, the pool area and landscape was immaculate. Mihaela, always responded quickly to any question, and was very helpful with suggestions. Emilio, the property manager, greeted us at the bottom of the long gravel driveway and familiarized us with everything. The full time cook was wonderful and made us very tasty meals, and along with the housekeeper, keep the place spotless. They really made our stay special. We do not golf, but did create a fun putting game. Monkeys, Toucans, and Sloths hang out in the trees surrounding the house . The bedrooms are spacious, and quiet and I appreciated that they are in a separate building from the kitchen, living room dinning room and main patio. Definitely, a 4x4 or very good AWD vehicle is needed. So special!

Our group loved this villa! The property is beautiful with views of the ocean and jungle. The pool and golfing was so much fun. We saw Sloths, Green Parrots and Yellow-throated toucans from our room and around the property. There is a small dog onsite, she is the sweetest and was a big star of the vacation. The chef made fantastic food every day and the staff kept the place spotless. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Costa Rica!!

The views, the accommodations and the staff were amazing! It was worth the long drive from the airport to stay in this 6 bedroom Airbnb. It was like our own all inclusive resort. A very relaxing environment, as long as you can stand the sound of howler monkeys in the distance, which made it feel otherworldly. If you want to use the very difficult golf course be prepared to loose balls. There are clubs to use but it would’ve been much easier with our own. The hosts were very helpful and so was the staff. The hosts speak English but staff mostly Spanish. It was fun trying to communicate. All in all, the 11 of us had one of the best weeks of our lives vacationing at Joya de Costa Rica!

What a wonderful property and experience. Mihaela was a great host—flexible, timely, responsive! Ours was a last minute booking, and we felt taken care of the whole time. While the drive to the property does require 4WD, once you’re there you’re never going to want to leave! Animals of all kinds everywhere: toucans, sloths, monkeys, frogs, and more! Wonderful fresh fruit on the property: limes/lemons, coconuts, mangoes, bananas! Every day felt like we discovered something new! The pool, however, was the best feature. The water was warm and always clean (daily caretaking of the pool). It’s PERFECT for kids, given that it has zero depth entry and lots of areas for kids to stand in the water. Special shout-out to Rafael and Ampados (sorry if we butchered the spelling), as they were especially helpful on-site with managing the property, cleaning, setting up/down, etc). We really liked them.

From the property to the WONDERFUL STAFF, this home was simply amazing, and a perfect venue for a group that wants to be private but still close enough to enjoy the local towns and beaches. We came as a group of 9 for my wife’s 40th birthday and we were all blown away from the first second we drove up the extensive driveway (which btw you will more than likely need 4x4 to get up). As good as it looks in the listing photos rest assured it is somehow better in real life. We saw an extensive amount of wildlife including monkeys, tropical birds, and sloths right at the property. With that being said, please note that you are literally in the jungle/rainforest, so you will also find an extensive amount of bugs and insects throughout your stay, so keep that in mind if someone is deathly afraid of such things. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier, and feel blessed to have been accepted and able to experience this home.

The most important thing I can share is that we enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return. This is a great property with a great support team. So, my comments are provided for your preparation if you choose this location, which I strongely encourage you to do! 1. In order to get to the location from the main road, you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. There is a very very steep private road (paved and unpaved) that leads to the property. We had a SUV without 4 wheel drive and we could not get up the hill. We had to leave the car in the care of a neighboring property down the hill and had to get shuttled back and forth to our car by the house staff. That was not ideal. To avoid this, GET A CAR WITH FOUR WHEEL DRIVE! It's a breeze if you have the right vehicle. 2. There are six bedrooms - only three have air conditioning. If this is important to you...consider this a heads up. 3. Privacy is challenging. The privacy blinds/shades on the windows do not provide privacy during the day time at all - you can see directly through them. At night, if you have the lights on you might as well keep the shades open because you can see right through them. So, using the bathroom, bathing, and getting dressed can be an adventure if you're in a group. Depending on your room, if they walk by or decide to go for a swim as you're getting dressed you could be on full display. So, be prepared to shower and/or get dressed in the dark!, which is what some of us did. Although each room may have its unique challenge (some more than others), we were able to successfully manage. Overall, the final sentiment is we liked the place and would return. If asked by friends I'd strongly encourage them to stay here. So, despite the above, I definitley encourage you to do so too! The good surpasses any drawbacks.

When we first saw this property online we thought it was too good to be true. Once we arrived we immediately felt like it exceeded our greatest expectations. The entire staff and owner went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay enjoyable. The house was gorgeous and the views were amazing. Any photo of this place doesn’t do it justice. It is obviously that the owner has spared no expense to deliver an over the top experience. We will definitely return!

Amazing property, staff, and amenities. I am dreaming of returning one day. It was truly stunning. Rafa and the team were outstanding. We visited another luxury home on the Nicoya peninsula that while gorgeous, didn’t hold a candle to our experience here. I could tell the staff on-site were paid well, respected, and taken care of. We saw tons of wildlife from the house and even had a sloth living in a tree right outside our window! We were a group of 8 adults and 2 children and the house fit our needs perfectly. We felt completely safe and at ease the entire time. What a truly amazing experience!
