Studio in Jaco

Luca

OK, 3 years ago

We spent a night in Jaco in Casa Jungla Hostel. Our stay was overall okay: the staff was super friendly and helpful, however our room was quite small for a couple with two bags but eventually we made it work. Our shower wasn't working properly (no hot water) so we decided to cancel the second night and proceed with our journey. The owner agreed that it was appropriate and give us no problem considering the problem with the room. Only thing to report: some noise coming for the adjacent house quite late in the evening. We didn't really understand what was going on. We left in the early morning and asked for a little bit of anticipation for the breakfast which was refused. Overall I would say a good solution to spend time in Jaco but on a higher scale prizes considering services provided.

Host Response

I am sorry about the noise you mentioned at night, (by the way it ended at 10:30pm). In Jaco, Semana Santa is a date with a lot of people and a lot of noise. In general there are parties everywhere and despite being a quiet place we have not been able to escape the festivities. The rest of the year is quieter! Regarding breakfast, we have a fixed schedule which is from 8 to 9 in the morning. It is very difficult to change the schedule since everything is prepared in the morning with fresh food for all the guests. To move it forward implies an impossible logistics since we have to coordinate schedules with whoever prepares it. Greetings !

It's a great spot to spend a few night. I love the decor of the place. They've put a lot of time in to creating a nice atmosphere there. My room had extra pillows and private bathroom, though there were several shared bathrooms as well so the dorm inhabitants are unlikely to have a wait time to pee! The bicycle and surfboard rental were really convenient. The kitchen had basic necessities available. I enjoyed the music playing softly throughout the day, and that quiet times were honored at night.

Seriously, this place is a gem! We stayed here our first night in CR and couldn’t have been a better introduction. Francisco is welcoming and willing to help with anything, and his wife makes the best vegan banana pancakes in the morning. We stayed in the private room and bath and the decor was so simple and beautiful, they have bikes to ride, literally a 3 minute walk down to the beach, and like 5 minutes to others restaurants. I felt really safe here too. Awesome, pura vidaaaaa ✌🏻

We were there during low-season and maybe it teinted the expérience for the best, but the place was just perfect! The cooking space in the back is so beautiful you don't want to go to the restautants in the city. They put ambiant music and the vibe is great. Also, the traditional breakfast in the morning is definetly adding to the charm of the place. It is a bit far from the action of the center, but the walk on the beach is so good you forget you are away from all this action. Book there!
