4BR Villa in Tamarindo

Gregory

Excellent, 1 month ago

Absolutely fantastic stay with our family of 4 and would happily return. The house has lots of room, no deception from wide angle photos, etc. Relaxing in the living room with a host of recliners was perfect after long days out. We had howler and capuchin monkeys in the trees right out the back all week, toucans flying around and many other types of wildlife. The gym on site was very nice to have as well - great equipment. Breeze kept the building cool when front and back doors open, and very easy to cool down with mini-splits in all rooms. Water pressure was great with two outdoor showers as well. Pool was clean and the kids loved it - great view while keeping cool. Location was key, just 5-10 mins to Dominical where there were many options for anything adventure you wanted to do (white water rafting, surfing lessons, boating activities, beaches, markets, etc.). At Uvita (15 km away), waterfalls and jumping - our kids loved it! Again, great stay and hope to return!

Host Response

Gregory, thank you so much for staying at Congo Jungle. We look forward to hosting you in the future.

This house has a terrific layout with a spectacular view. As often happens in CR, we had a ton of rain for the first few days and experienced extended power outages. Esteban handled reporting the outage to the power company and returned to the property to help with a couple of other small issues. He was very polite and responsive to our needs. We saw tons of animals on the property, including Toucans daily, Macaws, Monkeys, a salmon bellied racer, Aqouti, Coati and a variety of other parrots including yellow-naped Amazons. Also fun to note, there is a beautiful waterfall, free to visit, on the road to the house. Book it! Enjoy it.

This is an absolute amazing place to stay in - this place had more amenities than any other Airbnb we have ever stayed in. the views were amazing and outdoor location was perfect for what we were looking for. The listing is correct - you will definitely need a 4x4 vehicle, but it's worth the drive. The only con is that we experienced almost nightly power outages due to the rainy season, but they typically lasted less than 5 minutes outside of one or two longer ones. overall I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a fantastic place to call home for their vacation

A beautiful slice of paradise! This clean, modern home is the ideal base for exploring CR's South Pacific. 5 minutes outside of Domenical, the location is perfect for friends or families who want access to all kinds of adventures but also the option to escape and kick back for some R&R. The house has comfortable spaces for cooking, eating, sleeping, games and relaxation. The infinity pool is the spot to cool down in the afternoon and enjoy a beverage from the poolside kitchen. The pool and back deck are surrounded by tropical forest and beautiful plantings that attract all kinds of beautiful birds and butterflies. The indoor kitchen is well stocked for home cooking, or duck out for seafood or traditional cuisine at a half-dozen nearby restaurants. The adjacent 'cabina' is actually a 2-room luxury villa of its own, perfect for a small family or group member who wants extra privacy. And don't forget to catch the amazing sunsets at the local beaches...our favorite end to every day!

Great location, exactly as advertised. Very private, lots of “nature”. Cicadas and howler monkeys were noisy but cool. Lots of birds and great sunsets. Groceries and amenities close by. Highly recommend these for affordable authentic experiences. Capi Tours - fishing and whale watching Costarican Chocolate - Chocolate tour, growing and making chocolate Cafe Don Emilio - growing and making coffee Uvita Farmers Market - local food and goods Whale Tail park - unique beach

The Congo house is FANTASTIC in every way: location, view, comfort, responsiveness of the property manager, etc. One of the best rentals we’ve ever had. Fabulous gathering spot for us, our three adult kids and their partners, and on one evening, a few friends for sunset and dinner. This home requires a AWD/4x4. When my son had trouble getting up the hill on his first drive up, we discovered his car was NOT an AWD, as promised by the car rental company. Estában, the property caretaker, arranged for the car rental company to send an AWD car down to us from San Jose the next morning, which was Christmas! We never expected that, and it was the best Christmas present we could have asked for. Estaban went way beyond the call of duty, since that wasn’t his responsibility. We felt so taken care of! Our friends who live near by said it was the nicest home they’ve been to in the area; and they and we will be recommending it to everyone we know coming to this beautiful region!

Beautiful home, just as described. Definitely need a 4x4 because the drive up the mountain was dirt and gravel, but don’t let that not want to stay at this amazing home. The drive is worth it. The hosts were more than accommodating and their response time was quick. Check in was easy. We had a meet up point at the local BM supermarket. Esteban even found us in the store while we were shopping and introduced himself. Esteban was friendly and very helpful. Even when we were checking out Esteban met us at the house at 7:15 am to make sure we were happy and assisted us in the whole checkout process. Just to give some insight of Costa Rica. Expect bugs and ants, there is nothing the host can do to prevent them. Power outages are very common and they never last longer than a minute or 2, but usually only seconds. Howler monkeys are load, but a plus to experience. Overall house is amazing and property is pristine and make sure you explore bc you see all kinds of plants and fruits. Pura vida.

Host Response

Colby! Thank you so much for your kind words! We are so happy you enjoyed our home. We look forward to seeing you again in the future

This home in Savegre is a hidden gem. Surrounded by jungle with stunning views, it offers total privacy while still being close to everything. The house is beautifully designed to bring nature in, with glass doors throughout. We loved the infinity pool, peaceful creek, and the daily visits from toucans and other wildlife. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were cozy, and the AC and fans kept us cool. Javier, the groundskeeper, was kind, and our hosts were very responsive. We enjoyed local spots like Pescado Taco Loco and Congo Mongo in Dominical. Highlights included zip lining through a cacao plantation and hiking Nauyaca Falls. This place was peaceful, beautiful, and felt authentically local—we can’t wait to return and couldn’t have wished for a better Costa Rica experience!! Will definitely be booking this home next time!
