Casa Istiam

A wonderful stay in the cottage by the lake and close to natural areas. The cottage is small but very cute and pleasant. The hosts are available and very close. They made it easy for us to take a taxi from the port and to rent a motorcycle. The location in the middle of the island is ideal to avoid long journeys to sites such as Rio Itsiam or the San Ramon waterfall. I highly recommend it.

Loved the casa. It overlooks the beach and is walkable. Lake view on the front and volcano view on the side. A drinking water filter is available in the kitchen. It has a rustic cottage feel to it. The host arranged for a cab to pick us up at the port. A local bike rental has motos and scooters. The steps to get to second bedroom on upper floor are narrow but it is to be expected from a cottage house.

Really cool place right in front of the shore with view on both volcanoes. If you want to spend time on both side of the island, this is a great and convenient option.

We stayed for 6 nights and this was a great place to base ourselves. The Airbnb has lake views and it was great sitting on the upstairs balcony or in the fully enclosed area downstairs. We used the kitchen to prepare some meals and it had everything we needed. There was hot water in the shower as well. We slept in the upstairs bedroom (there was also a downstairs one) which was accessed via a steep staircase and it was lovely to leave the screened windows open to get a lovely breeze. There was also a pedestal fan in each bedroom. The hosts were very friendly and professional and helped us organise scooter rental and we were able to get laundry done at Casa Itiam next door. We would definitely stay here again.

Lakeside accommodation, very clean and ideally located for all activities to do on the island! All amenities can be reached on foot. The staff and the host are very responsive and attentive to make your stay pleasant 🥰 a big thank you for your hospitality 🙏🏼

We had a great time at Casa Luisa. The little house has everything you need to have a good time in Ometepe. There are shops and restaurants in the surrounding area. I recommend taking transportation or renting a motorcycle on the island to be able to access the most touristic places such as beaches or natural attractions.

Everything was great, from the communication in advance and during, super helpful, arranged a scooter directly for us, which was brought to us to the harbor. The accommodation was very simple, but very well designed for this area and is the only building with a balcony on the upper floor. Very good starting point for any tours on Ometepe.

A superbly located, beautiful and functional accommodation. Perfect for trips to Ojo de Agua, waterfall, volcano. Good supermarket within walking distance.

Brilliant, relaxing place. The host is ultra responsive and really helped us with local knowledge. They even sourced what we think is the only child bicycle seat on the island. Nice bedrooms and a lovely sea breeze that cools the house with the windows open. Amazing views of both volcanoes from the second floor veranda area: perfect to view the semi-sunset beyond the Conception volcano. Great staff and a friendly host - thanks!

This house is a little paradise! Ometepe Island is beautiful, Santa Cruz is the perfect place to discover it. The beach is in front of the house, and from the balcony of the upstairs bedroom you can see the beach and the two volcanoes on each side. This house is totally adapted to its environment. Lots of openings, all with mosquito nets, make it very airy and it's never hot inside. There is a backup battery and a secondary lighting network that means that even in the event of a temporary power outage, there will always be lighting. The house is bigger than it appears in the photos. We were very comfortable with 4. There is a large convenience store with everything you need within a 5-minute walk, everything you need to cook. Lots of restaurants around. We chose to travel with the taxi offered by the host. Very friendly, available, they showed us the points of interest of the island in a beautiful day. Great!

The accommodation is located directly at the beach. Upstairs, it has a beautiful balcony with a hammock and beautiful views of the lake. The location was also just perfect - we will come back.

My partner and I had a wonderful time. The location is perfect, easy to get to grocery/atm or restaurants. Having a scooter made things easier but everything is also walkable. We were surprised to find how windy this side of the island gets, but it keeps the temperature cooler and easy to sleep in. Our private hostel was spacious and clean - and coming from the U.S. we found the price to be well worth it.
