We absolutely loved our stay here! Our family of 9 had an amazing time. The views were incredible, and being right on the beach made it such a special place to stay. The surf was great, and we loved being so close to so many cute restaurants. Stefano was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to help make our trip special. He even helped arrange excursions for us, which made everything so easy. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone visiting Playa Grande!

This property is a gem on the Pacific coast with an interesting beach and near a national park. Many local restaurants to choose from. The only issue has nothing to do with the property and that is the road infrastructure in Costa Rica sucks.

5 star view and beach location - 10 star actually, being next to the national park. But, only giving 4 stars bc set up is great for separate groups staying at the property (couples, different families, etc) but not ideal for 1 family who wants to spend time together. 4 separate living spaces that are not connected internally. If you have a couple different groups staying together and have a rental car to get around it’s perfect

Villas De La Roca (the name of the house) was a wonderful place for our group. Lots of room to spread out while still feeling close in and together. The beach front dining patio was exquisite. We loved being off the beaten path, in the national forest, on the beach. The water was intense and definitely not for beginner swimmers, just FYI. Be sure to get clear instructions on finding the house, as it can be a bit confusing. The only inconvenience was the gecko poo that required multiple daily cleanings in the upstairs living areas. Would return to this lovely home!

We stayed here with our family to celebrate my 50th Birthday and I can’t imagine a better place on earth for that or any vacation. The beach is right out front with consistent, gentle waves for beginner surfing, beautiful sunsets, long beaches for walking, and plenty of food options in Playa Grande. We got up early to walk to the Brazilian bakery for coffee & breakfasts, lots of lunches at the taco stand on the beach (cash-only), and evening dinners at the variety of great restaurants nearby. The house itself was perfect for our party of 11, everyone had plenty of space, but we could still gather in the lovely pool in the afternoons or on the gorgeous porch. The wildlife was amazing, we saw monkeys, iguanas, hermit crabs, mango grove crabs at the house and took another day at the Diamanté Eco Adventure Park (also recommended!) Stefano was a gracious host and very proactive and responsive to any questions. Everyone we met was super friendly, I can’t wait to visit Costa Rica again!

We booked this location based on the beach access and views but upon arrival we were beyond impressed with the home and property. The photos do not do this home justice! The views, multiple hang out spots and Costa Rican vibe the house has cannot be beat. We had 2 families with kids ranging from 6-11 (note that 3 of the bedroom spaces can only be accessed by the exterior of the home which can be tricky with young kids). There is nighttime security although we never felt unsafe in the area. We would 100% book this home again and didn’t want to leave!

The location is amazing with amazing sunsets. The balcony overlooking the beach is beautiful and the beach is nice and quiet. You need a car to get into Tamarindo (40 min drive) as you cannot cross the estuary to get to Tamarindo beach proper (which you can see in the distance) unless you are happy fighting crocodiles! The kitchen and bathroom in the main house could do with an update although remains fully functional so no big deal. My wife and I booked this for four nights and loved being able to go straight out to the beach but we did not use the rest of the property (other bedrooms) so cannot comment on them. We would likely go back to this property as the beach is worth it, as well as the balcony and the peace and quiet the property offers.

If anything, this place was under - rated. It was perfect for our group of 11. Stefano helped arrange multiple outings and accommodated the endless switches we needed to make for various reasons. The view was amazing. We hope to come back !

Our big family gathering loved our stay in Playa Grande at this special house. With great surf, beautiful sunsets, and excellent coordination with our hosts it was a wonderful visit. The neighborhood is great and has some good options for food and fun within walking distance. The beach itself is truly beautiful and expansive with miles for walking or hiking in either direction. Our host helped us line up surfboards which was also very helpful and gave us good recommendations for the area. We liked the house layout although it could be a bit challenging for families with smaller children. One thing the house could use is a bigger, nicer grill for the patio as the grill is a bit small and old for a big gathering. Overall, we loved our stay and can't wait to return for Pura Vida - hopefully next year!!
