Villa del Mar is a gem far from crowds but near to local restaurants, kite surfing, and fisherman. Our 2-week stay was exactly what we hoped for! The lovely private pool was steps from the beach, and the kitchen and outdoor grill made it a pleasure to cook the fresh fish brought to us by the caretaker or purchased at a local market. We rented a car and it was just 30 minutes to a fully stocked Supermercado Rey, 2.5 hours to El Valle de Anton for a hike and a visit to the therapeutic hot springs, and 2.5 hours for an overnight stay in Panama City and the Gamboa Rainforest where we visited the Canal Zone, the native embera tribe, cappuccine monkeys, and saw sloths!

Getting to Punta Chame is interesting, once you turn off the main road it is one way in and out, and the roads are not the best. Deep groves and potholes the size of small cars, make sure you get a suv or van if you are driving in. Limited selection for restaurants so be prepared to hit the local market and cook or you can try one of the handful of restaurants. We came at the end of December/beginning of January so kite surfing was getting started, and for never seeing it before it was pretty cool. There are lessons at the kite house if you are interested. The house is like a compound, behind tall walls and gates, we actually passed the gate, thankfully Javier (the care taker) saw us and opened the gate and walked the property. Pool and outdoor space was wonderful, my daughter loved being so close to the ocean as well. For me the downsides: so many keys to lock doors, my recommendation to re-key to make it easy. Rooms and bathrooms were also good sizes. Overall good.

Wonderful stay. The house is exactly as described and pictured. Javier, the house manager was extremely helpful and checked in with us daily.

I loved the house. My friends and I loved it. The sunset, the garden, the pool, listening to the waves of the sea, the house is super cozy and very safe. I'll be back for sure Ideal for gatherings and stays with family or friends The best is pet friendly

Villa del Mar was a great house. We enjoyed the great kitchen, pool and outdoor space. The area is 20' from the edge of the water so it made access to the beach very easy when the tide was out. A few members of our group kiteboarded and really enjoyed the area. The rest enjoyed the pool and relaxing backyard. Overall, it was a great stay and we would gladly stay again.

The house is very nice, spacious, it has everything you need to be comfortable as a family; they even have a small kit, blockers, repellent and welcome snacks. The spacious and cute pool area. What could have made it a little uncomfortable is that by being on the beach the people who attend it park outside the house taking visibility of the beach and privacy.

The house is very beautiful and spacious, especially clean. Karen was always attentive to everything and the caretaker of the home too. My friends and I had a very nice time, highly recommended

Beautiful house in front of the beach, better than the fotos ! Nicely furnished and equipped. We had a great experience. The only thing to know is that it is not optimal in terms of privacy
