I wish I had paid closer attention to the reviews. During my stay, I became trapped in the building elevator after the power cut out. I was alone in the elevator with my bag and well under the posted 600 lb weight limit. The only guidance given was “2 people per elevator,” which I followed. I felt unsafe and ultimately had to climb out of the elevator myself. The host later confirmed the power was cut, but then attempted to blame me for “misusing” the elevator, which is not accurate. This was clearly a building/elevator failure, not guest error. Being stuck in an elevator and forced to self-evacuate is a serious safety concern. The lack of accountability for everything afterward made the experience even worse. I would not recommend this property if you are coming for a fun vacation. The house is fairly nice but needs new management or host.

The Garabito home is fantastic!! We traveled as an entourage of 15 people (9 adults and 6 kids). We had a fabulous time. The 7 bedrooms worked out wonderfully with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs portion of the house and 5 bedrooms on the lower level. The kitchen is wonderfully outfitted with all of the kitchen resources any high-end kitchen would have. We knew that we had a winner of a house when Sirlene sent us the URL on the Hallmark Movie "A Costa Rica Wedding" which was filmed at the house! Sirlene was a wonderful host, with rapid response to our questions for referrals whether it was transportation from the airport, to restaurants, to questions about the house. Some additional notes: As referenced in other reviews: 1) The property is inside the Punta Leona development and is about a 15-minute car ride from the main road "Highway 34". 2) It is super important to decide your group's mode of transportation, golf carts or cars are a must. Love this place! Sirlene was great!
