Absolutely amazing stay! This beautiful home had everything we needed and more. It was extremely clean, comfortable, welcoming, and the view was absolutely breathtaking—pictures truly don’t do it justice! The host was TOP-TIER and went above and beyond to make our stay was special. They were incredibly accommodating, responsive, and gave us some of the best recommendations for exploring Costa Rica. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and making sure they have an unforgettable experience. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Beautiful property, incredible views, amazing hospitality, and everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Kendry and Augustin are “hands on” local connection and creatively work around any problems and issues you may encounter! Don’t hesitate to book, (unless I want the same weeks LOL) biggest value for your vacation $$

This was one of our favorite Airbnb's we’ve ever stayed in, the photos truly don’t do it justice. The indoor and outdoor living spaces are beautifully set up, and the views are outstanding. I loved having coffee on the balcony each morning and watching the sunset in the evenings. We saw the best sunset of our trip right from the pool. We also really appreciated all the thoughtful amenities, like coffee, boogie boards, and a cooler. Although we ran into a bit of bad luck with a local water main issue during our stay, it was completely out of the owner’s control. Communication was excellent throughout, and we felt well taken care of. I’ve already shared this listing with several friends considering a trip to Costa Rica, and I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is our second time staying at Casa Marafiki. Once again, we are leaving delighted and with a heavy heart. The property offers the very best of the jungle, with stunning views of the valley, the ocean, and the Manuel Antonio Islands. It was hard to stay focused while our valiant concierge, Augustin, explained how to make the most of the accommodation; our eyes and hearts were captivated by the view. At John's, life happens outdoors. The outdoor pool, living room, and kitchen were everything we needed to enjoy Costa Rican life and the absolutely breathtaking sunsets. We would go back into the house, which was perfectly functional, just in time for bed, eager to open our eyes and be amazed by the scenery once again. We are almost tempted to hold back our compliments, as we very much want this secret to remain well kept. But that wouldn’t do justice to the hospitality we enjoyed down to the smallest details.

We loved our stay at John’s Airbnb! It was so peaceful and relaxing there with beautiful views. The pool was wonderful to float in while looking at the view or watching the outdoor tv. There were water bottles, beers, sodas, a bottle of wine and snacks provided which was a wonderfully nice and generous surprise to welcome us. The power would sometimes go out at night but there’s a generator that kicks on right away. If we come back to this area, I would definitely book this Airbnb again!

We stayed for 3 weeks and loved the serene atmosphere, so many beautiful birds and the patio including the pool. The view was amazing and sunsets were beautiful every evening. The concierge was on spot when we needed something or was able to help us with all of our questions. We are planning another trip next year.

The place provided a great spot to relax. My kid played in the pool a lot, and I enjoyed listening to the rain during the afternoon.

We loved everything about our stay at Casa Marifiki. The home was beautiful, the pool was spotless, and the view was incredible — with wildlife sightings right from the patio. The hosts went above and beyond by stocking essentials (soap, shampoo, detergent, TP, etc.) and even left us a bouquet and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. The outdoor kitchen was a highlight, fully stocked with everything we needed, and the washer/dryer was a huge bonus. We really appreciated the abundance of high-quality towels — both for the pool and showers. No old, scratchy Airbnb towels here! The telescope was a fun surprise and perfect for birdwatching. Special shoutout to Agustin, the concierge, who was super helpful and full of great local tips. We’ll definitely be back!

Our stay was amazing! The views were stunning and the accommodations comfortable. The house is exactly as the pictures show. The directions were very clear and helpful. We appreciated the recommendations for a guide (Alex), a chef (Maria) and local restaurants. We ended up taking three tours with Alex, having two dinners with Maria. They both made the trip extra special. If we go back to Costa Rica, we would consider this house again.

We had a life changing truly wonderful experience here. We are a family of four with boys aged 10 and 12. I can't recommend this house more highly for a couple or family. It is right in the rainforest and we saw Coati (a type of Costa Rican racoon), monkeys (we had to wait until day 10 for this treat!), a tayrah, toucans and much more. Augustin and Kendry (a husband and wife team) act as the concierge for the house and could not have been more friendly and helpful. Augustin met us very late at night near the village of Portalon and escorted us to the house. This was invaluable as we'd travelled for over 24 hours and driven 3 hours in the dark from the airport. We had a problem with the AC but Augustin resolved it within hours. We've written a ton of recommendations in the guest book so if you go look out for these. Thank you Kendry and Augustin for helping to make our stay so special, Warm wishes, Frances and Gareth.

We enjoyed our stay so much and everything was wonderful! The house is absolutely lovely and the location is stunning. It's so peaceful - which was perfect for relaxing by the pool (which is amazing) - and nothing but trees surround you, so it's great for bird-watching. Kendry helped us with every last thing we needed (and cooked us delicious meals!) and Agustin met us at the bottom of the hill when we first arrived to make sure we found our way in the dark. Kendry was so responsive, kind and helpful - it made everything so easy. The hill leading up to the property was daunting at first glance, but a four-wheel drive handled it easily. The location is convenient for getting to activities to the south (Dominical or Uvita) or to the north (Manuel Antonio area) ... but once we arrived at the house, we were so glad we hadn't booked too much into our schedule so that we had plenty of time to just be there.

We particularly enjoyed the cozy living area and the indoor&outdoor kitchen, which made it easy to prepare meals. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The host went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, providing thoughtful touches and excellent communication throughout our visit. We felt truly at home and appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of the property. We highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!

This was our second stay in this absolutely gorgeous home and we hope to return again soon! The home is secluded and private, yet well-positioned between Dominical and Quepos (20-30 minutes to many activities). The home is very clean and well-maintained and the co-host, Kendry, is a delight! She is also a great chef - she cooked delicious Costa Rican cuisine for us a few times and we definitely recommend her. Thanks again for everything! Pura Vida!

A wonderful house—cozy and clean. The host is very responsive, and check-in was easy. We loved the warm and homey atmosphere.

John’s home was amazing, had all of our home away from home needs. The pictures did not do this place justice, it was a slice of paradise! The concierge Agustin was very quick to respond to our questions and he was very accommodating and understanding when our flight got delayed, making us arrive much later than we had anticipated. We also tried the at home chef Kendry, the food was delicious and she was very accommodating to our needs and changing schedule. She was lovely to chat with! We would also recommend booking one of Wil’s tours (listed in the house manual), by far the best excursion of our whole trip! We booked his waterfall tour. Overall between the beautiful house, location, all of the people we met and all of the information provided to us we had an amazing stay. I would highly recommend John’s place to anyone and would definitely go again! Also utilize the information in the house manual (such a great resource for excursions, local restaurants and so much more!)
