The spot is AMAZING! We have travel to Costa Rica many times and have stayed all over the west and east side of the country. By far Ms. Tree, the air b and b and the location are on point. Epic human, dope air b and b and the location is FLY! I stayed at the Harlequin location on Ms. Tree’s property for a month. The home was equipped with everything you might need for a short or long term stay. The outdoor kitchen and ability to grill was a huge plus for us. Also, for those that like hot water showers - hot water and pressure is wonderful. The little farm on the property is a magic touch and the animals are friendly and fun! Ms Tree and her staff/peeps are friendly, kind and helpful. I highly recommend Ms Tree and this listing.

The property is absolutely stunning and serene. A car is extremely helpful for getting around and seeing all the beaches and hiking trails but not necessary. Hosts were super welcoming and very responsive and even gave us an extensive tour of the property filled with many fruits and unique vegetation as well as goats, turtles, chickens, cats, and dogs. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Tree was very friendly and helpful. If you had a question, you got a helpful answer very quickly. Additional services, such as a short tour, were also offered. The container and the farm were also absolutely great. We thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend booking with her.

You will feel welcome and grateful to have landed at Margarita Hills. It's a special place in a jungle setting, just a 5-minute drive to Cocles, or a few minutes more to Puerto & the beaches, restaurants, & markets along this stretch of the coast. It's a well-equipped casita! But if I needed anything, Tree & her kind and helpful team were always available. I was here during late Feb-early March. It’s hot & humid, but with the overhead fans and AC in the sleeping space (plus a great mattress!), I was very comfortable. I shared the large property with our host and other guests, & the way the farm is laid out offers total privacy. Ask Tree for a walking tour & you’ll meet the goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc. You’ll likely get visits from the sweetest dogs & a couple of cats. And there’s daily wildlife passing through. I watched a family of Howler monkeys from my deck the first morning, & during my stay also saw toucans, parrots, a sloth, beautiful frogs, & many more colorful birds.

I stayed here for 3 unforgettable months and truly felt like I was living in a jungle paradise. The property is a lush, peaceful farm surrounded by nature—cacao trees along a beautiful green river, monkey and toucan families passing by, and stunning jungle views from the upstairs cabin. The host, Tree, and her family were incredibly kind and generous. I was regularly gifted fresh organic eggs, plantains, exotic fruits, and even homemade pine nut hummus made from trees on the land! She always made sure I had clean spring water, and any issue that came up was addressed right away with care. The housekeepers and groundskeepers were equally lovely—just a great, welcoming community. This place is perfect for nature lovers and those seeking a tranquil, off-grid experience. A couple of things to note for future guests: the cabin has friendly cats that love to hang out nearby (and leave their fur as souvenirs!), so if you’re not a cat person, it might not be ideal. Overall, highly recommend!

Tree is without a doubt the best Airbnb host I’ve ever had. My fiancé and I lived in Trees beautiful home for 1 month where I teleworked with no problem. The place is better than the pictures. The open air kitchen is fresh and clean and feels so lovely to be in all times of day. We loved all our furry friends (Mimi will be missed) and the farm fresh eggs were such an added bonus. We did not end up getting a vehicle, we took the 30-40 min walk to grocery store/beach and that worked well for us. This place is a gem and we are eager to return!

Casa Harlequin is very carefully thought out and decorated. Extremely clean, everything you needed in both the bathroom and the kitchen was there. The jungle and farm atmosphere provide guests with an authentic experience. We had fresh eggs every day! Tree hosted us very well and gave us a very valuable recommendation list that was very helpful to us. We recommend it 100%.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Margarita Hills. We felt right at home during our stay. Tree and her pups kindly greeted us upon our late arrival. The fresh fruit was a nice welcoming gift. Her farm fresh eggs were very tasty. She was beyond accommodating and full of suggestions for things to do and tips for getting around the area. The open, yet covered second floor kitchen and living space really made the space special. The grounds were beautifully gardened and it was fun to visit the goats and Tree’s menagerie of birds. Her staff was very friendly and happy to help. Two days was not long enough and we can’t wait to stay here again the next time we’re in the area!

super thanks to the host. it was just amazing, no words... the pictures do not describe how beautiful is the place. the house is so cute and every detail is well thought through. we stayed for 2 nights and I wish I could have stayed longer. the host showed the place, super friendly and showed the red eyed frogs 🐸 that she has in the property , also gave us cacao fruit for our way back. she also gave us her own eggs from the chicken farm she has and cold water. a part of that, the terrasse was super cozy and relaxing... we had one evening rainy weather and we were just relaxing at the hammock and listening the rain. one more thing... it is hard to find a place with hot water in the showers and this property has it.

Staying at Tree’s place was the highlight of our trip! It is so incredibly well built, comfortable, and open to nature. Everything inside was new, clean, and well maintained. The setting was perfect with lots of nature and animals all around. Tree was super flexible with our check-in and had so many great recommendations of things to do while in Puerto Viejo. Plus, she gave us lots of great fruit and nuts and farm fresh eggs! The whole farm is a haven with lots of birds, friendly cats, fun dogs, and happy farm animals. Can’t wait to come back another time!

Stunning woodwork. Home is built with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. Spa like bathroom. Awesome kitchen facilities - could not wish for anything that wasn’t provided. Fridge is small so plan your groceries accordingly. There is one significant detail missing from description that was only disclosed in checkin instructions. Tree has rescued 10 dogs who you share the property with. They were beautiful and sweet animals that we enjoyed visiting with. During our stay they barked (as dogs do) intermittently both day and night. Fortunately we travel with earplugs which were required. Very attentive and friendly host.
Host Response
Hi Brooke, thanks for the feedback. Normally, we don't get this feedback as we try our best to keep them quiet and keep them in the house at night. However, we have 2 brand new puppies who have been quite chaotic to add to the pack. Sorry to hear this affected your stay!
