Studio in Mexico City

Enrique

Excellent, 8 months ago

Just keep in mind that the location in front of a bridge generates some noise at night

This apartment has a fantastic location for the price. The apartment itself is not very nice. The kitchen is tiny and there’s only a small living room shared by three rooms with one bathroom. It is also noisy because it is close to a highway and there are a lot of trucks going by for the price however it’s a good deal.

Host Response

The location is impeccable, as it’s between Bosque Chapultepec (less than 10 minutes to the metro station), La Condesa, and Roma, and the price is very convenient. My room was fine, the bed was comfortable, there’s a locked windowed door that lets in some natural light, but it can’t be opened to get fresh air. Unfortunately the cat’s litter tray was right at the entrance on the way to the kitchen, and the smell was very unpleasant. The kitchen stove cannot be used, and the “basic preparations and breakfast” mentioned in the listing refer only to access to a kettle and microwave, there’s cat hair on the kitchen counter next to the clean mugs. Overall, I believe this place is a good option for young people traveling on a budget and planning to come home mainly to sleep. For people who are in the city for other reasons than tourism, as was my case, it might not be the best option.

No somos adivinos.

Excellent experience in Camilo's apartment! Clear instructions to enter, it is very detailed and he also sends you a PDF so you can see all the instructions to enter. Camilo is a very kind and friendly person, whenever I communicated with him, everything was respectful and well treated. I was greeted by his kitten when I first arrived at the apartment, which was lovely 🐈‍⬛ Although I was almost always out, everything I used in the apartment worked: the shower, cold and hot, for example, very well. Regarding the area, this is like the third time I've stayed here and well, it's similar. It's La Condesa, so you won't have problems finding everything nearby. It's a neighborhood where you can find everything and it's quite walkable, which in the rest of the country is needed, that you can walk and get everywhere. Specialty cafes, restaurants, and even small art galleries abound in this bohemian neighborhood. A few minutes away you will also find the Chapultepec metro. Thank you Camilo 🙌

Strengths and weaknesses from a Korean perspective Pros 1. Safe security: The center of Mexico City is originally okay 2. Located on the art street: If you walk a little, you will find cafes and galleries. 3. Water purifier: temperature control is not possible. The water outlet is dirty and has white residue. 4. Bus, metro within 10 minutes: Cons 1. The room is different from the actual: There is no table, and the futon is carpet-like, and it is smaller than the picture. 2. The house is different from the information: After confirming the reservation, he suddenly said that he was living with his girlfriend. There was a roommate, so four people had to use one bathroom. It was written that it was a living room for private use, but the host installed a computer. (Now the description has changed again) 3. Cleanliness issue: On the first day, there was dust on the floor of the room, as well as clumps of hair, cobwebs on the ceiling lights, and when I sprayed water with the shower, the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned. I went to bed because I had a hard time finding a place to stay, but the pillow and blanket smelled like foreign sweat. I didn't do the laundry. So I went to the laundromat myself. (On the last day, the cleaning lady came and cleaned as if she was welcoming the next person) 4. Bathroom problem: Front shower room (?), turn left and you will see a toilet, sink, and washing machine. But when I or someone else showers and comes out, the water splashes out of the curtain. And the floor wasn't cleaned, and there weren't even slippers. I got permission from the host and put on my own slippers, but later the host suddenly got angry saying that the floor was dirty with shoe prints. And whenever it leaves a mark, I tell them to wipe it with a mop. 5. Unqualified host: Very hot-tempered, patriarchal, and smokes marijuana or crystal meth in the living room of the house. Pretending to be kind, but it's all a facade. On the last night, I locked the room with the key left in it and went out, and when I asked for help, he got angry and said that he couldn't help me because he was traveling to another province in Mexico without communicating with the guest. I slept on the sofa in the living room, and the next day, he called a locksmith and told me to pay for it. So I couldn't ruin the next day's schedule, so I asked my friend to call a 24-hour locksmith. So, he's making a fuss about letting people in again. Is this a host?

Host Response

P.D; Compra tus propias pantuflas jajajaja

Camilo’s house is a great affordable option, close to Roma and Condesa and Chapultepec. Camilo had great communication and let me extend my stay at short notice. His cat Claudio is wonderful and friendly :) The house is right next to the freeway which is quite loud during the day but not a problem at night. It’s also right next to an ecobici station which made it very convenient to get around. Overall it was a good home base for my stay in CDMX!
