The best part was the super nice cabin and the super nice lagoon. It was a super nice and relaxing stay ☺️

The cabin is simple, but it has everything you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay. It's right in front of the Milagros lagoon. It has A/C, hot water and internet, plus a kitchen in the common area and a barbecue a few meters away. Paddle boarding in the lagoon is recommended, and it's complementary! Location is excellent: just 5 blocks from the highway, 15 minutes by car from Chetumal and 20 from Bacalar, which allows you to explore the surroundings easily. Gerard was the best host. We planned the trip a few hours in advance and the reservation was confirmed immediately. We traveled with our dog and it was a great touch to find a plate and disposable bags for him. In addition, due to a cold front, Gerard was kind enough to provide us with additional blankets. He shared excellent recommendations for restaurants and unmissable activities that we were able to enjoy with our Yorkie, which made this impromptu trip one of the best getaways! Highly recommended

Overall we were happy with our stay. Unfortunately there were heavy rains which flooded the Laguna before our arrival the cabin we originally booked was lot accessible. Gerard was very helpful and accommodating, offering us a choice of another cabin with lass amenities or to stay at his property in Bacalar. We decided to stay in the other cabin and live without ac. The location was very nice within walking distance to a few restaurants and a great base for exploring some of the more remote ruins in the region. It is next to a public park so expect some noise from the folks visiting. The weekend was busier and noisier, one night the music went on until 3 am, but the weekday we stayed was quiet. The private access to the Laguna was nice and we enjoyed the paddle boards included with the stay. As mentioned there are a few restaurants in town, which are seafood focused, and we brought some things to cook in the shared kitchen. There is a fridge to store food and beverages.
