The place is large and offered plenty of space for the 5 of us. The day we arrived, a very heavy rain started, and the place had leaks. I sent messages to the host but never received a response. Fortunately, we met Isaías the next morning, talked to him about the issue, and it was resolved, although it didn't rain the following days and we had no problems. IMPORTANT: - During our stay, there were people at the entrance to the property who were clearly in a bad state (under the influence of alcohol or other substances), which created uncomfortable situations and made my family and me feel unsafe. - The accommodation has some gaps in the living room that lead to the living room of the neighboring house, so you can hear all the neighbors' conversations.

You are not cool at all. I wish I never had you here. Eveyone gives us a five star review and you are a very questionable person. You've made all Mexicans very unreliable and cruel. I will never allow another Mexican again for the way you terribly represented your country. Never come to Costa Rica again. Everyone disliked your group.

we had a problem with A/C the first night and Isaias took care of the problem early next day. We stayed there for a triatlon on Sunday and Gene was very kind giving us a late check out.

Gene is a great host! Proactive and responsive, sending detailed instructions and all necessary info for the house but also local recommendations and very helpfully has facilitated some contacts for us for things we needed to book. Isaias the property manager, is a lovely person and so helpful with anything we needed. They even got us a lovely birthday treat! The house is spacious and beautifully decorated! Loved waking up to the lovely bird singing. Has all you need, nice shower, comfortable beds, air-conditioning and fans for the hot days and a lovely terrace. The neighbourhood is safe, within walking distance to all amenities and welcoming neighbours. Our kids loved it there and so did we. Would definitely recommend!

The apartment was clean, spacious and equipped with everything that we needed as a group of 6. Location was also great, 5-7 minutes by foot from center of Quepos and 15 minutes by car from Manuel Antonio and the beautiful beaches.

We now have endangered lapa scarlet macaws who've taken up nests. There are two couples, one in each palm. They are known to mate for life. These are the first scarlet macaws I've ever seen nesting in Quepos. The endagered Titi moneys are also amazing. They found our compound, and a new tribe wants to live there. They know that Isaias plants all the bananas, platanos, and guinea bananas. Even the Lapas now know him. The palm trees they settled in are the tallest ones. They love a bird's eye view and it's amazing to have the first Lapas to nest in Central Quepos. They are loud! Everyone stops to take photos of them.

Gene is a friendly host who welcomed us very warmly with a small special gift. The house is very large with a beautiful balcony in the back. There is air conditioning in the smallest room which was much appreciated because it was very hot. There are 3 supermarkets nearby and also good restaurants. The bus to Manuel Antonio passes nearby.

Nice spacious house with all the amenities. An excellent Costa Rica & laid back vibe to the house. Pro: -Showers have great water pressure -Kitchen has everything you need -Isaias, the property manager, is always available to help with anything -There is no laundry machine but Isaias will kindly do it for you -Smart tv & wifi speed is great -Porch is awesome, we hung an eno hammock off of the pillars -Quiet neighborhood -Air conditioning is excellent in the first bedroom and the other bedroom comes with two powerful fans -Quepos is a much less expensive town than Manuel Antonio and the bus to get to Manuel Antonio is very cheap and running frequently Cons -The price. We paid Los Angeles/New York prices for this house, definitely not worth the cost, but every other option in the surrounding area seems to be in the similar price bracket. Because it is “high season” they charge more. We booked it anyway because we already had plans to come to Quepos and the house met our needs.

This place was very spacious and very clean as other reviewer‘s noted. There were a couple things about the advertisement that wasn’t accurate, like there is not an oven and it is not on the waterfront. This home is extremely well-maintained and is nestled on a hillside, in a cluster with many other Tico homes. The urban neighborhood was perfectly safe and we really enjoyed our time on the patio. There were extra towels and super comfy beds. We had a few issues while we stayed, but the owner was very accommodating and offered to have someone come and fix everything. Overall, it was a great place for us to stay, with incredible proximity to Manuel Antonio.

Nicole and her family were our first visitors since I took Casa Verde off Airbnb when Costa Rica closed its borders to international tourism. I've been focusing on maintenance, gardening, and some remodeling. Our caretaker was excited to receive guests again and waited for a while, but Nicole arrived late and used the lockbox to get the key. They are lovely people. It's been so long that I forgot the wi-fi password, which was easy to take care of. I have a large portable oven that I never use. It's supposed to be left out for guests, but I guess we are a bit rusty. Misrepresenting the house as waterfront confuses me because I describe it exactly the same as Nicole does in her review. I'm sorry if that was somehow misconveyed... it never has been. Of course, I very much appreciate all the wonderful things Nicole said. Casa Verde really is an incredibly clean, comfortable, and safe haven with amazing proximity to just about everything. I hope she comes back soon and will definitely receive a discount!

Gene’s place is extremely clean, ample towels, and spacious. However our family from CT found it too warm and could have used air conditioning at least in both bedrooms and preferably throug. Also the way the neighborhood looks was a little surprising for us, but it was perfectly safe, very quiet inside the home and the proximity to Manuel Antonio was great!

Nice house, tastefully decorated, close to supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. Many beautiful house plants and a nice patio to enjoy the outdoor garden. A short taxi ride to nice beaches and restaurants in Manuel Antonio. Gene was very prompt in answering any request that we had, he is a great host.

Had a great time!

As a security measure, we commonly change the lockbox code to retrieve the key for late arrivals. It is routine for us and we always send the correct lockbox code a week before the arrival of each guest. I am glad you had the correct code when you arrived, as do all of our guests. The caretaker lives in the villa attached to the home and can help if there is a problem. We've never had anyone locked out because they had the wrong code. Thank you for your visit and please come again soon... Gene

Gene's place was beautiful and super convenient to many awesome beaches, and Manuel Antonio of course. Design elements of the house were unique and lovely, and the caretaker of the house was such an awesome guy! Our family of four really enjoyed our stay. One thing to be aware of is that Quepos was shockingly hot while we were there, and the only space in the house with air conditioning was one of the bedrooms. There were plenty of fans, which helped a bit.
