2BR Condo in Quepos

V

Excellent, 4 months ago

A modern, well-appointed apartment with plenty of space for 4 adults. Balcony was at tree-top height meaning numerous birds and animals were hanging out right in front of us. A few minutes from various restaurants and shops, though you do need a car (or taxi) if going out.

Our stay at this AirBnB was okay. Whilst the apt was clean, towels provided, and there was a nice view from the balcony, the communication was slower than I’ve experienced with other hosts, excessively automated and impersonal and the host didn’t remember certain aspects of our prior conversations eg check out time (leaving me in a panic). The apt is very hard to get to - roads are steep and dangerous (this wasn’t made aware to us) and we also didn’t realise there were a lot of steps to get to the apt (not ideal for my grandfather). It was an overall average to disappointing stay for me unfortunately.

Host Response

I’m sorry to get such a poor review! The access (not dangerous but steep) and stairs are clearly mentioned in the listing. Also upon reservation we informed you that we don’t communicate via Airbnb after hours and to reach out directly if you needed anything. Finally you very insistently requested a late checkout, which we gave you despite inconveniencing the housekeeper. I think next time you should read the description and instructions!

I spent 5 nights in the Guanacaste apartment at La Maison Blanche and thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartment was comfortable and well set up, the pool was cool and refreshing after daily hikes and activities, and the view was spectacular! You’re surrounded by nature. The host was very helpful in accommodating me when there was a hiccup during the reservation process, and he communicated throughout. The house is near the top of a steep hill (hence the breathtaking views), so driving up to the house (or down the hill) can be a little nerve-wracking in the rain, and isn’t for the faint of heart. Spring for a 4WD car rental. Overall, I highly recommend this little spot of heaven if you’re planning a stay in Manuel Antonio.

Karl’s place was spectacular! Our bedroom was right off the porch overlooking the pool and diverse rainforest. I echo the words of a previous reviewer when I say, you never had to leave your place! The hill is steep but the higher the more amazing the views are! We had a 4x4 car but never used it, so while the hill is very steep, it’s not absolutely necessary. Almost every day we saw scarlet macaws, toucans, iguanas, hummingbirds birds, kinkajou (only after 10PM), and a variety of other birds and critters right from our balcony. The biodiversity of Costs Rica and this location are absolutely phenomenal! There was some light construction at near by homes but again it didn’t bother us. Tips: washer only available on property. Use key on key chain to open the door. While it is very hot outside some clothes seem to dry better inside in AC on drying rack. Floor is all tile even on deck so it’s VERY slippery. I would highly recommend drying feet after pool. Enjoy this beautiful home

We liked the place a lot! Clean, beautiful, spacious... great views, good location. Nice little swimming pool. Everyone talks about that steep entry road, but if you've been driving in central CR, Monteverde, honestly it's nothing difficult. Electricity died on us one day, but no fault of Kents and they were super responsive in fixing. Check out all the nearby beaches recommend in the welcome catalogue, especially the two smaller/free-access ones are good!
