LOVE this place!! Fantastic house and private/off the main roads. We saw monkeys almost every morning with our coffee and every evening at sunset!! Gah!! So amazing! And the birds....omg the bird! Outdoor shower is wonderful to cool off. Kitchen was very well stocked and we were so grateful to do laundry. I worked virtual for a few days and the wifi was excellent. And Lorena, the local host, is a GEM :) Ricky, Juan, and Lorena were super responsive and very. Our ONLY request was that we wanted a pool, but we're also from the midwest, so we weren't used to the heat... :) THANK YOU!!

The outdoor space was great. There's two different areas to hang outside and a deck/patio that was perfect for morning yoga. Fruit trees were abundant and the breeze was excellent. Full stocked kitchen. Great communication from the property manager Leonora :)

If, at the end of the trip, we had any doubts about our understanding of the pura vida formula, I think Ricky and Juan's house, but also Lorena's hospitality, definitely made us understand what it meant. Lush flora, fauna present, what a smell of jasmine! An omnipresent turquoise blue from local animal paintings. Small corners to isolate yourself outside, a living room, a dining table, no windows but grilles and mosquito nets, in direct contact with nature. You may not like it, we loved it.

This place is absolutely awesome! Lorena was super kind and gave us great recommendations. The house was squeaky clean and we felt like living surrounded by jungle. Birds and howler monkeys in the morning. 100% recommended. If we would have had more time we would have loved to stay longer.

We loved this place! Even prettier in person than on the pictures. Lorena was great! She took the time to show us the map of Manuel Antonio and the cool spots and gave us good advice. Very friendly, professional and reliable.

Casa La Paz is amazing. We absolutely loved our stay, from the peaceful garden to the nearby soda for delicious meals, and the central location to everything in Manuel Antonio. Look no further, this is the one - highly recommend!

Ricky and Juan’s place was great to stay at! It’s definitely a Costa Rican house. Loved the landscaping/plants on the property, you have your own private jungle. Having options close by for restaurants is nice without having to drive or walk too far. Plenty of room on the inside. Nice patio areas outside, that are covered. Having a washer and dryer is a plus. We would highly recommend staying here!
Host Response
We are so happy to hear you all enjoyed your stay! Pura vida. 🌴

Decent value for the area. The home and garden were beautiful. I enjoyed seeing some wildlife, including monkeys, iguanas, a raccoon. Everything in the home was functional. Good communication from the host. AC in the master room worked well...maybe too well. There were a couple of short power outages due to wildlife activity (from a few minutes to maybe 2 hours), no big deal. Overall 4/5, short a star only because when I asked the host if I could reduce my stay by just 1 day to allow me to go to SJO early to catch my flight, he did not directly answer my question. He merely stated "you are welcome to checkout early". A nice way of saying no I guess.

Absolutely loved our stay here! We would have extended it if it were available. It’s even nicer and more spacious than the photos show. Everything was provided in the kitchen and even had beach towels. Very highly recommend!!

Casa la Paz was better than expected! The house was private, safe, and tucked away near the end of a quiet street in a lush jungle setting. The home was surrounded by exotic plants and trees. Groups of squirrel monkys (up to 20 at a time) would visit several times a day. The indoor and outdoor living spaces were large and spacious. Options for outdoor seating spaces on the side and out back. All amenities in good condition. Functional washer and dryer. Two indoor and one outdoor shower. Short walk (a few minutes) to nearby restaurant and grocery store. About 10 minute walk to multiple restaurant options. Quick drive (~10 minutes ) to Manuel Antonio National Park. Lorena was friendly, helpful and responsive to text messages. Rental car felt safe parked outside. Highly recommend!

Lovely and basic place tucked away on a local street 5-10 mins away from the coast where you’ll find beaches, restaurants, spectacular views and the rest of it. Uber worked flawlessly to get around during our 5 days and is cheap. Lorena is the local hostess, a neighbor and she’s lovely, very helpful and full of life. Lots of pura vida!

Absolutely loved our stay at Ricky’s and Juan home! Cozy and central to everything you’d want to do! I cannot be happier with Lorena who was so accommodating and gracious with suggestions and even when we arrived late due to customs she waited and gave us a great welcome! Thank you!
