The house is absolutely stunning. It is spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for families or groups. Each of the four bedrooms has its own private bathroom, and the open-concept kitchen, dining, living area, and deck overlooking the pools create a wonderful space to relax together. The views are breathtaking, and the surrounding flora and wildlife make the property feel truly special. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the beauty of the home and its location. The only aspect that could be improved is communication. During an unexpected situation, we made several attempts to reach the host by phone but were unable to connect. More timely communication would have been appreciated. Without a doubt, we would recommend this property to anyone looking for an exceptional place to stay in Santa Teresa. It is a truly beautiful home in a spectacular setting.

Villa Ayla was the perfect location for our family (me, my husband, three adult children and spouses and grandson). The four separate bedrooms each with its own private bathroom were ideal. The location high on the hill provided breezes and beautiful views to the ocean. We cooled down in the two pools, the shallow one perfect for the 17 month old to play in. The directions and check in instructions made our arrival easy. The wildlife outside our doors provided entertainment. Howler monkeys, raccoon, frogs, geckos, iguanas, butterflies, and birds were in abundance. The monkeys and frogs were loud, but to be expected in this area! Issues were handled very fast and with minimal hassle to us. We loved staying here and would be happy to return.

We had an incredible experience in this house. It's perfect for going with friends, as it has large and very comfortable spaces to share. What we loved the most was that it is surrounded by vegetation and nature, which gives it a super relaxing and private atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of nature and having the beach nearby means you can really disconnect from stress. Everything was clean, well equipped and as shown in the photos. The host was very helpful throughout the stay. We would definitely come back. Highly recommended for groups looking for rest, nature, and good times!

We arrived at night, and access is not 100% clear; I recommend arriving during the day. The nearby route is noisy at times. The house is very good, spacious, and comfortable, and the location is perfect.

The Villa Ayla property is very beautiful but we had a number of issues during our stay. Locating the property is quite difficult, we took a driver from the Liberia Airport to reach the house and the provided pin and directions given were quite confusing, we were also unable to reach the host at the time. In addition, the AC in two of the four rooms was problematic and would stop working in the middle of the night, eventually causing the hosts to replace it halfway through our stay. After a light rain we also experienced power outages in some of the rooms, the lights in some and the power sockets in others. Finally, the left half of the house has a number of bats, which were hanging outside the bedroom doors and flying quite low over the open-roof bathrooms causing quite a stir in our group. The hosts did their best to accommodate us and solve problems as they came up but the number of issues left us a bit underwhelmed. That being said, the house itself is gorgeous with a great view.
Host Response
Hola Sofia, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate it, as it helps us continue improving the experience for our guests. Regarding your check-in, we were unfortunately unsure about your exact arrival time, and at that moment there was also an internet outage in the area, which made it difficult for us to communicate. We always send guests a PDF with a Google Maps pin, directions, and photos to help locate the property, and this usually works well for our guests. However, we are sorry that it was confusing in your case, and we will work on making the directions even clearer to avoid this in the future. Regarding the AC and electricity issues, these are unfortunately related to the frequent power fluctuations that occur in Santa Teresa. These outages affect the entire town and can sometimes cause breakers to turn off or damage appliances such as air conditioners, as happened during your stay. We understand how inconvenient this can be, and please know that if there were a way for us to prevent it, we absolutely would (as these situations also represent significant costs for us.) As soon as we identified the issue, we replaced the AC to resolve the problem. As for the bats, since the house is located in the middle of nature, they are part of the local ecosystem and actually help control mosquitoes and other insects. That said, we completely understand that this can feel unusual for some guests. We have tried different solutions to discourage them from staying near the house, but so far none have worked effectively. Again, thank you very much for your comments and for staying with us. Feedback like yours is very valuable to us as we continue working to improve the guest experience. Best regards!

Fiona was a great host. She helped setup transportation from the airport to the Airbnb home, had several atvs ready for us at the home so we can travel around town and was an all around great host. The home was exactly as promised in a serene and private location. Highly recommended.

Spoiler alert: beautiful house, but extremely noisy location. The house itself is beautiful, well designed, and offers a stunning view. House is in the jungle. However, it sits right above a canyon where the main road passes through, which significantly amplifies sound. Because the road goes downhill and then back up, vehicles — especially trucks, motorbikes, and quads — have to accelerate hard, often for long stretches. The noise carries upward and is much louder than expected. At times, it genuinely felt as if motorbikes were coming directly into the house. Even with earplugs, sleeping was difficult due to the constant engine noise. If you are looking for a quiet or restful stay, this is an important factor to be aware of before booking.
Host Response
Hola Nicolas, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are genuinely sorry that the noise affected your stay as this is not what we want for our guests. Usually, this is a very peaceful place where people come to slow down, relax, and enjoy the jungle and the views. Most guests spend a really calm and enjoyable time here, and over the years we’ve even hosted several retreats. Until now, no one has ever told us that the house felt noisy, so we are honestly surprised by your experience. It’s possible that during your stay there was more traffic than usual, as some times of the year are much busier and can bring more activity on the road below. Unfortunately, that’s something that can vary depending on the season. On the other hand, we are happy to hear that you appreciated the house, the design, and the surroundings, and we truly thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

The accommodation is beautiful, with a very nice view of the sea and the mountains. It's designed so that guests can share common spaces, but still have their much-needed privacy and intimacy. The rooms are spacious, with an excellent atmosphere, quiet and inviting to rest. The bathroom area is also beautiful, full of comfort and good taste. It was a beautiful experience for our group and we felt comfortable at all times. The pools are also designed for comfort and relaxation, as well as the wonderful panoramic deck. The truth is, it was a stay in which we felt very comfortable.

Great location. Challenging to get to initially* but an absolute oasis on top of the hill. The set up with 4 suite style rooms was perfect for our family and would be ideal for a group or for as many as 4 couples with lots of privacy and such a lovely open floor plan common area. Just as pictured in the listing. Clean rooms, great A/C in the bedrooms. We did have an issue with the kitchen sink water supply malfunctioning - not something the host could have predicted, and given the inconvenience they were very responsive in trying to get it fixed and making accommodations. *Detailed instructions and photos were provided, but we arrived at night in the rain and definitely would not recommend that, especially as the hill you drive up is a dirt road that washes out when it rains. Probably only an issue in the wet or borderline wet/dry season (we came first week of Dec) but just an FYI since even our 4x4 car got stuck several times!

incredibly beautiful, peaceful, tucked into the forest with ocean view on the deck, monkeys and birds all around. Fiona our point person was lovely and responsive and attended to our needs. everything was comfortable and clean, beautiful kitchen to cook and feel at home, incredible outdoor bathrooms. short drive down the (scary) hill into town / beach. need 4 wheel drive and a high clearance vehicle 100% or you won't make it. absolutely recommend and hope to return. thank you!!
