The apartment was good. Unfortunately a little dark, because of the many trees. Manfred and Giselle were very nice and helpful. They were always available. A big plus: washing machine and dryer. The price is very low for everything the apartment offers.

Had an amazing time. Loved their Airbnb. The only problem was the walkways which were very slippery and uphill. We talked about it and they are trying to correct the problem. It will be difficult for older people like myself to use the paths to the home.

Host Response

Thank you Catherine for your observation regarding the walkways being slippery, we inmediadely contacted someone to come to the property to wash the walkways using a high pressure washer, as you know this winter was out of normal with all the heavy rain we had for days.

This Airbnb is absolutely incredible! You will definitely want an SUV to get onto the property as the driveway is gravel and steep. The house is nestled into a beautiful property that feels very private. The plants keep it hidden and shaded. You walk up the stairs (not wheelchair accessible) to a beautiful wrap-around patio with 3 hammocks. Once you are inside you are greeted by a galley-style kitchen that is open to a common seating area with a TV. There are two bedrooms, the first is right off the kitchen and the second is down the hall next to the main bathroom. The second bedroom has a private bathroom. There are plenty of doors and windows that allows there to be plenty of airflow to keep the house cool. Outside you will find a pathway to the laundry room which is shared by the hosts. The house is about a 10 or 15-minute drive to town (you go down a big hill). Pedro and Maria are very sweet and courteous hosts! We wish we had been able to spend more days there!

Pedro and Maria are two amazing hosts. Their communication from the time of booking until you get to there home and if you have any questions while on your stay never failed. Being a first time in Costa Rica they really gave some great information to help you move around. They responded back in a timely fashion. And their home so cozy and homely. I absolutely love their location. They are in the middle of every where you need to go.

A very superior house in all respects. Kitchen well equipped for a long stay, with very modern appliances, lovely cabinets that were well-stocked, and a full-sized refrigerator. Beds were comfortable, bedrooms seemed spacious. All furniture was tasteful and in good condition. Great attention to detail, with lovely murals in the bathrooms. Very comfortable covered out-door dining area. Superior hammocks so you can study the mangos overhead and be serenaded by local birdlife. Good showers, strong wi-fi, safe neighborhood (where some houses don't have security grills, and new construction in the area is suggestive of affluence.) Communication with hosts and next-door caretaker was excellent. Sorry I could only stay 2 nights!!.

Case Don Pedro was a great place to experience Costa Rica for the first time! The house was as described and in a secluded neighbourhood. Pedro and Maria was very communicative right from the beginning until we left. Having their staff live right next door was a bonus was we could call on them if we had any issues. We were met by Marvin at the airport and helped us with our rental car issues and made sure we arrived safely to the house. It would have been a nightmare to find it by ourselves at night as most of the Costa Rican roads are not marked and it would have been hard to tell if our GPS took us to the right location! Overall we had a great stay and we highly recommend Casa Don Pedro for anyone staying in the area!

This cute little house was even nicer than the photos. We needed a place to stay breaking up the drive from La Fortuna to Quepos and so glad we found this place. The decor is really interesting with large colorful paintings throughout and amazing wall murals in both bathrooms. The kids enjoyed the hammocks on the patio surrounded by lush tropical garden. I wish we could have stayed more than one night. The caretakers were also very nice and friendly.

Gorgeous tropical vegetation, high in the hills above the town of Atenas (Santa Eulalia district), which makes it cooler. If you don't speak Spanish, a translation program on your phone is useful for communicating with Massiel and Marvin, the caretakers of the house who are lovely people and very patient. Pedro responded almost instantly when we had a question. Massiel and Marvin were exceptionally helpful with getting around, bus schedules, etc. The house is on a bus line, but be aware that the buses don't run as often as you might like. The kitchen is well stocked, but not well lit which makes cooking after dark a bit difficult. Eating al fresco was delightful!

If you are reading this just go ahead and book it. It's a beautiful, and very architecturally stunning home that is clean with beautiful grounds. We were very comfortable relaxing in hammocks on the porch and birdwatching. The house is even prettier than the pictures. The check in process was great, the caretakers were accessible to help with anything we needed and we were well rested to fly out of the airport. It's about 30 mins from the airport. We would stay here again. There are also restaurants and a grocery nearby.

We loved our night at Casa Don Pedro. Pedro even sent his employee Marvin to meet us at the airport to guide us to the casa. And that was a good thing, because I don't think we would have found it, especially in the dark. The house was lovely, the photos don't make it well. In the morning, Marvin's wife picked us fresh mangos. A pure delight. Next time, we'll stay longer. Thanks Pedro and Marvin. Nathalie

Casa Don Pedro is adorable. You kind of want to stay there forever. It is very clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. The area surrounding the house is very well maintained. The beds are comfortable. We were greeted warmly by the caretaker when we arrived. The directions on Google Maps will take you right to CDP. Be aware that the house sits back from the road a little bit so it's not easy to see from the road, especially in the rain. I highly recommend this place.

We visited in mid December 2016 with our two granddaughters and found the home to be clean, very accommodating and a great value. Don Pedro was out of town most of the time we were there but it was a pleasure to meet him on the last day of our stay. Marvin and Massiel were so pleasant and were there for us every time we needed them as we did loose our way once or twice. We liked this location because it was central to many of the places we wanted to visit and to the airport. There are several mom and pop stores in the area but if you prefer, there is a huge Walmart just across Hwy 1 from the airport. Don Pedro sent more than adequate directions to his house for us to find our way easily and also provided information on the area. The WIFI was great as were the house phones and TV service. Washer and dryer was a plus. Our stay there was over and above our expectatons and we would definitely stay again Thank you Don Pedro.

This was our 2nd Stay at Casa Pedro. We came back because we enjoyed our first stay so much. They do take the extra effort to make sure everything is great and even got up at 4am , to say good-bye when we had to go to the airport! All we can say is thank you! We will be back next time

Hard to find the cabinas. Same GPS team. When I wanted to reach out to the host I had to pay for a communication for Canada. I didn't know until then. This really increases the price for the night . The local contacts were incomprehensible to see only spoke Spanish

This is a great place to stay, Pedro and his team were wonderful. Its close enough to the Airport that it is a great first or last place to stay when visiting CR

Massiel y Marvin were amazing hosts. They welcomed us with empanadas and shared an amazing meal with us. The guesthouse we stayed in is an adorable two-bedroom apartment replete with kitchenette, two bathrooms. and living room. With its bright colored walls and beautiful local artwork, the house feels friendly and welcoming, a small haven in the middle of a jungle garden. Though a bit outside of town, the charming house and its lovely hosts are well worth the drive.

Great value! Great house!

Lovely home. We were only there one night but the beds were comfortable and everything was lovely. Peter had great communication and be aside we were arriving late even kit red balloons on his house to help ensure we found it easily in the dark. (It was easy to find). Our only minor issue was that the house is up a hill and it was very wet and muddy when we arrived so our car slid in the mud when we tried to leave. But the care taker helped guide us out and all ended well.

We didn't expect to have such a great location to stay our last night from holidays but what we got was overwhelming!! The house is a little paradise, so spacy, clean and perfectly equipped!! The hammocks in front and besides the house are perfect to relax and you can observe the hummingbirds, squirrels and other birds in the tropical garden. The house itself is made with so much love to detail and the bathrooms with the painted exotic walls are amazing!! Pedro was the perfect host, also we didn't meet he always took care that we are fine and helped us a lot with finding the place. Really wish we could stay longer and we defiantly would come back!! Thanks that we could be your guests!!

Don Pedro is a perfect host. He takes care of every detail, caring and willing to help. This was my first stop in Costa Rica and with the help of Pedro I immediately felt at home. The house is very cozy, spacious, clean, neat and aesthetic and has all it takes for a wonderful holiday ... hammocks on the porch ... large mango trees in the garden and plenty of fresh air ... I highly recommend Don Pedro's house. I go back there again at the end of the journey in Costa Rica and will definitely go back there again next visit.

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our time at Casa Don Pedro. The home was simply charming. It was tucked away in the mountains just like we like it! It was absolutely perfect. It was just my husband and I for two days and we really wanted to extend our stay at CDP, but we were scheduled to meet up with our friends on Quepos, CR. The house and the grounds were very traditional in respect to upscale Costa Rican living. Perdo arranges our pick up from the airport. We were greeted by two of his gracious staffers. We were treated like royalty! Couldn't have asked for a better romantic get away. Sleep two perfectly, but cold have easily slept 4. We cannot wait to visit one of our newest casas in CR!

Staying at Casa Don Pedro was a very special experience. The home has a beautiful architecture and is decorated with very thoughtful touches. We very much enjoyed laying on the hammocks in the wrap-around porches taking in the relaxing surroundings with the cool breeze, many trees, flowers, and native shrubs. The nearby town Atenas has all of the conveniences you may need. The home was private, but Marvin and Massiel, the caregivers for the home, were on the property and very helpful and friendly when we had any questions. We really enjoyed meeting them and their young daughter. It was a bit tricky to find the home at first, but once we located it, it was an easy drive into town. Thank you Pedro for creating a very special home away from home.

The hosts, Pedro and Maria were off site during the visit but were very supportive and accessible by phone. The two housekeepers, Massiel and Marvin were wonderful. Marvin met us at the airport and helped us navigate to the casita. He correctly aligned one of doors, fixed one of the toilets, and corrected a problem with the dryer. Massiel gave us a number of cooking tips. We found that both Massiel and Marvin were more that willing to provide extra service for monetary tips. For example, Massiel cooked us some wonderful meals and Marvin washed our vehicle. Our experience may be exceptional since my wife Sandra is fluent in Spanish. The description of the casita is very accurate.

Pedro's house is terrific. The house is new and very well kept. Bedrooms (and separate baths) are nice, as is the living room. The kitchen is small but well equipped. The best part is the 3 hammocks and BBQ on the porch. Magic Jack phone provides free calls to US and Canada, a second phone is for calls within the country and the WiFi is excellent. There is one caveat... you are 7kms from Atenas, the nearest town. The house is out in the countryside where bus service is limited and it costs $6 US for a one-way taxi trip to town. If that's okay with you, Pedro's is perfect. Pedro always made himself available when we needed anything at the house and for our trips. (Via email or phone.) Dependable taxi driver Marvin Chaves was awesome with an excellent car, good prices and reliability. The groundskeepers housekeepers are sweet people, friendly and often around, though they respected our privacy too. The house is surrounded by vegetation, so there is no view, but it has a nice cooling effect and lots of birds visit the yard. There are neighbours all around, but you can't see them from the house. There are noises like motorcycles, dogs, roosters but it's Costa Rica and they are far more subdued here than elsewhere. Two small stores are within walking distance, one each way on the road. The store to the left has more goods while the store to the right has cold beer at good prices. Past the store to the left is an avenue up a hill marked with a line of palm trees down the middle each painted white on the bottom. It's private property, but ask at the gate and you can walk up, staying left onto a dirt road to a cool, quiet wooded area then beyond up a steep hill to an incredible lookoff. This was our first AirBnB, and if every place is like Pedro's, we'll be doing a lot more travelling this way.

The four days we spent in Pedro's home were very enjoyable to say the least! Everything you need is at the house. We went to some of the nearby restaurants, owned by local families. We ate great food and didn't have to spend much. Pedro is a great host! He made a phone call to us upon arrival with great recommendations of things to do in the area. We will for sure stay here again the next time we are in Atenas! Thank you Pedro...

First of all, I can't say enough about Pedro the owner of the property. He was so helpful with advice all the way through. He made sure we would find the home and always made it clear that we could ask any questions we had. He called the house once we arrived to welcome us and to see if we had any questions. The home is built in Spanish Style and is very neat and clean. We enjoyed our stay and exploring the surrounding area in our two short days we had in the area.

We started our Costa Rica - trip with a 5-days- stay at Casa Don Pedro. The beautiful little house located in a spectacular landscape is about 30min away from the airport, so perfect after a 10h flight. The road to Santa Eulalia is a little bit tricky, especially when it is dark and raining (no lights, many serpentines). But you get used to it! Traffic from and to San Jose can be horrible. So, take into account that it may take you hours to get to the capital. The house itself is very clean and provides everything you need, even for a barbeque. If you need anything, Pedro is happy to help. So I can absolutely recommend that place.

Casa don Pablo was a delight! Pedro is most helpful and Pilar is available and eager to be of assistance. Neat space with the hammocks being a respite from indoors. Enjoyed sitting outside watching the hummers feed on the ginger blossoms. Excellent value! Plush towels! Definitely would recommend! A visit to Doka coffee farms was enjoyable. Zoo Ave was also fun! Store in walking distance. Nice to have washer and dryer. Great directions; read them carefully:) Easy to and from airport.

The house is very nice, the service is excellent. We spent two friendly days. The locals are super welcoming. You absolutely need a car, or take the bus, because it's secluded.

Pilar was waiting for us, she showed us around. We really liked the house, cozy, tastefully decorated, very nice house with the possibility of grilling, the hammocks call for rest or reading, which we did. Really pleasantly surprised, exceptional setting.

A beautiful colonial style house and a pretty garden in a peaceful village. The kitchen is very well equipped so we enjoyed cooking our meals and had lovely long breakfasts and dinners in the patio. The best thing to do is to relax in the hammocks and take an afternoon walk around the village. The housekeeper Pilar is extremely friendly and helpful and the house and garden are kept in a very good condition. We really felt at home.

I had a relaxing stay at Casa Don Pedro with my wife and two young children. The house is very charming and clean. We were pleased with the good help from Pilar the caretaker who came out to find us when we missed the bus stop! Pedro called and his daughter stopped by soon after our arrival to make sure that all was good. There are three awesome hammocks on the porch and a nice outside dining table where we watched birds at breakfast time. The location is pretty far out of the mainstream which can be a good thing if you are looking to get away from it all.

Oh my god! This was fantastic! If you're looking for something close to lots of tourist sites, this may not be your first choice, but we were looking for something quiet and relaxing, and this was certainly the place. The house is gorgeous, the setting tranquil, and the experience was fabulous. Pedro sent us detailed directions to find the house, the housekeeper met us and showed us around, we could not have asked for more. Even the pair of chickens who walked through the yard each day were friendly. The beds were comfy, the hammocks even more so. We left the windows open all night - kinda like indoor camping. And no bugs! What more can be said? Frankly, we fell in love with this little Costa Rican retreat.

Pedro could not have been kinder or more helpful in any way! He paid attention to the smallest details in order for our stay to be the most positive. This included arranging for a driver, wonderful Andre, to pick us up and bring us to the home. It was so beautiful and lush and green! Pedro's daughter and Pilar were there to greet us and show us around. I had the best sleep ever in the soft bed and total peace and quiet! We only stayed for one night...and what a blissful night it was!

Pedro and maria were really nice hosts and very helpful. They respond immediatly and provide a lot of support. We spend there our first night in costa Rica and the place is fantastic. A nice house in a beautiful garden. Absolute nothing to complain. During our first mornibg we already met parrots and colibris...

The house is very nice, with spacious rooms, and with all kinds of amenities. Very comfortable mattresses. Everything went really well. Getting to the place, as previous people have said, could be a little bit tricky. Attention to detail is extremely important. The space is fantastic. We were very impressed with how cute and functional the place is. If/when we return to Costa Rica, we will for sure go through Pedro. Pilar was also a great help. The location is nice, especially if you are looking for a place that helps you feel more like a native. Very safe and in a jungle setting. Thanks for everything. Nick
