Beautiful location, and Atenas truly does have one of the best temperature/climate in the world. It would have easier if I spoke some Spanish. Very close to a excellent food market.

I didn’t want to leave. Beautiful gardens, very nice caretaker. Modern kitchen. Beds are so comfortable. Marc and Francine are the best out of the 4 Airbnb’s since September. Large wrap around verandas. The bathroom is huge. Nice neighborhood close to everything. I will miss it,

We were a group of six, and realized great value at Marc's BnB. The Property Manager was excellent and attentive to our needs. Overall; an excellent visit.

We felt very comfortable in the house of Marc and his wife. It offers a lot of space, has a great equipped kitchen that invites you to cook and eat. There are many possibilities to linger - in the house, on the terrace, on the balcony with amazing views or by the pool. The kids had plenty of space to play and we all enjoyed the regular cooling in the pool, which was just the right temperature. The garden and the surrounding free property with, among other things, mango and avocado trees attract many birds ( parrots, raven vultures, turkey vultures, Montezuman birders, sulfur mascot, large-tailed deck, and much more). There is a supermarket nearby and restaurants with tasty dishes. The friendly Santana took care of the garden and pool and was always responsive to our questions. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This is our second visit to Marc's place, ample space, well thought out. Showers were great, lots of hot water and pressure. What surprised us was the ambient noise from the dogs, much noisier than we recall. The pool was chilly but by the end of our stay warmed up. I'd say overall we enjoyed the location, and the house.

It is difficult to write just how wonderful this house is. An incredible quiet and peaceful setting. Such a well-built modern house with everything one needs. Plenty of dishes, silverware, and towels. Beautiful grounds, and swimming pool- both maintained daily. So easy to communicate with Marc. It feels “away from it all” but a 15 minute walk to the large, modern supermarket and cafe and then into town. And of course, watching and listening the birds every morning was a bonus that we really appreciated.

We enjoyed our stay with Marc, and thought his pool was one of the prettiest we’ve ever been in. It was nice to be able to walk to the grocery store and to restaurants. We will definitely stay again!

The pool was perfect temperature and large enough to actually swim! Comfortable new furnishings. Appliances all new and great. Bed was a bit firm for me, but that seems to be the case throughout CR. We walked to the town and exercise park every day, under 3 miles round trip. Santana is right next door in the guest area, he only speaks Spanish but was very nice and quiet. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay. Close to town as well as restaurants and grocery store. Peaceful and beautiful grounds.

Marc was a great host and the property was way better than in pictures. Would love to come again.

Wow, what a beautiful property. This was my family's first visit to Costa Rica and the property exceeded my expectations. The well-kept grounds are larger than expected with lime, banana, and other large trees for catching a glimpse of the local wildlife. A few other homes are visible but we had the feeling of seclusion and security with a short walk downhill to the market. A new Weber gas grill on the huge patio was used multiple times for dinner with much time spent on the patio enjoying the great view.

Very clean, beautiful view, comfortable bed. Joseph and Alba Luz Santana are wonderful caretakers.

Our vacation was excellent at Villa Radiante. The house's location is central, 10 to 15 minutes to downtown Athens. The supermarket La Cooperativa has everything at good prices. People are so friendly that they even call them a taxi if you don't have transportation. Chicharronera Don Yayo and the Fiesta de la Pupusa sell delicious food. The CHIFRIJO has to try. Restaurants are within walking distance. The house is surrounded by flowers, plants and trees from which you can see Tucans, Pericos and much more variety of birds. Villa Atenas is a cul-de-sac and the neighborhood is very quiet. People walk their dogs and we could see people riding horses. The pool and Jacuzzi are cold water, when the days are sunier it is refreshing. We do not rent a car so we use bus and taxi service. The buses from Athens -San José leave every hour. It's best to have check-outs and check-ins. It lasts an hour or an hour and fifteen minutes to get to San Jose depending on the traffic. Next to the house live Mr. Santana, his wife Alba, the son, Cinnamon the puppy and the girlfriend of the son who sometimes stays there. They take care and work on the property. For us it was no problem because they were super friendly, respectful and always helped us. My kids played with Canela who is a beautiful dog Doña Alba cooks delicious and shared Chorreadas and Elotes with us. He also made us traditional food. Without them, our vacation wouldn't have been the same.

It was a wonderful experience. The house and Garden are Great. Pool is like new. The housekeeper Alba and Santana were the best. We really loved Atenas and the Location of the house is Perfect.
